What went right?

What went right?

They all look terrible.

>That girl from Skullgirls
What? I don't remember her from from Skullgirls at all.

What a mess.

Crowdfunding was a mistake.

>curses n chaos
who?

>shovel knight
>No shovel

Also who the fuck is the Skullgirls rep

Why do all indie games insist on guest starring characters from other indie games. Shit's not even funny or charming, just feels like devs desperate for attention.

>he didn't play Beowulf story mode
Get the fuck out fag

Where's Reize or whatever that faggots name is

why is shovel knight a giant mecha?

Shitty opinion user. Fuck you.

nah youre wrong

A shitty indie game that no one heard or cared about, because it sucked.

Now immortalized with a guest character in another shitty indie game.

Why is Zelda a girl?

That Annie, you could vote for her to be a playable character in 2013

Where's Vivian?

Guest character should be a mistake in this type of game. You only get to control one character with really unique moveset so randomly adding shit will make it unbalanced as fuck. While this is good for the fans, did anyone say anything about how this will fuck up the difficulty?

>he didnt do best boy's story mode

>Game that will never come out
Literally nothing went right

Potential backers (and buyers for that matter) are always interested in cameos. The idea for indivisible is credited to Madureira (Battle Chasers), who wanted to show his support.

Why did you edit this picture?

Are they just gonna spoil the whole fucking game?

>jrpg style game
>difficulty
there is no difficulty only grinding

if I remember right it was those indie devs trying to help push the indivisible indiegogo to it's goal. All the designs are fine to me expect shovel knight. He's supposed to be a manlet underdog type dude.

he's not?

They're post-game content

If I remember right, guest characters will be unlocked after you've beaten the game.

>
>Super Time Force Ultra

Holy FUCK that games was a ride.

Inexplicable choice for a Skullgirls rep.

They have a proven track record of getting games out though

>supporting kickstarter scams

What the fuck is Curses N Chaos?

Guacamelee was alright. Super Time Force was just gimmicky crap with the most hipstery aesthetic ever.

Hyper Light Drifter looks okay but that's it for how hard it got pushed.

Mind you I tried the demo for Indivisible and wasn't impressed so not about to play it no matter how hard it circlejerks the indie circle.

>Shovel Knight and the Skullgirls DLC were scams

That's okay, the potential of the game's combat system is not apparent unless you've played Valkyrie Profile

>2 games out of thousands of unfinished abandonware
>IT'S NOT A SCAM

it's the same people though

what makes you think it's a scam this time?

>wayforward tricking everyone into believing they're indie
They've done it again

p. much any talent they had left for yacht club. good on them.

>confusing Vanillaware for Wayforward

But what if he was?

I can kinda get behind Denver the Last Dinosaur over there since at least it's just so far removed from making sense in-universe that it's funny again. Everyone else fits in just enough to not fit in at all.

>game states it's based on Southeast Asian lore
>only 3 out of the 20 something characters are Southeast Asian

They added Annie

Wait, where's Sans

Honestly I'll take indie games doing a shitload of crossovers over "put your character in the game!" kickstarter backer trash any day.

playing plague of shadows right now and destroying all the portraits at the mansion is the most cathartic thing I've done in a while in a game, and I mean that's probably the best implementation of that kinda stupid shit I've ever seen in a crowdfunded game and I still didn't like it.

>2 of them looking more Indian than Southeast Asian too
>the other being more of a reference to Japanese media too

Undyne would be cooler.

She was the runner up for the fan's choice vote for Skullgirls DLC characters and before the crowdfunding she was the one planned after Big Band, only none of that did happen thanks to Konami.

>Shit's not even funny or charming, just feels like devs desperate for attention.
it is

but its ok
when indies do it

:^)

I thought the SG choice was going to be peacock?

I havn't played Skullgirls since a few months after first release

What? She actually did get voted?

>the LAST stretchgoal is for GAMEPLAY
UMM

>GAMEPLAY
>LAST
this is the gaming industry today

All kickstarters must bow down to their indie game god, Shovel Knight, for it is written in the terms and services of kickstarter.

guys

I think I'm sold

I've fallen for the meme

It's a lot of work compare to their previous goals.

I mean generally when you see a stretch goal, it's like 20% of the money goes to the goal named and 80% just to generally improving the game. That last one reverses it and then some.

At least it's not as dumb as Shovel Knight's goals. "Yeah let's just double the amount of time we're going to spend on this single IP".

to those who care about Skullgirls lore she's pretty important

whats up with this fucking obsession to put shovel knight into every indie game?

To be fair I can't really think of any other real crowdfunding success stories like it. Either it died a death, got funded but never came out, came out but was a fucking shitshow like MN9, or came out and was pretty average at best like HGH. Shovel Knight is the only truly great game I can think of that's been made through kickstarter.

>Other Goals
>Can be worked on by people other then the main gameplay team, allowing them to focus on getting it out on time as other goals are made alongside the game

>Gameplay Goal
>Can delay the release, as it's typically worked on after the main game is finished, and sometimes even requires the team to go back and redo some of their previous work.

It's a bit scummy but at the same time it lets them work their pace.

What the fuck happened to shovel knight?

If you look at the goals before it they're all things that don't need much extra work for the dev team, as they're all outsourced, yet are flashy things that can draw in backers (in fact Trigger as meant to be a major drawing point until miscommunication meant it couldn't be announced during the campaign), while postgame stuff isn't gonna matter much to most people.

And it's still just a clone of a retro game

he was edited out to trigger spergs

it's an edit
op is a fag

here's the original

it's telling that this crowdfunding success story was in fact a nightmare that had to be pitched for a third of its actual cost and would have bankrupted the devs it it hadn't sold lots of copies post-campaign.

these two are also guests

I know but I'd swear I saw a pic of Sans in the indivisible style

Wait, here he is

It's in the Kickstarter Terms of Service

they really shouldn't have made the extra campaigns free, and even they know it going off what they're doing with specter knight's campaign. Don't regret backing it and buying three other copies afterwards though, just sayin

>this is considered to be the best of indie games
Half expecting Beck at this point

>"Guys we didn't make any money from Skullgirls please fund our new game"
>Ingiegogo about to fail
>Suddenly gets the funds to reach the extension mark
>"Woo guys thats close give us more money please"
>Begins to slam every type of Indie game cameo they can
>"Cmon guys we can do this!"
>Indiegogo about to fail
>Suddenly the rest of the funds get shoved into the project
>"Haha thanks guys"
They scammed you retards and I can't wait for this to fail like every other Kikestarte
>Only other game is Marvel vs Capcom clone with waifus slapped ontop
>Giving money to them
Oi Im laffin

...

Shovel Knight is one of the most most popular indie games of all time. 99.999999999999999% of any conservation about the game is nothing but saying how great the game is, like the people talking about it are trying to shill the game to everyone listening in on the conservation.

Or maybe it's just a great game

>the GOAT will forver be kept pure.

remember when they said all the guest characters had been revealed

then when project was failing the extension they begged wayforward to let them use shantae

>$150,000 just for the one music guy

well, pure in the sense that it won't be diluted by shitty crossovers sure. those wii/3DS ports are trash.

Still the best though. Glad the creator's still making cool indie games like Kero Blaster. That game didn't get enough respect.

Oh look, it's indie devs perpetuating their circlejerk.

I'm not trying to knock it, but some (most) people get annoying when talking about the game.

>Shantae in for double the cute brown protagonists
Now put Kat in too.

tried looking up "GOAT indie game" on google and all I could find was a bunch of unrelated shit

Are you unhappy that it worked?

You're just discovering that truth known to all normal people, that gamers are annoying as fuck when talking about games.

>one of the most popular indiegames
Eh, I think the top 10 are easy to name
>Braid
>Cave Story
>Papers Please
>Undertale
>Super Meat boy
>Dwarf Fortress
>Spelunky
>Bastion
>Limbo/Inside
>Stardew Valley

Shovel Knight, Darkest Dungeons, Hyper Light Driftforce, Enter the Gungeon, Binding of Isaac, Owlboy etc are tier 2

Hotline Miami and FTL are up there.

Why am I not a guest in this game too? I'm also an indie game!

>several western indie characters
>Kat is a japanese Sony character
I see.

Who the fuck still talks about Braid?

If we're talking sheer popularity Shovel Knight eclipses Dorf Fort (these days) and probably Stardew Valley at least

Shit I forgot FNAF, knock down Spelunky to Tier 2 and add that shit instead

Does Shovel Knight have any actual flaws? I think that the main one is the fact that your weapon is a shovel, which is pretty lame to be honest.

If you decided to look online for "top indie games", #1 will most always be Braid.

Will Zone-tan be playable?

I just want more cute brown girls in.

3D is bad, but enhanced Cave Story on 3ds is pretty sick

I still can't believe that OST though, it's still one of the best.

Zone lucked out with that avatar, that's gotten him some major recognition.

>lucked out
Do you think he just used an online generator or something? It's like saying "man, Mercedes really lucked out with their F1 car last season, it got them some wins".
