Anything on Steam's anime sale worth buying?

Anything on Steam's anime sale worth buying?

It's impossible to browse through it all. "Anime" is basically every Japanese game being on sale.

Rabi Ribi

fucking weebs kys

>Anything on Steam's anime sale worth buying?
Yes.

This

Limit it to games and look through the first few pages.

valkyria chronicles

Is there any way to exclude tags? Like visual novels, and free games.

Finally bought Skull Girls. It's fun if you don't have it yet.

>"Anime" is basically every Japanese game being on sale.

Dark souls isn't on sale.

Huniepop, the best non japanese anime game.

Came here to post this.

And if you're into VNs, buy fault.

>RPGs
Phantom Brave (Gem from NIS, never got quite the acclaim that Disgaea did, but I really like the plot that's not so balls to wall ridiculous)
Fortune Summoners (Sidescrolling RPG with main cast being little girls. Pretty good action, and decent fantasy setting)
Neptunia games (These are generally kinda trashy JPRGs made with shoestring budget, but if idea of playing as different consoles personified as cute girls going on stupid adventures, go for it)
Tales of Symphonia (JRPG to end all JRPG cliches. It uses every trope in the book, but does so in very sincere way. The battle system isn't turn based, but compared to newer games in series is kinda clunky. Still, you can get this for dirt cheap right now)

>Fighting Games
Melty Blood (The anime fighter, it's just really fucking good. Shame for lack of story mode from earlier versions)
Guilty Gear games (The series has pretty decent ongoing plot, but there's active player community only on the newest version, take that as you will)
Blazblue (Same deal as Guilty Gear, but you can pick whole series for less than ten dollars)
Arcana Heart 3 (Your friends may make fun of you for playing fighting game with all female cast, but it's fucking great)

>Just generally good games
Valkyria Chronicles (Very nice light third-person tactics, with very unique art stuyle)
Recettear (How can you not own Recettear yet)
Princess Maker 2 (Very oldschool raising sim, your mileage may vary)
Death Smiles (Very good introduction to Cave's shooters, and has loads of content)

Lots of these have gone on sale in the past, so I'd be surprised if you don't own many of them yet. Still, that's my recs.

Momodora: Reveries Under the Moonlight
Megaman Legacy Collection

Back to Facebook

I don't know, I just know the first few pages have the decent stuff, and then there's a point where it tapers off into trash indies and Vns.

Thanks. Blazblue was one I had planned to grab- I haven't played it since the very first PS3 release.

Oh, adding some visual novels.
Dengeki Stryker (Hot-blooded hero action, with sweet soundtrack. Uses some genre tropes like hero living next to baddies peacefully and neither side realizing other's secret identity, just really good stuff)
Dranganronpa (Not pure visual novel, but has some action segments too, but generally a VN. Focused on murder mysteries, second game is much stronger but first one is fine too, and there's ongoing plot so you should get both)
VA-11 Hall-A (Really nice western VN with bar setting. The discount isn't very big though, so you might want to wait on this)
Higurashi (No actual choices, but the mystery and tone in this series is fantastic. Again, the discount isn't steep but you can pick up the first chapter for cheap and buy more later if you enjoyed it)
Clannad (Classic of highschool romances. There's tons of choices and routes, so this is very stereotypical romance comedy VN. If you're into these, definitely a good pick)
Grisaia (Another really good highschool based one. Characters are really good, and this has probably the best comedy out of translated visual novels)
Sonicomi (Photography game focused on Sonico, all about Sonico. It's actually pretty fun, with different routes and your performance in gameplay sections having impact on the story)
Kindred Spirits (Absolutely fantastic yuri-story. If you are fan of genre, I'd tell you to buy this right away, too bad the discount is so low)

That should do it for a while. Generally I suggest against buying Sakura games, those are rubbish.

Is Steins;Gate any good?

Someone take this from me and get me some cheap weebshit.

...Yes. I was going to add it at start, but then noticed the low discount and decided not to. But at the end I was adding the more expensive ones anyway.
But yeah, it is good. One of the better visual novels available on Steam.

Recettear is literally the only good game on the sale.

What? Melty Blood has no story mode?

Add to that Umineko , MuvLuv and Sound of Proof: Fall into poison

Is VA-11 Hall-A any good?

I love it, but if you're not into VN type games, it might not be for you. It's basically a visual novel where you mix drinks for customers in between conversations. It's extremely comfy, and has a great soundtrack. You can influence people based on how drunk you get them. If all that sounds good to you, try it out. Worse comes to worse you don't like it and can refund it.

It has generic arcade mode with some events for characters, which is about the kind of story you can usually expect in fighting games. What I meant was that first versions of the game had actual visual-novel styled story mode with different branches, and results of fights and your choices affecting the outcome.
Yeah, it is good. Soundtrack is also excellent.

Will I like it if the only VNs I've read are FSN, Tsukihime, S;G, and Bible Black?

You'll enjoy if you enjoyed Please Bang My Wife.

Even devil may cry is listed as anime. What the fuck.

>implying DMC isn't anime as fuck

Valkyria Chronicles
HDN Neptunia Rebirth trilogy and MegaDimension
DMC 4 SE
Fairy Fencer F ADF
Huniepop
Recettear
Mushihimesama if you like bullet hells

If you like VNs then I'd suggest If My Heart Had Wings (get the patch to restore content) and Higurashi. Higurashi doesn't have any input on the story, but it's a good read if you like horror and suspense. Each Chapter is really cheap, too.

>white-haired young man with giant sword doing acrobatics while fighting demons and talking shit all day long
>not anime

Come the fuck on.

Devil May Cry has an actual anime adaptation so its alot more fitting then alot of the shit listed as anime

Hay guyz...

>the Ys games, the games that opened the floodgates to "anime" games on Steam by showing that you don't have to be a cheap indie game like Recettear to be successful, aren't on sale
What did Valve mean by this?

>There are people browsing Sup Forums RIGHT now who still don't have Recettear

Why the fuck isn't the berserk game on sale, come the fuck on steam.

>Expecting a game that just came out to go on sale

How is Phantom Brave for PC? Better than the PS2 version?

Falcom's not into taking part in just any sale, despite xseed knowing better.

Fine, why is DMC4 on sale but not the others. I'm mad, I can forgive berserk.

>not including long live the queen

F.E.A.R. is confirmed for anime. Buy the first game with the expansions; it's excellent.

SALAD DODGING

I bought disgaea knowing nothing about it, and so far it's pretty good. The characters are fucking bizarre, but the game plays kinda like final fantasy tactics.

the localizers crashed down with no survivors when they went full cuck over bath towels in loli summoners and are pretty much dead

i don't know if the japs still receive revenue from it so i'd pirate it instead just in case

better spend money on Rabi Ribi. sekai project is equally cucked but the taiwanese devs did superb job and made lots of free dlc

Any other game by the maker of long live the queen worth playing?

>and are pretty much dead
Sadly they stopped his suicide attempt.

It's kinda shit.
It doesn't have actual route branching and no action to speak of, but I liked the characters a lot.

>capitalism

How's world end economica?
Worth $14 for the 3 episodes?

>There are faggots who STILL bitch about towels

Hate them because that one fag almost killed TitTS2. You don't need to be fake-outraged, you know. Christ.

Black Closet is alright. There's a free demo on Hanako's website.

>one fag almost killed TitTS2
how?

Thanks user!

The guy who gets triggered by lolis slacked off on editing the translation for SC for years until Xseed was threatening legal action, then tried to kill himself. Xseed had to finish the game themselves and his script was not only fucking terrible and frequently incorrect but the entire thing was in the wrong file format so they basically had to start the entire thing over from scratch aside from the translation.

TiTS FC bombed on PSP since everyone pirated it.
Xseed handed the script for TiTS SC to Carpe Fulgur since that was the only way they could afford to pay to have it translated since the script was huge.
One dude did the translation, the other did the editing. Having to edit over a million Japanese characters was too much for him so he stopped doing it for months (maybe even a year, I don't remember) then pretended he was going to kill himself in the most melodramitic fashion possible.
Xseed took what they had back and finished up the work on it. The person translating did their part pretty much on time so it was completely the other guys fault.
Oh and he screwed up on the formatting anyway so Xseed had to pretty much redo everything themselves.

I picked up Sound of Drop. Pretty decent for $5.

>Carpe Fulgur

I know it's a meme around here but is RPG Maker MV any good?

I don't have some extravagant game planned out I just want to fuck around an see what I can make.

If it wasn't for neofags, goons would still be the most cancerous people on the internet.

Any VN's on sale with lots of choices to make? Played an H game recently, and loved all the branching paths I could take along with the story in it. So I have a craving for another VN now.

I was going to get Higurashi Ch 1 but I read a review that said there were no choices in it. Which kinda draws me off.

100% this

Overrated imo. Only worth if you've got yuri fever.

How could you not know about Disgaea?

why isn't akiba's trip on sale?

Well would be helpfull if you tell us what you're into.

Higurashi is a great VN, I mean I love choices too but it's a great series that I would still suggest.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
Danganronpa 2: Goodbye, Despair
Disgaea 2 PC
Phantom Brave PC
Princess Maker Refine
Princess Maker Refine 2
Rabi Ribi
Long Live the Queen
Tales of Berseria

Looking at a few games before the sale ends.

How is Valkyria Chronicles? I really like Disgaea and Fire Emblem so it seems up my alley.

Is the Legend of Korra game any decent? I really like the show and its made by platinum can't really get too ripped off for 4 bucks too much.

Is the Ace Attorney anime worth buying?

Its worth a watch, it follows the first game very closely with some less important stuff cut out for times sake.

>Buying anime

>Not supporting Capcom when they do something good for once.

Shit man, Dengeki Stryker sounds rad as fuck. I should probably try it out.
Not buying the Steam version though since there's not even an uncensor patch, fugg.

Is the towel thing the only thing they censored or is there more?
Because honestly, this seems so minor to me and I would not even be mad if they just went out and said well shit people, sorry, we want to change this for the western market. It's understandable and it's minor enough to be overlooked but they just had to go full fucking retard, didn't they.

Why the fuck did I spend 23 hours playing this game.

>Tales of Symphonia
I've only played Vesperia. How is Symphonia gameplay-wise in comparison?

>anime
>worth buying

when have fedoras ever expressed this opinion

It's somewhat more basic since it's pretty much the first 3D Tales as far as I know but if you ever played a game in the series and find the combat somewhat enjoyable, you'll most likely enjoy this one too.

Rabi-Ribi or Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition? They're both around the same price and are both right up my alley. Also, any opinions on War of the Human Tanks? I've played the demo and it seems pretty neat, being battleship with movable pieces, but I'm wondering if anyone has played it in this thread and can tell me if quality ends up dropping later on in the game. For clarification, I plan to buy the first two games.

For me its just fucking retarded. Why the fuck would you wear a towel in the fucking water? You are just going to soak the fucking thing.

What point in the Naruto story does Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 and 4 fall under (as, in how far into the anime does it take place)? Currently watching the fan-cut NarutoKai now that the anime is over but quality is kinda garbage.

I suppose I'll get it then since it's pretty cheap. Worst case scenario I can always ask for a refund

>Disgaea 2 and Phantom Brave but not Disgaea 1
Huh. Why is that? Is it too basic or something like that?

Earth Defense Force 4.1 is actually really good, especially if you can round up some buddies to play with.

You should love VC then.

Korra is okay. If you like the show you can't go wrong.

Are the One Piece games on sale?

Valkyria Chronicles
Long Live the Queen
Capre Fulgar Collection

Only Burning Blood.

Different user, but Disgaea 1 is rough around the edges despite having wacky charm. The sequels refine and polish all aspects of the gameplay.
That said, D1 has my favorite monster and weapon designs of the series.

VC is great. Take a look at the gallian crossfire too.

>Gallian Crossfire rebalance mod, if you've explained VC as "easy" and "scout rush" then this is "fuck your shit we're the empire". This makes the game hard as fuck to the point you will most likely not get A ranks your first way through, no matter how hard you try.

I've eyed VC a little, the game looks pretty nice but the Steam trailer showed no gameplay at all. So then, how's the gameplay? Is it your typical grid-based SRPG? Or does it have any twist to it?
How is it in the /k/ department?

It's not typical but it is a srpg. Make sure you get the gallian crossfire mod to make it Very challenging and fun instead of a cake walk.

No grids, each unit has a run limit per turn. While moving on the field, no other units can move, friendly or enemy, but the enemy can still shoot at you. The same rules apply to the enemy. When it's one of their units turns, all of your units will freely shoot at them if it crosses any of your units' line of sight.

essentially, you drain action points as you run around the battlefield. each time you select a character you spend a command point and get to go to the field to maneuver, shoot a gun, toss a grenade, etc. you get one action to perform each time to take over a character. line of sight plays a lot into it so you can tactically use your environment in fun ways.

the guns are all right. you don't really shoot it but once but the character will fire all shots in the magazine/clip. over a certain distance some shots will miss, headshots take off a lot of health, etc.

It's like a third person shooter of sorts. There's a bunch of different weapons, most classes have two or three different weapon trees with advantage/disadvantage (mag size, damage, acc, etc.) also you can get enemy weapons from elite enemy units. They're all made up though. Oh and you get to pilot a tank as well.

>buying to supporting Capcom
