Dunno, maybe they are used to the atmosphere and their suits/boots help them adapt to other planets. Haven't played Killzone.

Old Halo armor looks cool, especially in the anniversary campaign. It looks practical with the thick metal plates that actually look like armor while the design itself still retains the spacesuit look and something that humanity might actually wear at one point. And also it doesn't have unnecessary floating bits, or lights and shit like 343 armor that just look overdesigned. Its simple and elegant.
