About 1.5 years ago I stopped bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. Just too much of a bother. Either I will look up some let's play or walkthrough, download a demo, make an educated purchase decision, or just don't bother playing at all and just enjoy the community and fan content, etc.
Leo Russell
Yes, but mainly because I went from a 38Mbs download connection to 200kbs download and now have lazy neet scumbag housemates using the internet constantly. I've almost entirely stopped gaming altogether. If this post ends in a 7 I'll kill them both in their sleep tonight and post proof.
Dominic Myers
Hey OP stop being a fag, you just had your thread >
Ethan Martin
I know it's became somewhat of a meme but I genuinely do pirate occasionally just to see if I can actually run the game I'm interested in before buying. There have been times when I've straight up pirated a game like DOOM 4, but that was because the cracked version ran better than the Steam version for whatever reason so I got a refund and carried on with the pirated version. I just wish devs would bring back demos.
Noah Scott
The new DOOM had a demo.
Bentley Anderson
>Download Fitgirl repack >Takes 20 minutes to download but 7 hours to install And I would do it again for the nice music during the installation.
Jaxon Sanders
I realised that after I'd already pirated it but even the demo ran like shit for me too so I still would've ended up not bothering with it if I didn't know any better after trying the cracked version.
James Hall
>bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. >Just too much of a bother. What in the actual fuck?
All of those things you described after that take way more effort and time. Going to a store as well.
The only thing that is less hassle than pirating is purchasing it on steam or similar platform. And even for that piracy is like 10% more "bothersome"
Dylan Moore
i have never pirated before but should i?
Luke Taylor
I mostly pirate everything because poorfag in poor country.
>About 1.5 years ago I stopped bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. Just too much of a bother
I'm not skilled with computer stuff, but most of the games are already cracked or you just need to copypaste some .exe or .dll files, I don't think is that hard to have a pirated game working user
David Perez
There must be something awfully wrong with your computer if it can't run DOOM well, that game was excellently optimized.
Especially if the pirated version somehow worked better.
Justin Cooper
Do whatever you want
Mason Rivera
I've never even attempted it.Even if it was ridiculously easy I wouldn't do it unless it was for some dumb shit like oblivion horse armour.
Gabriel Stewart
easy, free and theres no regret if the game is shit
Camden Jackson
>Have you pirated less recently? I haven't pirated anything in years, because I'm not playing new games at all. When the 7th gen started I realised that video games as an industry were becoming foreign to me and I lost interest.
Robert Bell
It's a bother because there are often new features and fixes and then you'll have to redownload the whole 40GB pile of data again and reinstall and then the multiplayer doesn't work, or you might discover that it doesn't work at all, or...
Nicholas Young
are there any games worth the bandwidth? last games i beta tested via bittorent were TW3, FO4. both deleted within the hour of installation.
Landon Jackson
Yeah that makes sense, I usually wait for the "DEFINITIVE EDITION" and only play 1 player games because autism
Aaron Reyes
I have too many games in my backlog to bother with pirating, for instance I just got the Ringed City added on top of my existing "shit I need to finish" list.
Ryder Taylor
Pirating has gotten a lot harder lately. My ISP actually cut me off permanently after years of vague threats(had to use a bullshit payment workaround to get a new line). Haven't really pirated or even torrented anything since. I'm considering getting a VPN/seedbox but with Denuvo and a lot of public trackers going down I dunno.
Noah Diaz
I've been pirating more movies and tv shows recently. I actually buy games on keysites now and its usually 6 months to a year later after the release because of the shitty launches. I did buy Hitman (tm) on release because I'm a fan of the series.
Isaiah Kelly
ha, nice 7, faggot. when you get a chance to stop crying, why don't you go fry up some more fish sticks for us to eat. 7 bitch
Landon Jenkins
>not chicken tendies
Brandon Gonzalez
i'm over it
Bentley Davis
I pirate less nowadays - less time for vidya, and most games are shit or just don't enjoy them.
Also, as new AAA games - Denuvo is common now, so I sometimes pay 2-4 dollars to some guy for accessing his account, installing the game, putting Steam in offline mode and then playing it.
>Just too much of a bother. Download repacks.
Aiden Hernandez
I want to fit my cock into that girl
Camden Flores
I just got a Wii U two weeks ago and I've been downloading games to play through homebrew. Last time I pirated before that was probably the Wii actually.
It's funny how people say PC gamers are the pirates when its way easier to pirate shit on consoles imo
David Reed
i barely pirate since i finished school and have a job.
last thing i pirated was KONA just like a week ago, before that i have no clue what did i pirate
and if i did, it was probably to demo it before i buy it
Gabriel Bailey
Torrenting less now probably just because I can tell if a game is going to be unenjoyable just from looking at it a few minutes. I buy shit if it's worth it, like I did with hollow knight a month ago.
Jason Gutierrez
ever since i got a job i stopped pirating MOSTLY. The only exception would be 3ds games.
I found that if i downloaded anything remotely interesting i'd just end up playing none of it so i'm better off just playing what i can afford.
Lincoln Miller
I only "pirate" ROMs (which I barely do) and I "accidentally" downloaded full version of Doom thinking that it was some short of demo version because of the low file size. Otherwise I buy all my shit lika a good goy from Gaben.
Brandon Sanders
I pirate the shit out of movies, tv and music. I noticed the pirate scene is getting slower on games, starting a year or two ago so I just gave up checking.
Besides, the majority of games have some sort of multiplayer attached now and I have no problems with purchasing them if they're worth it. I also tend to be playing more on my PS4 than PC, mainly due to it being easier and more comfy since I have it in my living room and I'm no longer bothered about graphics. Majority of the games that get released barely touch PC too, which is a shame because I used to be PC only.
I also recently pre-ordered about 20 games that I want this year, so I'm sorted for the rest of the year now.
Thomas Taylor
Oh yea and basically music. Not that I bother downloading it I just use Youtube.
Jacob Evans
Last thing I pirated was assassin's creed syndicate, because fuck ubishit. Next thing I'll pirate is yooka laylee just to spite playtonic
Xavier Roberts
I do pirate. I also pirate VSTs, music software, photoshop etc.
Jaxon Powell
I have no fucking choice The isp's have blocked it
Nathaniel Rivera
>pirate game >don't touch it >forget I pirated game >buy it in a sale
Lucas Martinez
Same, its how I got BOTW for free, and everyone at my dorm's pissed since they all bought their own
Asher Edwards
>trying to find and get pirated games to work. >Just too much of a bother. What. You click a magnet link, paste the crack and play the game. How is it more bothersome than watching a let's play, downloading a demo, going to the store or filling credit card info?
Leo Peterson
Only indie games really. Exanima and Starsector are worth a pirate, I bought both after pirating them.
Owen Lewis
Berseria
Connor Thomas
Now i became a full weaboo thx to Denuvo.
Nathan Thomas
Yes, mainly thanks to mainstream gaming going to shit completely.
Samuel Walker
no, i've never stopped
the only way you can get me to pay for a game is to paywall the multiplayer service
Jackson Perez
Well I did stop pirating recently but that's only because it hasn't been possible. PC games have denuvo and by the time they're cracked I often lose interest, PS4 can't get hacked, same so far from the Switch.
I kinda like having physical games, but the problem is how expensive they are where I live. They go from 90 dollars to as high as 120 depending on the demand of the game (yes, demand)
For example Nier Automata is easy to find at 80-90, because nobody here plays those games, but Uncharted 4 was 120 at launch and now you find it for around 100.
Jaxson Fisher
>bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. what? literally put the name of the thing in your torrent-clients search field and get the one with the biggest number near it whats hard about that?
Landon Wright
>literally put the name of the thing in your torrent-clients search field and get the one with the biggest number near it What the actual fuck Which client has a built-in public tracker search engine?
Andrew Powell
qbit probably others too? i didnt update for like a year i dont know man
Grayson Morales
I haven't pirated anything on PC for about 2 years as I'm still running a 2500k and 560ti so I've dropped out of PC gaming for a bit.
Pirated Tsubasa's game and XBC X on Wii U once that because doable.
Pirated a bunch of shit on the Vita just because.
Wyatt Williams
I used to pirate the games I didn't buy, I was desperate to get every new game and was excited to play them all.
Now I don't give a shit because most are honestly garbage. I buy a few, far fewer than I used to and don't give a shit about the rest.
I have more disposable income than I ever had before and more free time but games don't seem worth it as much. I even watch let's plays sometimes to purposefully ruin a game for myself to kill the desire to buy it.
Did that with the last Resident Evil game.
Seems im not alone too because at a time when game protection is at it's strongest and games go uncracked for insane amounts of time, game sales are falling through the floor.
Nathaniel Edwards
Yes but that's because I rarely play games nowadays and I always pirate, no exceptions. If I can't pirate the game, I don't play it. It's that simple.
Cooper Rivera
>About 1.5 years ago I stopped bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. >just too much of a bother
>install >apply crack if it doesn't do it automatically never been easier
Thomas Johnson
I've pirated more recently.
Ayden Sanders
if it's not worth buying, it's not worth playing
Bentley Davis
I'm often wondering about the reciprocal seething hatred and disdain that exists between the industry and its customers. Which I'm guessing partly comes from the transition from being an enthusiast market to being a bona fide industry.
But I don't think I've seen any other example of this kind of contempt from both sides. With video game fans genuinely wanting the industry to die, and the industry openly despising their customers in the open.
As for OP's question, I still haven't moved the line about online activation and account tying being unacceptable. Steam and copycats being successful have made me pirate a lot more over time.
Asher Ward
>I stopped bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. >Just too much of a bother. What? No really, what the fuck are you even talking about? nine times out of ten, it is literally; >Download >Install >Play
Yes, I pirate. I pirate absolutely fucking everything. I pirate games I might not even play, to movies I might not even watch. Why? Because I can.
Last game I pirated was Terraria 1.3.4.4. I downloaded a bunch of Sup Forums approved mods and had an absolute fucking blast with friends over lan. Over 100 bosses, about 50 new NPC, new Biomes. Shit was fucking amazing. Last movie I pirated was Resident Evil. Which was fucking ass. Just like the last dozen or so Resident Evil movies.
Charles Roberts
>Have you pirated less recently?
Nah, I still pirate all my PC games because nobody sells them the way I want them to (entire game in one box, no online DRM including no steam activation).
Jose Hall
I don't pirate games, I still pirate movies, tv shows and music though. Also, who the hell wouldn't download a waifu? I'd download a waifu if given half a chance.
Oliver Reyes
This is a good reason to duplicate some bits. Doing so saved me a ton of heartache over Homeworld 2.
Plus if anything is a steam-only release piracy is the only way I'm ever going to see it. Not to mention DRM, and everyone who insists on building it into everything can go and climb a wall of dicks.
>Starsector I too pirated this, and then threw money at it b/c I liked it lots. Very happy with the fun I've had with it, even despite the game not being finished yet.
But ultimately, this.
Austin Thomas
I honestly just haven't found anything worth pirating
James Jenkins
I pirate everything I can, because our "economy" is a sham. I also refuse to participate in it as much as I can and just abuse the welfare system to finance anything I cannot pirate.
I seriously wish more people would pirate, to bring an end to the system.
But alas, there are just too many blue-pilled morons who just do as they're told.
Jeremiah Scott
>Just too much of a bother. Maybe you should git gud?
Julian Torres
I only pirate porn desu
I have too many games to even finish
Colton Myers
I stopped pirating several years ago, Steam made actually buying games so much more convenient.
Last games I pirated were Mass Effects. Glad I didn't pay money for that shit.
Tyler Brown
>pay full price for a digital copy of a 10+ year old game. >it's the pirated version complete with scenedemo
Oliver Carter
people steal shit all the time. pictures, videos, music, fonts, information even if you never stole a game, youve probably stole walkthrough or cheats or art to make into a desktop.
Henry Stewart
having to download full isos just to upgrade got annoying. games being such shit quality that they need constant patching is the best anti-piracy.
William Fisher
...
Daniel Phillips
I think this is bait, but I'm going to tangentially bite.
I respect NEETs simply because they've found a way to game the system, good for them. I think suicide keeps the number down to a manageable level.
But I've heard arguments like this before, if the system ended wouldn't that directly hurt you as well? Why would you encourage others to your hidden oasis?
Ayden Smith
I'm wealthy enough that, combined with steam sales, buying a game is easier than spending hours finding a torrent that isn't full of Trojans.
I do still pirate really old games. Just got Dungeon Keeper to replay it last week.
Liam Roberts
I don't pirate newer games. I feel like that's just asking for a virus.
Wyatt Gonzalez
I like Tales and Platinum, so I've spent more money than I have on Steam in like two months than two years.
Denuvo got me.
Gavin Lopez
between 2002 and 2008, i downloaded every rls that came up on packetnews. I don't remember enjoying a single one.
Lucas Myers
YOU ARE A PUSSY, YOU FUCKING MAGGOT
Kevin Wilson
user would you pirate my waifu?
Gabriel Robinson
Your waifu is shit wouldn't even pirate.
Isaiah Watson
I only pirate now if a game isn't on any digital distribution or has dead DRM like SecuROM or GFWL or something.
Noah Walker
I've been earning so, I've actually been pirating less. Thank god for sales.
Jeremiah Peterson
kill yourself and take your cunt you.
Adrian Watson
I pirated less recently because I only have a shitty laptop. Can't run any games that are also released on PS4/Xbone
Joshua Jenkins
>About 1.5 years ago I stopped bothering with trying to find and get pirated games to work. >Just too much of a bother.
piracy is perfectly fine, you are just a moralfaggot which makes you scum and cancer.
Jace Morales
Yeah, but not because of some moral agenda. I make enough money now so I really don't feel like going through all the hassle just to save maybe 300 bucks a year.
Cooper Brown
I want the system to crash because I see how financial insecurity corrupts and ruins everything.
I simply want more people to be able to make the games they want to make, instead of having to make as much money as possible as soon as possible.
Lucas Martin
How do big games get made without financial backing?
Gabriel Bell
By lots of talented people with a vision coming together?
Jordan Ward
>Terraria >Mods Let me guess, Thorium, Calamity and Spirit, right?
