Why is this game so good?
VtMB
A mix of atmosphere, good characters and a compelling story.
The only shit part are the hairs and the last-half were you can see they ran out of money and couldn't finish it properly.
>still no announcement about a Vampire The Masquerade video game
>just that Werewolf The Apocalypse one
FUCK!
But who would be a good fit to make a decent VtM game anyway?
The atmosphere is god tier.
You really feel like a neonate vampire suddenly thrown into a much darker and bigger world.
...
There might be one at the works right now, the furfaggots only got their game because Focus wanted to boast about having a werewolf game at their catalog.
>There might be one at the works right now
By who?
Reading one of the threads on here about this game is what got me to install it, and I was really surprised at how good it actually is. It's like a mashup of multiple different game genres that actually somehow turned out good (with the unofficial patch, anyway).
I don't fucking know. Might be some shitty frog studio, some eastern yuro or even some scandi studio doing it. Obsidian already denied to be working on anything WoD related.
It's really not that amazing, but it does some things perfectly. Very overrated here, underrated a lot of other places. Still play it every October despite its flaws and will until I die.
LaCroix was such a god tier "villain" boss
>be a 200 something years old ancillae
>get appointed a prince of a frontier shithole that is LA
>valiantly attempt to juggle a dozen balls all at once because your elders commanded it
>trying to keep the fragile power balance between the anarchs, kuei-jin, sabbat and your own rebellious vassals from tipping over and fucking the entire city over
>finally find a way to make a personal profit from the shittiest situation imaginable in the form of the sarcophagus
The game was rigged from the start and the poor bastard never had a chance. At least he tried.
It captured late 80s/early 90s "alternative" culture perfectly and there's almost no other game to have done that.
Shame on you.
I feel like CDPR could do it justice, if given a chance.
Sadly, they got Cyberpunk 2077 to develop, and that's going to last at least until 2019.
Why is lacroix so handsome
It's more the early 00s/late 90s feel.
No, it's distinctly late 80s and early 90s, the same era Vampire: The Masquerade originated.
VtM yes, but the video game feels more like late nineties early two thousands, with the bands and some details.
>with the bands
The music is the biggest thing that says late 80s and early 90s in the game. They may have all been currently active bands but the music they do is all shit that was big 15 years earlier than the game was released. One of the bands just remixed one of their old songs from the 80s because they weren't doing that sort of music anymore.
It heavily draws from 80s and 90s films like The Lost Boys, Near Dark, Fright Night, etc. as well as films even earlier like The Shining. The references to anything from the late 90s or early 2000s are few and far between in comparison.
