Anybody hyped for this? I can't find a release date but I have been looking forward to it since the indie showcase

It's a shitty fighting game with only eight characters, the two manblobs working on it don't understand basic fighting game mechanics and are exclusively hoping this game sells on nostalgia alone.
You can easily emulate the entire NeoGeo library. If you buy this game, I have twenty Mister Plumber Man clones for you to buy on your iPhone and a couple gold hammers.
>Check to see if this is really the dev making this game
>I'm pre-emptively blocked
Fucking wew
>eight characters
Waku Waku 7 only has seven characters but it's GOAT.
I think it's cool to get inspired by Neo Geo Pocket game aesthetics but I ain't gonna give my money to idiots who have me blocked despite never having interacted with them (i.e. fags who use block lists)
That and it honestly doesn't look all that different from the actual SNK portable fighters which already exits and as said are extremely easy to emulate
Visually they have more limited and less fluid animations but despite that they're still extremely charming and well done to this day youtube.com
Waku Waku 7's seven characters are unique and full of personality though; the characters in this just look like SNK bootlegs.

Jesus lost any interest I had in this. Looked like a neat little game to have on switch, but they ain't getting my money.
I was pointing out that character number doesn't really matter, but I suppose you're right. Don't understand the point of getting this when KoF98, WW7, and other fighting games are already available and probably better.
yuasa devilman is gonna own so hard
>Devs work hard to push handhelds to their limitations
>Focus on getting the gameplay doen before anything else
>The limited pallet and giant heads were so the characters were smooth and recognizable on the tiny screens
>20 years later
>19 year olds who don't understand shit about development think the aesthetics are, "so retro!"
>They trace the fucking sprites and do slight edits to make them, "new characters"
>Assign the same moveset to everyone and then make tweaks without understanding balance
This is literally nothing more than, "I saw these EPIC 8-BIT SPRITES and they looked easy to copy." The Notgame.
They know nothing about balance. They are allowing Naomi to have 80% combos that lead into a 3 way mixup
She's using the GG blocklist, you must have said something that triggered the bot that adds people to it.
9/10 if ypu are blocked by someone you've never interacted with, this is why
I heard the bot adds you if you ever used the word, "fuck".

The rest of your criticism is fine but fuck off about the art style being 'dated' nigger, the sprites in those Pocket games are really artistically impressive and it's not like chibi games didn't exist on more powerful systems. Gem Fighter/Pocket Fighter was a CPS2 game and it's beautiful.
>Literally never call the art style dated
>Get accused of literally calling it dated
You are illiterate, mt basketball American friend.
I said these two idiors don't understand the aesthetics and tried to copy them, failing since they lack insight on why they were the way they were.
And then you come in shitting yourself like a fucking fool.
There is something really weird in the games steam reviews, I think the game was pretty negative before and there is like 10 negative reviews in a row, afterwards there is a massive shill storm. Looks kind of fishy, or has the game really better now?
The devs are two SJWs with Patrick Klepek and Jonathan Holmes desperately trying to make their game popular, just like with Gone Home and that black maid game.
Okay I'm sorry that was admittedly a pretty presumptuous gay reaction
>game that looks like a NGPC game
>Looks like
And that's where the similarities end.
I saw the Kickstarter for this.
I was thoroughly disappointed when I saw that the characters were actual edits instead of original ones. You can easily tell which character has been the base for each of the sprites, taken from Fatal Fury, KOF and Capcom vs. SNK.
The background artist, Merrigo (iirc), who is not connected to anything else with this game, is really cool, though. Also, they included way too many non-sensical guest characters to appeal to backers and their ideas of stretch goal characters were quite horrible to be honest.
