Replay Genealogy of the Holy War

>replay Genealogy of the Holy War
>decide to pair Sylvia with Claude to make her son a respectable healer
>get convo between the two of them
>Sylvia says she was an orphan from a young age and was taken in
>Claude says that his sister was abducted when she was an infant and he never saw her again
>look at Sylvia's stats
>she has minor holy Blaggi blood
>Claude has major holy Blaggi blood
>they're in love

why is there so much fucking incest in this game?

It's a story about nobility and royal bloodlines where the characters's offspring become the main cast for the second half of the game. What the fuck did you think it was going to be about?

>Magical badass weapons are dependent on having a dominant trait for that particular house.
No wonder these people have to have so much incest. Hell the Dozel's are going to have to do a whole lot of cousin fucking to get a major blood child again.

If they were siblings wouldn't they both have major holy blood? I haven't played FE4 so maybe I'm uneducated and only one person gets the major blood or something.

Apparently no, Altena has major and Leif has minor

It's funny since unless you kill her off entirely, he's her best pick too.

Brothers and Sisters go well together I suppose.

Lachesis only has minor too despite her brother being major as well.
Apparently in the original draft Ares was secretly going to be the son of Lachesis and Eldigan. Yes, there was going to be more incest.

Jugdral is pretty much a Dark Ages setting, so it's used in a way that fits the setting/themes of the story/worldbuilding, unlike, say, Fates

ENRICH'D

i think is sweet and lovely putting aside the incest stuff, better than awakening love for sure

>Implying the blood relation doesn't make it more sweet and loving

First born children get major blood. That is one reason why Cyas was created in Fe5. To explain why Julius didn't have major Fala blood.

image source? i am sure i have seen this but where

Yep, also to explain where it went and to be a huge dick during battles.
It could have been written off as Loptyr blood being more evil and potent and the Major Loptyr overriding the Major Fala though.

Also, if both have the same holy blood both children get major.

Clearly the group should start controlling their mating pairs in order to create a race of super god children that have every single Holy Blood.

>FE2 of all things is getting a remake

So then. It's nearly time for FE4.
How will they fuck it up, Sup Forums?

by not letting you pair Ares with Altenna

>Not pairing Ares with his sister Nana

hey man, the final boss has demon powers because of incest, can't blame the heroes for fighting fire with fire

It doesn't matter how hard the japs fuck up the remake, it's the localisation that is guaranteed to be botched because you can't imply incest in glorious pure western nations, and FE4 is 92% incest, and 8% Sigurd dick-slapping his way through the continent.

eventual FE6 remake, yea or nay? Keeping in mind that it never came out in english and that Roy is the second most popular male character in the series

It'll probably happen but they'd need to go through FE4 and FE5 first with new games interspaced as well both before FE4+5 and after so it would probably be at least another decade.

>No matter how they do it they'll fix the "bug" where Celice and Julia can get married

I hope Thracia gets a decent remake, but they've shown very little love for it in a while

It's getting a set in Cipher soon at least.
Surprisingly Sacred Stones gets the least amount of attention nowadays.

If they do they better fucking let Roy promote earlier. Ike promotes long before getting Ragnell in FE9, so hopefully with the precedent set they'll be willing to do it.

Ares is for Lene.

Roy being an ineffective VIP is a valid design choice. Calling it a flaw because it gets in the way of your roflstomping is shallow.

that's because Japan isn't huge on it

FE Heroes put some more focus on FE4 and FE8 with their Brother-sister/Incest-joke focus they had for a while, so at least IS is thinking of them.

I really like the story and characters to Sacred Stones. It's a shame it is so flawed.

this thread reminded me that the only way to have a good FE thread on Sup Forums is to make the OP about Genealogy and not namedrop Fire Emblem at all

That would be nice, but I doubt it if they just do a remake.

He's the first Lord in the series to be that worthless though. I don't deny it can be a design choice to keep your main character as something weak to move around, protect and be mindful of but one wonders if it was a purposeful decision.

That's because the usual retards don't even know what it is

Does anyone have a TRS ISO with the new translation they'd be willing to share?

There have been multiple good Fire Emblem threads over the past month or so though. Ever since Heroes came out it split the threads between Heroes/waifu posting and actual discussion.

You're right about Heroes splitting the discussion, and I'm thankful for that. But without fail in each thread there's shitposting about Echoes and the same old new v. old arguing

>but I doubt it if they just do a remake.
Yeah, after Shadow Dragon I won't hold my breath for a high-quality remake with effort put into it, but we'll see after Shadows of Valentia.

Wasn't the FE3 remake really good though? Shame they didn't localize it due to how badly received the terrible Shadow Dragon was.

it was bretty good, started the MU trend but I thought it wasn't too egregious, good difficulty and decent content additions with the remake

It was even more flawed than SD and certainly inferior to the original, most of the people who praise it haven't actually played FE3.

Technically FE7 started the MU phenomena, but I guess you're right that the trend started going thanks to FE13.

You mean cousin

He was originally written as her half-brother

...

anyone have a screenshot of FE5 "IN AMERICA!"

>Supporting cut content
Not to say that 12 was any better but it sure fucking played better than 3.

...

What a fucking horrible translation.

Except the FE Treasure site confirms that they are distant cousins. Still minor incest, but not full siblings incest.

Right, just like Lucina and Owain just become "companions" when paired.

They didn't even keep the spelling of names consistent.

Wait wasn't that suppose to be the case for Eldigan and Lachesis instead?

Maybe, since it would explain why they were allowed by the writer to have Ares together.

...

...

Considering that was a translation change, it's not the same. Beats me why they would censor incest in a game that was already filled with it.

You'd think that Claude would be able to find what happened to his sister through the Blaggi Tower.

We need a FE4 remake.

Is...that a pair of siblings whose parents were also half-siblings in that family tree I spy there?

This seems normal and not at all strange.

>implying they won't add an MU
>implying they won't add a new Holy Blood for the MU, or let you pick your own Holy Blood combination
>implying the MU wouldn't survive the first gen
>implying everyone wouldn't suck the MU's dick

No, no FE4 remake.

They probably won't. Seeing as Shadow Dragon and Echoes are a bit too faithful to its original games.

You have any evidence in game of this rather than just some website?

They couldn't leave in all the incest though.

Jugdral games have the best fanart

Echoes doesn't have a MU does it?

I don't think so, but it certainly does have some good stuff.

They could in the Jap version. Treehouse and 8-4 are the problem for the western versions.

Yeah, but FE12 shows they don't always do straight remakes.

Besides, FE4 was the game that introduced marriage and children. You honestly think they wouldn't use that as an excuse to add an MU?

>MU gets added
>Whoever the MU waifus in gen 1 gets brainwashed and fucked by Arvis

It would be glorious but it would never happen.

It might be nice to see a MU character that does get killed off, forcing you to use your child unit instead.

I mean, the game is better off without it. But it would be a nice sucker punch for people that didn't know.

>new fans on Sup Forums make threads whining about their MU being incinerated in Chapter 5

I think the worst thing that could reasonably happen, other than that, is have the MU replace Levin for the second half.

i wish olwen looked better in heroes

An artbook revealed they're distant cousins

The original draft also had them be NBR.

Actually, the opposite. True incest is what caused the Antichrist to be born and orchestrating led to Sigurd getting cucked..

You lie!

They're only half-brother and sister. You can pair up your own people for that much.

Got a snes flash cart awhile back, how difficult is this one. I played awakening but dropped it around chapter 20 or something so I have a bit of experience with the series. This one okay to go right into?

Give the guy credit, he did it in like a month and he released the full translation literally a few hours before he left to college, which was his personal deadline.

>Pairing Sylvia at all
>Not using superior Leylia
Get with the times, gramps
Cairpre/Sharlow both suck anyway

If you dropped awakening then this game will royally buttfuck you

>we're only cousins, are we not?
B-but you two get this dialogue only IF you're already lovers.

It's really easy, one of the easiest in the series.

FE4 is rather easy and very breakable, though some mechanics aren't explained well. Make sure to check enemy stats and skills before engaging.

I didn't drop it because it was hard, I got bored. This seems to be more difficult and have a better plot so I'm interested.

>more difficult
If you do pairings right you can steamroll the second generation with no issues. Your main character is essentially Frederick without crutches in the first generation.

If you think you can handle it, go ahead.
You can set it to save every turn, which helps when chapters take ~25-50 turns each.
Study a bit on how pairing and inheritance work, it can make/break 2nd Gen
Units can't double without Pursuit
Mounted units are the best

Good luck

FE4 does have a very satisfying plot, especially if you like medieval drama stuff. Awakening is generally seen as one of the worst games in the series both plot and gameplay wise, so don't worry about it.

Are pairings more important here? I never got any of the kids in awakening other then lucina obviously. I didn't know you were suppose to pair units up since it seemed they worked well alone.

>replay FE4
>Decide to pair Tiltyu with Levin so Horseti can be
>Ferry ends up with Claude
>Yeah Arthur is a beast but it lingers in the back of my head
>Fee is just a dumb shit healer now and Levin isn't the same either
>Can't continue because I just hate Ferry!Claude so much and how shitty their children turn out

Pairings are very important in FE4. The game's not terribly difficult and you can beat it without them but I do recommend you paid all your female units with a suitable male.

FE4 handles children... Differently
In short: Children replace your army instead of joining it. Unlike awakening, everyone needs to be paired by a certain point or you get shitty replacement units

Serenes has a good guide for who to pair

To be fair to FE4, it can be difficult at times. Like trying to recruit Ayra without getting anyone killed or dealing with Eldigan

>Your main character is essentially Frederick without crutches

More like Seth. He's the single best unit tactically in the entire series.

Thanks on the feedback, been really interested in srpgs recently. I'm mostly intetested in tactics ogre to be honest but I heard those are not reccomended without experience so I decided to look into FE again.

Yes and no. You can fuck units over very bad,and the replacements, with few exceptions, are horrible units. On the other hand, the most important units (with one exception) of the second gen are predetermined and not bound to mixing and matching units.

I tried this once.
Never Again, Lewyn!Ced for life

For some reason, my Arthur at promoted level 30 had 22 spd (before Forseti)
Can anyone explain this, his growth rates should be >100%

In FE4 all 6 pairable females have offspring in the second generation. These aren't optional units, they join like any other soldiers. If you don't pair the mothers or get them killed by chapter 5, you get shitty boring substitutes who can't use holy weapons. You can take a look at serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/Genealogy_of_the_Holy_War_Pairing_Guide as a cheat sheet if you like, but generally you can pair whoever you want and still have enough facefuckers in the 2nd generation to pull their weight on their own.

The game is easy to get through but it does have it's finicky moments. Ayra is the one that immediately sprung to my mind, I didn't even think of Eldigan since I always defused it before anything happened. Imaging fucking that up and him running rampant on the field though, my god.
