Nier: Automata does a pretty good job with the existential stuff, maybe not super trippy though
Killer 7 is trippy and existential, but it's not really sci-fi

Vangers: One for the Road
Old Russian game that has the most insane sci-fi plot. The game is incredibly weird, and quite unlike anything I have ever played. It's sort of an open world driving game set in the far future where humankind and an insectlike species have merged. The visuals and settings are all quite psychadelic, and there are lots of extremely interesting takes on alternative interpretations of biology. To give an example, each of the planets has quite a different ecosystem that the controlling species of the planet have codified into what resembles religious practices.
The game itself does a ton of things I've never seen any other game do. AI can actually get ahead of you in the main quest. Learning and understanding the alien ecosystems is essential to progressing. You can actually get completely different perspectives on the entire history of the game world from the perspective of each faction if you talk to everyone.
The game was forgotten in it's time outside of Russia, but it's honestly one of the most incredible games I've ever played. Of course, the buggy programming, unintuitive UI, overwhelming amount of incomprehensible vocabulary kept it from ever getting anything but cult appeal, but I think it's one of the greatest hidden gems in video games.
There's a point and click puzzle game but I forget the name. It's about alien gods and illuminati stuff
Silent Storm
do you perhaps have working torrents for vangers, precursors and/or any other russian game you can think of that's a bit hard to find? i don't mind if it's a russian version only.
It's on steam and gog. It's cheap too.
so no
The Void. It's also a bit plot twisty but it's trippy existential madness distilled into a ghoulish nirvanic quest to get your spiritual dick wet in a nightmare labyrinth deep within the human soul beyond time and space.
This game is fucking nuts frankly. I can't make much headway in it but it's a remarkable product.
Old graphic adventure games can be great for this sort of thing. I'm thinking of the Rama game specifically. Standard problems of the genre apply, clunky clunky interface, terrible puzzles, and just moving around can occasionally be infuriating. But ho boy is there payoff if you love that trippy atmosphere.

God I hope this game turns out to be decent at least.
Don't get spoiled, just play it
Also play it like a normal shooter at first and just put a bit into hacking, everything else into endurance and agility and some accuracy to unlock the bear killer
I hope this game turns out at all.
>will release in two parts
Bad sign.
>will release the first part in early 2017
>1Q 2017 is over and no release
>no demo
>no recent updates on development
>no new trailer even
I really have doubts that it would be good game anyway but the look and effort is cool enough that i just hope it is not vapor.
Think of it as like a dystopian sci-fi flavored Serious Sam type FPS with customizable difficulty, mind bending plot, a whole bunch of hacking and magic and shit to learn, beautiful artstyle, and some of the most satisfying gunplay in any source game. And ok legs.
