What does Sup Forums think about Evil Genius?

I think it's a gem, truely a great strategy game of a genre that has really gone down the shitter.

Good taste.

I once created a loop because I noticed the secret agents went through one door.

The door basically leads to a long hallway that goes back to that door.

I think I had ten agents trapped in it.

It was fun for its time but even teen me found it lacking in depth.

It had great visuals, audio, animation and humor, but barely worked as a game.

I used to cheat myself infinite money only for the sake of spending hours designed a lair when I was younger.
No other game has allowed me to do that since then, so I'd say that's bretty gud

they're gonna win DAC

I wish we had more games like No One Lives Forever and Evil Genius.

I've been in the mood to play something like this lately, should I redownload it, or look for something the same vein as it?

The game's mechanics are annoying after a while. If I remember right your entrance had to be a giant fucking maze so they would give up searching and go home.

Anything else like killing them or abducting them and you'd just get more and more agents sent to your base.

Didn't really mean to quote anyone, just a broad question for this chat.

One of the few games, along with Team Fortress 2 and No One Lives Forever, that really exploits the 1960s aesthetic well, or at all. More 1960s games please.

GREAT soundtrack.

Its like the polar opposite of Rimworld and other modern strategy management games
It has great graphics, art style and tons of content, but it's shitty, badly balanced and boring to play
I wish real studios made fun niche games again

Great ideas, catastrophically bad execution. It's like no one in development actually played the game before calling it gold. Money grinding is desperately slow, traps barely harm the weakest agents and aggro all agents that are actually dangerous, agents tend to be prescient about your base layout and always beeline for the nearest room with incriminating evidence in it, agents sometimes aggro for no reason and cause hundreds of thousands in damage, agents escape cells too easily and cause hundreds of thousands in damage, the 'tag and pray' command system is painfully inadequate in any state of emergency, resulting in hundreds of thousands in damage AND usually hours of slowly rebuilding your manpower, missions cause so much heat there's no way in hell you can pull them off without spawning more agents, and then there's the superagent bullshit. Once the Bond feel wears off you're just wasting your time while not having fun.

>Still waiting for sex mod

Play No One Lives Forever for the same style, or Dungeon Keeper for the same gameplay. Or redownload it

>torture that female agent in bikini
>fap

It's not THAT bad, you need some practice first. I even have a text file with tips for myself.

>not giving her the THICC treatment

No, it is that bad.

Your text file is probably at least 50% AI exploits.

Dungeon Keeper is better

you sound like your not very good at the game

No, it's mostly about base layout.

so whats this No One Lives forever game? I'm afraid I've completely missed it, is it good? is it super great and i should get it now?

It's a fantastic shooter with stealth-elements. Great visual style, great sound design and soundtrack, great humor, so many different levels and guns and gadgets. Really recommending.

First NOLF is pretty fucking good.

You missed out mate.

Its austin powers: the fps

Fuck, i know the game is broken, but i just can't stop myself from downloading it again, for like third time.

well fuck, guess i know what im playing tonight

I loved how you could break the whole agents fucking your base by making a fuck ton of those social minions to disorient and just usher out whole fucking platoons of soldiers until there are like 20 enemy's walking around like retards outside your base until their timer for being on the island goes up

I made an actual decent hotel for the sole purpose of having those social minions being already outside to do their weird stuff to the enemies

Recommend me some Bond movies you faggots.

All of them

Watch them in release order with the mindset that no bond is better than another and each bond is a different aspect to the character

Dr No, Goldfinger, The Man With The Golden Gun, License to kill, Goldeneye.

>2017
>Source code is still a mistery

I JUST WANT MY FUCKING MODS TO BE MODS HOLY SHIT

tfw I still play Low earth orbit in NOLF to this day, I have got down to completing it in 6 minutes.

I wish it got a sequel with improved gameplay.

really funny, really fun at the start, super repetitive on the 2nd island.

>speargun only playthrough
>non-lethal
Top fun.

I would make my main entrance a casino, and have the social minions drain agents attention. Past that it was a maze like corridor though.

...Like how, exactly?

If you want better base building, it's basically sim city with a villain lair.

Great style, meh game design, also it's another of these "you gonna be a bad* guy" games.
*Except its silly and comedic, so not really

Better trap system, better world map with actual levels where you do missions, better economy and research. Especially research. More customization, like changing design of rooms, adding furniture, changing lighting.

I want less nuisances like having the island flooded with agents and tourists or being forced to build a maze-like entrance with no option of having "secreet" entrances for the workers and money bags.

One thing I used to do was make a corridor with useless doors on the sides that would go nowhere with security 4 (or 5? can't remember) so that my troops would stand guard. Cool as fuck.

Since we talk about flawed strategy games.
Anyone here played the Movies?

PENGUINS ARE FROM THE SOUTH POLE, BILL

agents are attracted to high security doors, so if you make a small corridor right behind your base entrance with doors that lead to rooms that don't exist with the highest security rating, the agents won't ever even enter your base, they will get swarmed by your minions guarding the doors. Works every time, I never ever get agents inside my actual base, not even super agents.

Overall the game flows and works alot better than Evil Genius though, the only problem is that now matter how much you try most of films will end up looking like some kind YTP.

>tfw still not on gog
I remember it crashed on my W7, anyone fixed it?

Well, "Sniper Elite 4" Rebellion Developments has the Evil Genius IP.

If you can convince them to stop animating "sniper shot in skull" scenes, maybe they'll do an Evil Genius game?

It's fun because of the theme, but the mechanics are mostly repetitive and tiresome.
A competent sequel would be great.

DAMN IT FRANK, WHY YOU HAVE TO SET ME UP LIKE THIS

Red Ivan is the best base defender. Prove me wrong.

Shitty half-assed dungeon keeper ripoff.

This guy sums it up perfectly.

He blows up the whole base with his bazooka. The best is samurai.

I loved it, one of my favorite games of all time.

USING THE FRAT OF BRADE!

>nobody turns up to become an actor after about 20 years
>geriatrics and retrained janitors starring in all the films

There's an exploit where if you don't interrogate the maid that gives you your first social minion, agents wont arrive to your island and you can raise money as long as you want in peace.

Themesong better than any bond.

Evil Genius Theme vs. Snake Eater is much tougher question tho.

I liked the Jubei + Lord Kane combo

>Lord Kane can stop a group of agents in their tracks
>Jubei teleports in and 1 shots most agents and super agents

Think the only people Jubei couldn't easily wreck was Jet Chan and Steele?

I used that exploit a few times too, but it's pretty boring to do, you just put the game on autopilot for a few hours.

Any of the few mods good? Some of them seem kind of cheap.

>He blows up the whole base with his bazooka
That's why you camp with him outside, so when soldiers finish deploying you have a nice little blob to blow up.

I wish there were more games like this
Is it true that there's a sequel in the form of a facebook/mobile game?

that's kind of what you're supposed to do.

A game like this would work really well with Fallout Shelter mechanics
Actually would be even better than Fallout Shelter, shit son time to start working

>soldiers deploying
step your game up, son.

>all these people having a hard time with enemy troops
>not knowing the most simple way of getting around that

Enemy AI is programmed to check out high security doors over low security ones.

forgot to add that with this system, the moment an agents even peeks his head in that corridor, your henchmen will all rush him and knock him down on his ass in a 1-2 seconds.

>I think it's a gem
Yep, it's a gem.

>Is it true that there's a sequel in the form of a facebook/mobile game?

Yes. it got shut down in February.

It's a shame I forgot it existed, apparently some people were hoping they've make money of that to create a sequel.
