You first
...
That's a lot of awards.
overrated shit
For you
Still better than any other game ever released.
...
Everything just feels so right in this game.
It has the perfect setting to be an assassin.
That's where the series should have stopped.
lol bait harder nigger
...
Yoshi's Island
Goldeneye (for its time)
Guild Wars
Pinnacle
Fuck off.
It's the only assassin's creed game that you actually feel like an assassin.
always and forever
I like you guys and we should hang out.
t-thanks
Too good for this world tbqhfalmadd
Pic unrelated, as they are shit
FF7 was the masterpiece, shame it's success meant it hitting the mainstream where people will always throw hate at it to be edgy.
Bit like this guy
Go ahead, say it's bait idgaf
explain why they're shit
because i said so
...
Master of Orion 2.
4x peaked early.
Prime is pretty good, but Metroid in general is pretty overrated.
Best metroidvania of all time. ALL TIME.
Still salty 2 was such a letdown.
>when zippo says a line another person was obviously meant to say
Seriously how little budget did they get?
Based Bioware.
if you forget the ending, ME3 was the best.
You mean Tombi. PAL had the best intro cinematic purely for that music.
Omg this is the best final fantasy ever
RPGs are shit and only low test beta males like them
This image always makes me laugh.
...
Played both actually. Mostly NTSC. Not sure what the differences are, I'll check it out later.
...
Good taste OP
Literally no differences except the name and the intro cinematic music. Awesome game though, I played the hell out of it.
Its actually true though
AC2 was pretty fucking good
>PS2 is now the console Sup Forums played as a kid
>every ps2 game is now a masterpiece
I knew this day would come and yet I was not ready.
...
I would really prefer if you would be quiet
Gonna post a couple of games i think are great
Excuse me, you seem to have misposted best Sega game
I'm 26, and PS2 is the shit
fuck off you dumb frogposter
Why does sega do everything better?
Best Games of All Time
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64)
Resident Evil 4 (Game Cube)
Halo (Xbox)
Super Mario Bros 3. (NES)
Grand Theft Auto Vice City (PS2)
Grim Fandango (PC)
Perfect Dark (N64)
Golden Eye (N64)
Born 1985, the PS2 is still one of, if not THE best era of gaming in my lifetime.
Although I have a massive soft spot for SNES/PS1 days.
Inb4 somebody starts spamming Platinum games, which don't belong itt
>Goldeneye
Fuck off, I can agree to most stuff but that one is just pure fucking nostalgiagoggles
you should named it the holy bait
>I'm 26, and PS2 is the shit
that's exactly what I am complaining about kid
Stole everything from GUN and ran away with the glory. Still pisses me off to this day, GUN was actually a better game at it's core but I'll hand it to RDR, it was still a great game.
Planescape Torment, while it has a great story, is absolute garbage when it comes to everything regarding gameplay elements.
And if you honestly think stories are important in video games you should probably hang yourself.
PS:T would probably be better as a book.
...
>in a town, night time and raining
>group of 5-10 bandits roll through on horses
>framerate dropping
>eagle eye most of them, 2 left
>they come back, so I kill them
>apparently I shot a deputy (conveniently on horses just like the bandits)
>bounty placed on me, nobody will arrest me either
>stop playing
why the fuck is it that every time there's a firefight you always end up as the bad guy? and the first few hours are painfully boring
...
My only problem with GUN was that it was too short.
Grandpa get out of Sup Forums if you can't adapt
or maybe are more suited for you
PS2 posters are infinitely better than GC babbies, who flock to worship monuments of mediocrity like Wind Waker and Sunshine, - which were games that signified the casualization of their series, and a focus on gimmicks that would last for years. GC babbies also forget that the console died halfway through and had no games to offer past a certain point.
Yeah, it was pretty short. Towns felt quite empty too, but you could tell RDR took it as an opportunity to improve upon it.
:^)
You, I like you
first JRPG right?
Flawed but yeah, I agree.
majora's mask > OoT
REmake>re4
San andreas>vice city
Halo and Golden eye are overrated
you are a cool dude in my book
Best fucking setting. Original Dragonball + classic fairy tales. Hate the sequel.
mmm Goldeneye, can't wait to play at 6-8 frames per second
>REmake>re4
B8
But you get fast pants in the sequel, and Tomba is voice acted
"I AM TOMBA THE MIGHTY, I WEAR FAST PANTS"
Legit, memers who scream "waifufags" haven't played it.
>mfw reached the part after her home village
Kudos to the demented genius who made that whole breakdown sequence. Holy hell I don't think I've seen this much intensity in any Tales.
The tutorial sidekick ruined it. Just as Starlow ruined Mario and Luigi.
I would love to be able to play JRPG's again but since the change of artstyle I can't bring myself to do it. Compare JRPG's now compared to back in the 90's, so much better and less childish.
I couldn't get over for the platforming jumping parts and controls for the game. May have been an emulation issue, but decided not to continue playing cause of it. Was liking it up to that.
>compared to back in the 90's, so much better and less childish.
Come on now. This is my fav. JRPG, look at the artstyle and tell me without knowing the plot if it would be childish or not.
Bad games are bad, good games are good. Artstyle is gonna prevent you from playing good games?
Must suck to not be able to enjoy something because that little voice in your head is telling you it looks too childish.
3rd game was pretty good as well
Uh oh. Get ready for the
>something something furry bait
>something something reddit
I agree with you, it's a fantastic game that everyone should at least try once, but this is Sup Forums. You fucking KNOW what's gonna happen. If it's popular, Sup Forums hates it.
One of the best games I've ever played, maybe I was just less jaded as a kid. Even so that artstyle is pretty innocent, and looks comfy.
>Artstyle is gonna prevent you from playing good games?
The majority of JRPG's I see now are true weeaboo appeal, so yes it puts me off playing them. Unless you have a few you can recommend that are outside of this?
More like tumblrtale
More like neogaftale
More like e621tale
>Life gives local girl lemons
>Girls responds by binge eating people
I bought this game and beat it recently. It's fucking awesome.
Also, Magilou is best girl
I just started this game. I like that the lizard man didn't die right off the bat. Although now that I've met pirates that can sail for me I am worried he may bite it soon. I like the lizard guy's character plus more rpgs need monster crew mates.
Timesplitters FP
Perfect Dark
Halo CE
FF9
Future Cop LAPD
>not tales of symponia
...
>Game has great narrative and gameplay that makes an impact on the medium
>Takes inspiration from one of the best games of all time
>Characters that break the norm and respond to the actions of the player and not the player character
>lol but fuck that it's popular on tumblr/reddit/somethirdsite
Never change, Sup Forums
You might be a bit jaded yeah, if you care to look around a bit there's still good JRPGs to be found even today, you just gotta know to pick them off from the overly weeb ones, they can be good as well but if it turns you off its your choice.
Keep in mind we're talking about JRPGs, there's bound to be some weeb in them, Grandia was also chock full of it. So try and develop some tolerance if you wanna enjoy the genre, if you cant then it might not be for you. Here's a list of mainstream, not overly weeb ones. A bad thing about the list is no singular platform, JRPG fan is suffering.
Xenoblade Chronicles
Radiant Historia
Bravely Default
NIER(hybrid but I figure it still works due to leveling/quests etc.)
Trails in the Sky First+Second Chapter
And since you liked Grandia you might as well check out 2. Don't do 3, please no. While you're on it check their other series Lunar out, 1st game got a PSP remake, easily emulatable, sadly no remake for the 2nd one which is imo extremely better.
Lastly play Tales of Berseria, I guarantee you the weeb artstyle is misleading as fuck.
Why is he a "dream"?
He's more like a ghost
Also, why does a "dream" have daddy issues too?
Even though he was a manifistation of a dream doesn't mean he can't have feels
I'll check them out except Grandia 2/3 already played them, and hated them too. I've never played a 'Tales' game before, but are they all separate individual stories? If so I might try Berseria since people are praising it so much. I'm in the mood for a good turn-based RPG these days (turn based right?)
>pic not related
I've been waiting for this.
Tidus is a "dream" in a dual meaning sense, thanks to those wacky Japanese loving that kind of thing. He's not strictly a ghost or a fake person, he's an Aeon, same with the entirety of his Zanarkand, the Fayth of which you bump into at Mt. Gagazet when the reveal actually happens. In a way he's the ideal version of the original guy who makes up part of the Fayth, the "dream" version of him. But being an Aeon doesn't mean you're fake or anything, when summoned you're very much a living creature. Pyreflies come out of your Aeons when they die for example.
The best video game of all time coming through
Honestly fuck Sup Forums. I love the batman arkham games to heart. My favorite games for 7th gen. I wish rocksteady would make another batman game or make a different superhero game.
I thought the pyreflies form the body of the Aeon, sort of like an organic hologram effect.
>hated Grandia 2
Sad to see, maybe you wont like Berseria then because it tries the same dark approach. Still you should give it a try. Berseria is a prequel to Zestiria, the previous game but you really dont need to know anything from it to enjoy this one, plus Zestiria is as bad as it gets for a Tales game.
While I was on it I completely forgot 2 more titles, 1 of them being my fav. JRPG of last gen
Lost Odyssey
The Last Story
LO is the best, turn based too. Unfortunately its in the worst possible platform for the genre so I dont blame you if you cant play it. TLS has interesting mechanics, nice story and is short so you might like it.
In fact, thread related, a masterpiece.
OoT literally does nothing better than its successors though. Pic related is much better.
It's not entirely clear the relation between pyreflies and living things (unless I'm forgetting something), but the one thing that's consistent is that if anyone or anything dies then pyreflies emerge from them. I was just trying to emphasize that Aeons are as real and alive as anything else when summoned, since people tend to take the "dream" thing as him not being real at all. He's not exactly like the original though.
