What went so horribly wrong?

What went so horribly wrong?

nothing,

The price tag. Who's paying that much for a handheld

Probably the same people who paid the same for the 3ds and then a 3ds xl and then a New 3ds.

memory prices
missing buttons
no monster hunter
dumb UI
bad name and marketing
no proper AV out

It's okay though, the Switch exists and pretty much fixes everything wrong with the Vita. Now they just need to release Monster Hunter on the thing and all will be right in the world.

Except for the D-pad, which the Switch doesn't even really have.

>the Switch exists and pretty much fixes everything wrong with the Vita

except that Switch still has overpriced accessories, is losing third party support, has a dumb UI that's missing software features that even the Vita had, and you can hardly find the fucking Switch for $400 minimum thanks to scalpers.

Nothing. It's the best gaming platform of the last few years.

It destroyed an upcoming magnum opus.

???

I love my Vita!

Horrendously overpriced memory cards

NO GAME

Henkaku on Vita more than makes up for the memory card prices. Pay $50 for a 32GB once, get endless pirated Vita, PSP, PS1, emulator games, etc.

No game is you just play Western shooters

not having monster hunter killed it

i've been watching anime on my vita in bed lately !

It got freedom unite and portable 3rd though, which are arguably more challenging and have more content than the 3DS version Monster Hunters.

Plus Vita has that sweet OLED and dual analog, New 3DS has shitty 240p LCDs and a stiff as fuck C-stick.

Switched consoles mid development. Rushed for Vita release. Game ends not even halfway in. Mere seconds after the final boss is defeated, credits roll.

Sequel's first 2/3 is filler. Finale is rushed through, not feeling deserved as there was no real journey to reach the end.

DLC goes beyond fuck it.

Sony couldnt compete with Nintendo on the handheld front so decided to focus on the console market.

They were in a very unhealthy financial position from their other divisions and need profit from the gaming division, the Vita was a failure and they knew that.

Soul Sacrifice Delta was underrated on the Vita. I hope it gets a sequel for PS4 like Gravity Rush did.

Nothing

The 3DS was released.

that's sad, haven't played it yet, I'm still playing SSD

I remember when 3DS and Vita came out they were the same price as each other. Nintendo immediately damage controlled by dropping the 3DS price nearly in half, rushing out Ocarina of Time 3DS, and pushing out that Ambassador program.

mine stopped turning on basically day one

But they've already bought the superior system...

Lots of things but hacks and piracy redeemed it immediately. If Adrenaline gets full PS1 support, it will be my #1 handheld after the PSP.

>>no monster hunter
How the fuck did this happen? Why did it go to 240p 3DS?
