>start using him just to troll scrubs with jank 9s
>actually learn his mechanics and never use judgement ever again

Since SNES Mario Kart and havent let him go since. Main him in all the Smash games up to Wii U, except 64 where he was sadly absent.

I main Ganondorf because he's my favorite villain from my favorite series

If you think he's good, then you're Sakurai in disguise

Where in that post did I imply how good or bad I think he is?

Only the bestest (plus lots of secondaries)
Wanted to main himsince the first trailer and also because I knew Jigglypuff would still be shit :(

Marth but I don't play it anymore *(

>Tfw based husbando doesn't even appear in the new game

>Second most wanted character gets in
>Has a cool moveset
>got a cool trailer
>is low tier, glitchy and doesn't even have alternate costumes
>was almost cut from the game anyway

T-Thanks Sakurai/devs. At least I have TTGL memes

it have the best costumes you fucking retard

>Entirely different characters
>None of whom have different costumes either
>When Little Mac has wireframe versions of all his alts
>best costumes
No.

When I play with friends we all always pick random. Because of this I'm not good with any character.

Rosalina and Ganondorf; the idea of playable Rosalina was cool to me, and smashing people as Ganondorf is just fun

R.O.B. Squad reporting in

Green ROB best ROB.

How it usually goes, although I like to use judge in friendlies or when I'm up a stock.

>Will not touch Shulk
>Shulk

Bought Sm4sh ages ago and never played it much, want to get into it now.

Do you guys use the Gamecube controller when playing it? How's the Pro controller?

Is Bidou still something people do? It looked fun.

I forget, how shit was 3ds sm4sh wifi? Wouldn't mind playing vs actual people, but then again I completely suck at this game

That's actually a pretty old picture and a lot has changed with my secondaries, tertiaries and interested.
Still haven't touched Shulk though. He's slow as balls. How could you play that garbage-tier?

Some people say the Pro controller is best for bidou tech, I prefer the normal GC controller.
I'll play you I'm not the best at the game either.

Dunno, I used to main Marth and Roy, but one day I tried playing Shulk and it just clicked. Though I still play Marth as well, and I've been trying to learn Ganon.

mah nigga

Pac man is not the best character but he's extremely fun.

Hail to the King

>Charizard
I feel patches kinda fucked him up to be honest. They made him better, but just turned him into Bowser-light
I would give up every throw change just to get his hurtbox fixed, his walk and run acceleration unfucked, and his linking issues corrected.

My boy Luke

Been playing for a few years but I still don't have a main. My strategy is to flop around between about 20 or 30 different characters and counter-pick. Sometimes I wish I could pick a main but my win ratio is like 70% so I guess I don't need to.

GC's octagonal gates for the sticks is pretty much a must, especially if you use tilt c stick

>win ratio is like 70%
>tfw mine is sub 40%
Did just have some fun on FG though, so looks like there's some merits to picking this back up even if I blow completely at it.

ZSS and Cloud, while fooling around occasionally with Roy

Bowser, always Bowser. I was pleasantly surprised when he turned out to be good in Sm4sh because I've been maining Bowser since Melee. I started playing Bowser back then because I thought it was funny to beat my friends in spite of how bad the ol koopa was. I put so much practice in that Bowser is by far my strongest Melee character- if I play fox, falco, or marth I get creamed but if I play Bowser I at least have a chance. I feel like I'm the only person with this problem

>love Ganondorf as a character
>love how he plays
>really love his design
>love Zelda series even more
>mfw fighting any decent Bayo

I'm not talking about the stupid ones, but half way decent ones. What are you actually meant to do? One mistake and you're comboed.

Bayo is so light git gud

There's no getting around the fact it's a bad matchup for dorf. I can clutch it out sometimes with mixups between dash attacks and side B. If you read techs and rolls well, you can string a bunch of side Bs in a row. And if you're up a stock, don't forget about the suicide option. It's also helpful to note that your up smash has deceptively little ending lag, so you can bait an approach by charging an upsmash and then follow up with another move.

MEGA MEN WHERE WE @

>git gud

I wish

Ok, I'll try that next. Also assume walking is better than running.

megaman main blue signing on

>making a chart like this

Either walking or running, as long as you're mixing it up. Don't shy away from that dash attack, it's a fairly safe option

Who else /waifu/ here?

SSB: DK
Marlee: don't play
Brawl: DK/PT
Project M: Mario/dedede/Ganon
Sm4sh: don't play

you play all the games that aren't played competitively? that's kind of interesting

Thanks man. Hope to get good enough as Ganon to start using him alongside my main. 1/2 of his attacks feel so damn satisfying.

I don't play brawl anymore actually. Not for 5 years. I've only played Melee once and have never played smash 4 because I dont have wii u

>when you get serioius take your gloves off, and your opponent does too

>Start maining Bayonetta day 1 because I like the game
>Have doubts of her viability because neutral game is poor
>Turns out she's S tier broken
I still get butthurt people all the time calling me a tier whore. My other main is Ness and has been for every Smash game so I fucking deserve one top tier character damn it!

Reporting in

Hard Knuckle is best meteor smash

I am starting to think Megs is the best anti-Bayonetta, because he's the only guy I can do decently against Bayo's with

>when your opponent recovers into the flamethrower and they don't react in time and just fall

>1/2 of his attacks feel so damn satisfying.
Don't forget the rare uptilt hit that makes you feel like a god

I disagree, although Megaman is a hard matchup for me, I do better with Bayonetta than with Ness. If they are the spammy buster types I can swoop in for a free witch time.

i main ike
what happened to ryo?

Ness is pretty decent and Bayo covers his bad matchups pretty well, so fair enough

I wasn't proud but I made a guy rage over my Ganondorf at a local. The side-b salt was real. That and killing him at 70% with a well timed F-smash.

Ryo is still around, but I think he's spending more time with Roy these days

This is full of good tips famalam

Robin

>Spells castan
>Books throwan
>Bullshit hitboxan
>Guaranteed 90% deathan
>Downthrowan
>Spamman
>Arc-spells comboan

Feels so fucking good man.
I really hope they don't get rid of him in SSB5, one of my favorite characters to play after Samus (Power armor).
Also has one of the most interesting item mechanics out of them all.

He used to be so good

Ike and Samus
Man, what the hell is the point in playing Ike. Cloud is just better Ike and DK proved he's one of the best heavies. I should just switch to DK and Samus.

...

>When you use flamethrower to set up Ftilt ledgesnap snipes

there's a great Ike main in Japan at the moment, whose tag, weirdly, is "Corrin"

>Mains for SSB
>People posting characters that have appeared from Melee onwards

Desu there isn't much reason to play Ike
Cloud has his advantage state with a much better neutralHe probably even has a better advantage, and Roy has his neutral with a much better advantage.

>OPs pick is from sm4sh
???

>OP's pic is clearly Sm4sh
>Super Smash Bros is the series name in general

Quit being autistic desu~

Corrin feels so fuckin good to play, I don't know why, plus she has a pretty cool moveset

The Corrin joke in this video makes me lose my shit every time.
youtube.com/watch?v=2V_xdzANdzI

SSB is a series too, bumblefuck

Seriously though
Range? Corrin/Cloud
Speed? Roy/Cloud
Hard punishes? Roy/Cloud
Grappler? Bowser/DK
There's no point to playing Ike, but I can't push myself away since I do best with him.

There's something to be said for playing a sleeper character that you really like because you might get lucky and play against someone who doesn't know the MU, then you can wreck em. That's why I've been working on my Wii Fit Trainer and my Palutena

Melee is boring
Th-there, I said it

Ice Climbers.

Ike isn't really a hard matchup if you're unfamiliar with it though. He's got range and power, the end.
Only optimally punishing his recovery is something you just gotta know from the matchup.

Palutena has armored moves and Wii Fit has a hella ledge game, so those are valid as positive when the MU is unkown.

I mained the fuck out of Bowser in Sm4sh.
Too bad For Glory is a pain in the ass.

Anything worth looking at for getting gud in sm4sh, or just practice. Not aiming to be that good, just competent

Depends on who you want to play. Izawsmash has a lot of good videos on competitive smash and guides for characters

practice with people as good or slightly better than you

go to smashladder

Thanks, I'll give them a look

This. There are like two things I catch people off with as Ike: Bullshit hitboxes on f-smash and run off fair for a early kill of ledge.
I'm honestly considering just maining Samus with a secondary Cloud.

You a saint Ganon bro. Thanks. I always find heavy mains tend to be mellow. Dorf, Bowsers, pretty chill players. Bit odd considering they're villains

ZeRo's youtube channel is gospel imo

How am I supposed to DI as Ganondorf against Captain Falcon? He would d-throw and knee or u-air and knee me and no matter where I DI'd I got hit. Help?

Mi hermano, he's always been my all around favorite hero/villain character.

Ness, but I haven't played any SSB in a long time.

Nah m8
His ideas on general fundamentals are good but he's surprisingly retarded when it comes to appraising characters, or just character specific knowledge in general. He'll often say things about a move or character that are objectively and demonstrably false.

Be one with the Kirby user, I will always main him through better or worse.

>He'll often say things about a move or character that are objectively and demonstrably false.
Like what? Yes his opeenions are always changing with the meta but he's the first to admit that.

Weegee is that you?

Then it's not gospel if it's changing dipshit.

I don't think he pays much attention to frame data when it concerns characters that aren't commonly played.
He once said Charizard's bair was safe on block in a patch where it was -24 on block.

Ganondorf. It's satisfying landing an off stage DAir or DSpecial on someone.

>tfw you run into a bayo player that isn't a flowchart fanatic
>they start playing and stringing wicked weave attacks like actual combos in bayo 1
>over the top, flashy, risky as fuck styling options
>actually know how to bat within so any projectiles you use are turned against you
>land witch time on you and don't even attack, they just taunt

That only happened one time in for glory, but god damn if it wasn't awesome. If you're one of those bayos that do nothing but spam witch kick you can go fuck yourself.

He looks so disgusted holding up his clone. As much rap as Sakurai gets, his attention to detail is phenonemal.

>tfw using the hammer to fakeout shitters that spam counter
>if you copy shulk and use a hammer with the power art it kills at 60%

I'm assuming you mean heel slide. And no, I generally save those for people who spam rolls.

Is tr4sh the most autistic community? They take there game so seriously yet it has such a small skill ceiling

>And yet not a single melee player can transition into tr4sh despite it being a lower APM game
Melee is shallow as fuck once you get past the high APM barrier of entry

You can say that about almost any game, regardless of its skill ceiling. Gamers in general are obsessive. Shouldn't make a difference on the skill ceiling, its just a behaviour shared by most.
