Will there ever be a good Star Trek game...

Will there ever be a good Star Trek game? Even Star Wars got a couple of good ones despite all the shovelware made for it.

Why is Picard front and center?
Shouldn't it be Kirk?

It should be Kirk alone.
Kirk

Not Kirk

What's your favorite SF episode, Sup Forums?

Play the TNG game on SNES. There ya go.

Damnit OP that's not how you start a ST thread

The one where Neelix guns down the children with his disruptor rifle.

Dumb Cardies

Star Wars had loads of good games because Lucas bet big on vidya with Lucasarts. I don't think CBS/Paramount/Viacom/whoever the fuck owned Trek at any given time ever made any big pushes into development/publishing like Lucasarts.

But there are a couple pretty good Star Trek games. Elite Force was good for its time, Starfleet Command 2 is fun, Birth of the Federation is great even if it's mostly a MoO2 clone...

Friendly reminder that Dukat did nothing wrong.

When will there be a good BSG game?

Elite Force was fucking awesome

Multiplayer community sucked though

Why was Janeway promoted to admiral instead of executed for her war crimes?

Because Starfleet saw her as the captain who got her crew home from across the galaxy, dealt a serious blow to the borg and brought back tons of knowledge and technology.

She wrote the reports so they only know what she told them.

Warcrimes?

Judgement Rites and 25th Anniversary are the shit

The TNG era (TNG, DS9, VOY) is the bulk of Star Trek totaling in 21 seasons of television and 4 movies.
The TOS era is only 3 seasons and 6 movies which take place later. (Abramsverse doesn't count)
Also, TNG was the peak of Star Trek's mainstream popularity. No one watched TOS when it was actually airing, only later in syndication.

Surviving 7 years in an unknown part of space while killing half the Borg is a pretty big feat

>25th Anniversary
>Judgement Rites
>Elite Force
>Starfleet Command
>not good

OP, just because there hasn't been a good one recently doesn't mean there never has been one.

Breaking the prime directive, aiding the borg faction, helping the borg species to commit genocide, giving the holodeck tech to a race after knowing that it can create sentient lifeforms basically condemning them to be slaves, breaking the temporal prime directive in an attempt to destroy all the borg forever

Is Nog /our guy/?

youtube.com/watch?v=PtxEIF6y0JU

Remember when Janeway said they wouldn't trade tech, specifically replicators and weapons? She goes back on that in Scorpion, and trades the Borg (whom the Federation is at war with) a weapon that she knows the Borg will use to try to assimilate (genocide) species 8472 in return for a shortcut through their territory, rather than take the long way around.

What were Picard and the E doing during the Dominion War?

I was excited for the new series when I saw who was cast as the captain but then had my hype sucked away when they said the protagonist is his strong independent black woman #1. Star Trek was never about a protagonist, it was about the crew as a whole.

Eh, we had a white man, a bald French man who doesn't sound French, a black baddest motherfucker in space man, a white woman, and another white man. I'm going to say Jason Issac is going to bite the dust.

Never

There is a good BSG board game.

Diplomatic stuff. I'm pretty sure Insurrection takes place during the Dominion War.

I just want a *good* Firefly game

Remember when Janeway murdered Tuvix who did nothing wrong and was begging for her life just in order to get her two officers back?

>writers made him go full retard in seasons 6 and 7 because they were butthurt that the audience liked him and didn't think he was a nazi

...

Star Trek: Online
awaits you

>demonstrated incredible leadership by keeping her crew sane during seven years of isolation
>successfully navigated an uncharted quadrant and returned home
>never discarded Starfleet principles like Captain Ransom did
>killed Borg queen, blew up their headquarters, and started a civil war within the remaining drones effectively nullifying them as a threat

That deserves decoration and promotion to admiral a lot more than most of the faggot admirals we meet in the series, who all have some evil scheme they're doing in the background.

Remember when Janeway had to run around the ship fighting giant floating viruses?

>Star Trek was never about a protagonist, it was about the crew as a whole.

That went out the window with the Abrams movies. Now it's Star Trek is all about the Kirk/Spock bromance and the rest of the crew are just highly-paid props.

>demonstrated incredible leadership by keeping her crew sane during seven years of isolation
>successfully navigated an uncharted quadrant and returned home
>by neglecting most of the crew suggestions and doing stops to make the travel 'fun' when they could just fly straight back to known space, risking her whole crew in the process

>never discarded Starfleet principles like Captain Ransom did
>by violating the prime directe countlessly, fucking up with the time line, committing genocide and giving a race the means to create slave sentient people

Dominion War is mentioned in the film, so it's either during it in the later stages or after it.

It just doesn't lend itself to games as well as star wars does, with magic space samurai and naz- I mean the empire.

You know, voyager gets shit on a lot, but as a kid I really liked the show.
And TNG, which I also see get shit on lately even though it was super popular back in the day.

kek, that was from this episode:

youtube.com/watch?v=6x1oQJiajB4

...

Starfleet had a corrupt admiral position open and she was the perfect fit.

THIS

It's during because there's a DS9 episode where they talk about how the plastic surgery aliens from Insurrection are collaborating with the Dominion (presumably after Pivard blew their shit up).

What's the ratio of corrupt to not corrupt admirals?

Because it was better to make her admiral, trapped at a desk forever instead of fucking up the galaxy.

100% Corrupt. Even Kirk becomes a bungling dipshit as an Admiral.

This actually makes sense

There was that BSG game on the PS2
Then there was Diaspora for the PC, but that's a mod

Honestly, there's a criminal lack of Battlestar Galactica games. There's so much potential - RTS, FPS and so on.

Admiral Cunt was corrupt too?

Why weren't any of the Federation Enterprises carriers like their US Navy ancestors?

Its shit, though.

No carriers in space.

Pic related.

The Federation didn't have any carriers. In fact there is a pretty big lack of carriers over all in the Star Trek universe. I mean, there are some, but the show has always been about ship vs ship and small scale stuff compared to real naval battles.

There was, but only during war and gene hates war.

...

Picard was also the closet thing to a "real" naval captain Star Trek has ever approached in a character. He was intelligent, confident, an admirer of the fine arts, of history and of literature. He had diplomatic skills. He maintained a proper distance from the crew at all times and wasn't really anyone's "friend" but instead was their leader.

No other captain I believe played this part as well as Stewart did.

"drones"

ha, always liked Q, some epic moments on every one of the great ST series

too bad the actor is a bum nowadays

From what is shown, there are smaller fighter-esque ships but they tend to get obliterated by the weapons of large capital ships because things like phasers don't seem to miss very often.

Its had 5 good ones.

ST Armada 1&2
ST Elite Force 1&2
Star Trek online
ST Bridge Commander
And the classic Starfleet Command

Those are my top trek titles

Admiral Bitchayev is pure

lol look at this horses anus.

I wanna play warmonger Janeway

Kathryn "Commit warcrimes and get away" Janeway

>tfw the Cardassians are a ruined people

youtube.com/watch?v=SM2wy5OKW8s

Maybe if you're retarded...

Couldn't phasers potentially be set to wider array and sacrifice penetration for coverage? That's what bothered me in the new film. I feel like the ship would have some kind of flak system to deal with that swarm.

Beastie boys was still fun though.

They do, there are G-phasers and AMS, phaser turrets also help.

>Constantly touts Cardassian superiority despite the fact that much of their technology is inferior to their rivals. Galor class ships are deployed in groups to compensate for their shit protection and firepower, for example.
>Loses control over a bunch of religious farmers 100 years behind them development-wise and has t abandon the planet
>constantly outmaneuvered by the Federation and even the fucking Klingons
>sold his people into slavery to the Dominion, still fucks things up for them
>prefers dirty bajoran vermin instead of pure and divine cardassian beauties.

Fuck you, Dukat.

But how could she have commited war crimes if there was never a war?

The Federation is in a state of war against the Borg.

I know everyone becomes Admirals cause that's how it goes, but Janeway as an Admiral instead of a Captain? Sisko, I could see. Not really Janeway.

Remember when Janeway was a consistently written character?
Neither do I

I enjoyed the Elite Force games

Remember when Voyager was good?
Neither do I

To be fair, at least she broke the Prime Directive consistently

>Stop shooting at us!!!

characters who did nothing wrong: Dukat, Jellico, Pressman, Netchayev, that old bitch who wanted to kill the crystalline entity, Lal, Professor Moriarty, the Pakled, those weird aliens that fed on humans from 1880s San Fransisco.

kind of worth it for the doctor

>Pakled and Branch Devidians on that list

kek

Why was he suck a dick? Aside for typecasting.

Truly, the finest depiction of Moriarty

I think Sisko did it okay.

He got kinda chummy with his crew but if they ever fucked up boy did he let them have it.

QUICK Sup Forums WHO WOULD YOU RATHER GET DRESSED DOWN BY?

A DISAPPOINTED PICARD:
youtu.be/H7ylbiCuFyw

OR AN ANGRY SISKO:
youtube.com/watch?v=IjvYiSDJujA

He was closer to a real life ship captain than Picard was. You could tell he was a seasoned, grizzled Cardassian fighter like Obrien's captain was in "The Wounded".

Forgot to mention him in my list btw.

I'd like to see some sort of thing on the Federation-Cardassian War.

I do.
>that old bitch who wanted to kill the crystalline entity
Good bait. She was just a vengeful bitch.
>Pakled
kek. Next you're going to say that the Think Tank did nothing wrong.

Her crew did, which apparently empowers the captain to then do whateverthefuck they want to bring things back in line. Including further breaking the prime directive.

Q

Same, Cardassians were a great antithesis to the Federation.

THIS. Judgement Rites and 25th Anniversary are fucking amazing.

Go and play them. Right now.

>5:55 for Sisko
Bullshit, that video should be at least 15 minutes

Oh yeah
You break the Prime Directive, you fix it by breaking it even more
Everyone knows that

>Star Trek: Online
>Install the client
>Client is a massive piece of shit that doesn't even download the game

I wish TNG got more into the hypocritical nature of the federation but it took 5 seasons for Gene to die.

Avery Brooks' acting is too hammy to take seriously.

Now show the one where the Galaxy class ship fights the "drones" of the Jem'hadar.

That would never happen because the writers are shitty hippies like that dead faggot. Guess that's why Dukat was so well loved.
