Mass Effect is one of those series that people get passionate about, it's hard for them to admit it's a disappointment to the series. Casuals in particular defend it as they lack the ability to recognise a poorly made game, they just want to fuck squadmates and shoot things. As long as they can do that they'll ignore the fact the game is a pile of shit.

I'm disappointed in the game, yes. But it's not 100% horrible.

The animations are a JOKE. They are extremely bad. Some of the dialogue syncing is out of line as well. It's really horrible at times.

The performance is really poor. The dialogue is poor.

The UI is just.. It makes me want to rage.

The side quest FETCH QUESTS IS RIDICULOUS.

The one thing that I DO like, is the graphics. There is some hidden beauty to it. Specifically Havarl. Eos can suck a fuck. Got tired of desert places with Mad Max.

Snow planet is extremely beautiful after you 'clear' it out with the Vault.

Uhhhh.. What else... Iunno. If they fixed the animations, made the dialogue less cringy, fixed the optimizations it'd be a 8/10.

Right now it's a 5/10 for me. It does somethings right, but a lot of it is bad.

It's weird as hell. The games I actually enjoy are almost entirely neckbeard-fluffing grognard shit like Battle Brothers but I had a really relaxing time settling in to play some retarded DAI for a few hours every evening. I probably shouldn't because I never liked Mass Effect as much as Dragon Age anyway, but I still feel the compulsion.

I had fun playing it but even I'll admit it was a fucking bad game in general. The writing is fucking awful, the voice acting is shit for the most part and the animation everyone already knows about.

I still played and beat it but by the end I was glad that shit was over.

I'm not only shocked they made a companion worse than Jacob or the Virmire Survivor, but that idiots are actually defending it.

It says a lot about this game's terrible writing that Peebee is only the third worst crew member. 5th if you count the Tempest crew

Not him, but I'd be upset because this isn't some indie game company. They have a standard that THEY set with previous games and so I'm going to hold them to it. Hell if they had to delay it like breath of the wild and release it when it was ready, and not try and cram what they can before a deadline, I'd be okay with that.

The game is mediocre. Animations are usually cited as proof because its the easiest thing to see, but the writing and overall design is also pretty bad. Now we have people saying that the animations were outsourced, as if bioware games never had animation problems. Point is, bioware games have been bad for a while and people are finally waking up.

Why would they show this if it looks so fucking bad?

This and plenty of these other horrible things could have been covered up with clever editing, but no its just all there for everyone to see

If that's the case, that makes it even more colossally stupid that they shipped the game like this when character animations should be so important to a game where the strengths are character interactions and when it was so certain the game would be savaged by the internet with facial interactions this bad. Also, the longer the game's animations take to be fixed, (when that probably won't happen), indicates how difficult this is to solve, or how little EA actually cares about quality.
