There's a reason why swords have always been the weapon of choice for heroes and nobles and legends. Spears just make you look rank and file unless you get fancy and spinny with it.

Swords always look good. Whether you're the noble king with a sword passed through his family for generations drawing it from your scabbard as you lead the charge or you're a humble farmboy going on an adventure with a simple sword made by your village's blacksmith, drawing it as you brave the dangers of a cave, the sword always looks good.

Depends on the game really. If spears get armor penetration I go with them, if they're just swords with longer reach and slower attack speed the I go sword. Either way I prefer axes.

No, it has nothing to do with /fa/ggotry bullshit.

The reason is that it's pretty fucking hard to carry a spear 24/7 since it's big, cumbersome and would interfere with common day-to-day tasks. Meanwhile sword can be carried comfortably without any issues.

Spears tend to be really shit and under-represented in vidya.

Even if we are talking 1v1, there is very little you can do aganist someone with a spear in a tight corridor. You don't need room to thrust.

Fantasy RPG Angry Birds with waifus, that has you fling your initial cast of humans at monsters, get impregnated, and then pop out monstergirls to use in your party. Pretty good game that even has a decent variety of animations for characters and monstergirls screwing the same monster

No, in reality the spear was considered a "commoner" weapon and swords were for the nobility.

Think about the investment required to make a spear as opposed to a sword. You could just attach a sharp piece of metal to a stick and get a spear, whereas with a sword you had to actually have it forged.

That said, plenty of heroes of legend used spears or other weapons.

Swords are more interesting overall, from actually using them to designwise. Spears have most of the interesting bits at the business end, and they are all used in similar fashions despite their designs.
