Are there Volus in Andromeda? This is very important.
DING
I don't think so but idk
No, but there are not_collectors and fishcatpeople
Most of the non-citadel species are not in andromeda. Actually its only Humans, Turians, Salarians, and Krogans (don't know how the krogans got there).
They said the other species are supposed to be a second wave kind of thing, so in a sequel they might appear. But knowing Bioware today, and the reputation of quarians, they might try to keep them out.
>Krogans
"""""female"""""" krogans aka frogs that sound like flamboyant gay men
no, volus are a problematic caricature of the jewish people and have no place in a diverse, non-prejudiced safe new galaxy
>Krogans (don't know how the krogans got there).
I don't know, it's almost like they were on the Nexus to begin with
DONG
I just beat the game and there was a audio log of the ark with the Quiarians, Volus, Hannar, and others on its way but got stuck or lost.
>and others on its way but got stuck or lost.
yes....how convenient....
I wish they'd either brought across all the old milky way races or started with just humans but include a plethora of brand new Andromeda races. Not this half-assed compromise where you've only got a limited selection of the most overplayed basic-bitch aliens from the original saga and then only two new races, only one of which is even half way interesting with the other just being generic bad guy star trek aliens. I actually think Bioware's failure in this regard is worse than the animations.
Like every Ark except the Humans's

BANNU
I am a biotic god!
playing though the series now. ones gameplay is pretty awful but playble. becomes a joke ones you get high end weapons and right ability's.
2 really butchered the RPG with how they handled the skill tree and no loge customize your guns.
I smell DLC
Did they even introduce any new alien species besides the villains?
Little spoiler:
A lot of races are not yet in Adnromeda, but:
>Quarian Ark DLC soon
>Volus and other races are coming too, but probably not with the Quarian Ark DLC
>After the ending you even have a short distressed call from the Quarian Ark which means that the Quarian Ark will be a post game experience
Yeah, there's the angara but they're not very interesting. It makes sense to only introduce one race since you're only exploring a small corner of the galaxy but then they reveal the obligatory advanced ancient race that vanished actually created the angara in pods so really they could have made any number they desired
Also the new guys never really get the spotlight all that much, the vast majority of the time it's focused on the old Milky Way races.
>game's selling point is that you're moving to a different galaxy to encounter new and interesting races
>only introduce one, focus on all the old races
doesn't make much sense to me.
RINE ENDS HERE
Nothing about the story makes any sense. I mean, it makes sense insofar as events flow linearly from one to the next. But every decision Bioware made about the setting and the events within is the absolute least creative way they could have approached it. It is basically the same plot they have been rehashing since KotOR in every way. Nothing new at all.
What's worse is that despite the whole "galactic wild west" marketing angle, there's no sense of discovery whatsoever, everything is either downplayed or rehashed
You just found a new species that no one ever heard of, intelligent and sentient and no one is even surprised they exist, nothing, they just act as if they knew all along the angara existed
Also they spend hours on how kett are mutated angara and how this makes it terrible for them to fight, despite human husks being literally the first enemy you kill in the first Mass Effect
Despite the whole open world meme, there's so very little attention to detail in the writing
wait, did they seriously recycle the plot twist about the collectors from ME2 for andromeda?
Yeah. I thought the Kett were a cool idea at first, basically taking the best traits from, according to their leader, over a thousand races and combining them into one. You even find notes in one of their labs about which traits they plan to steal from the Milky Way races. There's a lot of potential there. They also kind of wrapped it up in a religious dogma but that idea is kind of aborted.
Then there's a REALLY goofy scene where a bunch of brainwashed Angara get in these pods and then come out of the pods and then the bad guy's second in command stabs them in the shoulders with syringes and their veins turn black and then they mutate into a Kett foot soldier. And everyone in your squad freaks out about how insane this is but every Bioware game has body snatcher villains so who gives a shit at this point?
The blight and red lyrium in Dragon Age, husks, collectors and now Kett in Mass Effect. Why is Bioware so obsessed with this trope?
