Is 2017 going to enter the videogame Hall of Fame as one of the best years for videogames in history alongside 1998,2004/5 and 2008?

What about 2003 and 2006? 2013 had some great releases too.

lol no

for japanese games yes western shit is only trash.

>TFW overwatch lore states that mercy becomes medic in StarCraft

It's so weird.

No

>tfw no qt medic gf

No. Literally nothing worthwhile has been released this year, and Q1 has already passed.
I haven't played it, but I doubt that Nier Automata is a good game.

Only if Death Stranding and Metroid Prime: Echoes of the Past Grind release this year

Maybe. I can't see the future.

to be fair, western companies bank on E3 hype and release their games around holidays.
here are some notable western games that range from okay to good
>Red Dead 2
>For Honor
>Horizon Zero Dawn
>Crash Remake
>Dad of War
>Dawn of War 3
>Shadow of War
>Prey
>Destiny 2
i know some of these are reaching really far, but there should be something for everyone.
and differentiating between west and jap seems odd, they are all games so whatever.

>tfw no qt blonde healslut gf

> manages to pick every year wrong
HOW DID HE DO IT. Sup Forums BTFO!!

Stop calling healers healsluts
It's disrespectful and healers are cute

buy a console nerd.
>Metroid
>in 2017
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Probably not.

Pic related is the only thing I'm looking forward to.

>Death Stranding
That's more like 2020 user.

>Metroid Prime
Does anyone even care about new Nintendo titles these days?

stop slut shaming

I wish the industry would take a huge U turn and go back to introducing new IP's and taking risks instead of latching on to old ones. I also hate FPS now, I used to love them but the market is fucking over-saturated now, it's been done to death.

stop shamer shaming

>forgetting about mother fucking 2012

>introducing new IP's and taking risks instead of latching on to old ones
Well, that doesn't sound very profitable, goy.

Gwent isn't even out yet and it's been one of the most fun games I've played in quite a while for me.

Helps that it gives me a chance to play on my laptop for once so that my bf can have some more time on the computer.

what kind of alternate reality do you live in user?

u wot m8?

No, not really.

Merely releasing a couple of "good games" isn't enough. A standout year has multiple GOTY contenders that feel like actual GOTY contenders.

Also, these GOTY contenders need to be either new franchises, one-offs or be extremely different from their predecessors.

I don't fucking care, take the risk. Otherwise it'll just continue to become stale and boring.

only Red Dead 2 and DoW3 look good. We don't know if Red Dead will come this year.

>DoW3 look good
Lol no

that's pretty sad user, either you have a hard time enjoying things nowadays or 2017 really is this bad.

The UI is horrible, why didn't they keep the original?

>PCfats hates the only good looking RTS

Healers are not sluts

Healers are sweet gentle people who love life

I don't really mind it personally. The screen where you mulligan your cards is horrendous though. You have to scroll through your hand of 10 cards while only having like 4-5 of them visible at a time.

The game is having an xbox release alongside the PC one though. My wager is that a lot of the UI changes are due to that. That being said a lot of it isn't final. They've changed quite a bit about the interface since I got into the game like two weeks ago.

Gameplay is MUCH better than the Witcher 3 version though. Leagues more complex. Also mind you that this is just the deck building screen. The actual board when you play has two opposing sides obviously.

I'll probably be called a shill for this. But if anyone is interested I got an invite from this place myself: gwentdb.com/news/64-10-000-gwent-beta-keys-giveaway-grab-yours-here

>sc2 medic quotes
my fucking dick man

Imagine the shitstorm if CDPR gets awards for GWENT. It's going to be three fucking years in a row.

Still cracks me up that it won Best RPG and DLC. To be fair, it deserved it.

It's seriously the first digital card game that's managed to appeal to me. My hope is that it will actually force companies like Blizzard to compete for once instead of just relying on having a near monopoly on the market.

Seems likely that Gwent will skyrocket as well. It struck me a few weeks ago that the Witcher 3 version of Gwent was basically just a marketing ploy for the stand-alone cardgame. They were able to gauge interest for the game, reach millions of people for basically free, and had it be so unintrusive that most people (including me until recently) never even realized it. It just seemed like a fun little mini-game.

Started off 2017 with Hollow Knight and found it amazing. Trying to get Nier now. Hopefully the rest of the year maintains this degree of quality.

>Nier: Automata
>Hollow Knight
>Iconoclasts
>Two more boss knight campaigns for Shovel Knight
>Sonic Mania
>Nex Machina
>Frozen Synapse 2
>Legend of Zelda: BotW
>Rain World

I certainly hope so OP
