What does it say about nintendo as a company that the best, most feature rich emulators are for their consoles? Dolphin, p64, now CEMU on the rise. If SO MANY PEOPLE have no interest in buying your hardware shouldnt that be a big clue that its time to try something else? With this and the switch bombing hard will nintendo *finally* make the intelligent business move and start putting their games on proper consoles?
What does it say about nintendo as a company that the best, most feature rich emulators are for their consoles? Dolphin...
If they did that then they would be basically dead in a year or two like Sega.
>hasn't realized they already stealth left the console market for handhelds
They're done with consoles. It's a tablet with a dock that's HDMI out and they're going to cannibalize the 3DS's franchises and developers.
>but it's not a 3DS replacement!
Yeah, just like how they said they wouldn't kill the Wii U- oh...
As long as phones continue to btfo consoles in software profits then Nintendo will never become a third console barely distinguishable from its competitors. Have to have gimmicky hardware to justify it when these days people carry a device used for their everyday needs that is already capable of playing games.
On the contrary, if Nintendo didn't develop said systems that they optimize their games for, the emulator makers would have nothing to work with.
Also, in reality, Switch has been breaking sales records left and right both in Nintendo's hardware history and in general.
>What does it say about nintendo as a company that the best, most feature rich emulators are for their consoles?
People want to play their games the most.
Why does Sup Forums want the switch to fail so hard?
They make some of the best games, I'm just waiting a bit before buying a switch.
>They're done with consoles.
>make most of their first party games bigger budgeted experiences like Zelda BotW (which is a console game on Wii U), MK8Deluxe (also a console game on Wii U), Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2 (prequel is a console game on Wii U and this looks to match it in fidelity) and Mario Odyssey
Switch may be a souped up Wii U, but it's more than welcome compared to a true dedicated handheld like the 3DS's shoddy 240p screen or Vita's 544p screen (though the OLED is pretty nice on 1.0 Vita).
>Why does Sup Forums want the switch to fail so hard?
The launch hardware was shoddy and Sup Forums's local consolewarriors want to push the buttons of Nintendo fanboys to cause even more zealous shitposting over fucking plastic boxes that play games on a cartridge/disc.
the switch is acutally bending inside the dock
>What does it say about nintendo as a company that the best, most feature rich emulators are for their consoles?
That people want to play their games.
>The launch hardware was shoddy
You mean the same few units that are persistent in any console launch?
I remember having to send in my launch Wii because it stopped turn on, but having no such issues with Wii U and Switch.
It's way more powerful than the 3DS but the Switch is still a handheld. It's an actual tablet. But the idea that handhelds are cheap budget peripheral devices is why they're marketing it as a console.
Was just thinking this. People love their games. And would love to play their games without hardware limitations.
I own Nintendo consoles I love them. But I would also love to play BOTW in full HD and a solid framerate with japanese voice acting and english subtitles.
you have to consider japan tho, japanese people like these gimmicks very much. it seems to me like nintendo fails to understand that their biggest costumer base is america, they are slowly making that transsition tho just look at super mario run.
>give examples of games that are impossible to appear on 3DS without sacrificing lots of removal of textures, resolution and frame rate
>it's still a handheld
C'mon user.
>games on proper consoles
It will never happen, they will never develop to Sony and Xbox is nonexistent in Japan, if the Switch fails they either come with a new handheld, or go mobile only
>nintendo *finally* make the intelligent business move and start putting their games on proper consoles
The WiiU gives them a profit
You're kind of just going in circles here and your mindset is the only reason they're marketing it as otherwise. It's a handheld because it's a literal tablet aka a portable device.
>Switch
>bombing hard
since when?
The Switch is bombing? That must be why it's so hard to find one
