redpill me on pc gaming
Redpill me on pc gaming
Sucks and cost a lot of money every 4-6 years
It's gaming... on a PC.
You will never go back to console.
>have to upgrade every few years, just like a console
>mods are often a pain in the ass
>good luck saving up for a quality PC and getting the full value out of it
You dont even care about games, its all about the shitposting.
It's mostly emulation and some genres not suited to consoles.
/thread
Any one else who says otherwise is full of shit.
bad ports and indieshit
enjoy your stay
It's all indie trash and poorly optimized ports and if you don't play ASSFAGGOTS, CS:GO or a blizzard game, most PC gamers you meet in real life have nothing to talk with you about.
-biggest game library by far
-better graphics
-better framerate
-cheaper games
-100's of free games
-better controls + more control options
-mods
-more user content (maps, skins, etc)
-free online MP
-upgradeable
-backwards compatibility
is it worth it to get in to something like online RTS games and MMO's
Don't
If you want to keep enjoying vidya, stay away from it. I'm being honest.
I like strategy games, so yes. I dislike MMOs. It's preferences. You could probably get it on the strategy genre with just your laptop, however.
No. It's all autism fodder of the worst kind and none are really all that good.
Can pretty much play every single game ever released from the 1970's to present with the exception of current console exclusives. Its great, and you can also use your pc for programming, graphic design, modeling...etc
You will buy allot of games because they're cheap, you will never play 80% of them, you will then pirate everything.
I played WoW and stuff like SIMS and stuff on my familys budget PC and it was a good time. a different experience to playing on consoles for sure. I realize I could probably get a decent laptop or low end pc to play stuff like this, I've just never had a huge interest in building a "huge gaming pc rig" despite them looking really cool.
>no generations so no getting rid of all your games and hardware every 5 years, can still play 1990s pc games
>has more use than just playing games so you should get one anyway, getting a good graphics card and putting it in isn't hard and cheaper than buying proprietary exclusive reskinned game idiot box every 4 years
>exclusivity is bad consumer practice and if you get suckered into it for brand loyalty you are a cuck
>thousands of more games than any console can even make your own damn game on one
>can play it on monitor or tv play with controller or kb+m
>more user friendly
>don't have to pay to access internet you already pay for
>emulation
>mods
>don't need netflx to watch anime and shit
PCs are permanently backwards compatable though, even it gets trickier the further back you go, so an upgrade only adds new games.
Console you upgrade, and all the shit you already bought or pirated can't be played, unless you keep making room for more consoles, or pay for the game again if it's something they felt was worthy to re-sell to you on the new one.
Consoles are literally pop-up ad cancer.
pop up add cancer that invents all the games and controller innovations
> you're gonna need a computer for shitposting and emails anyway. Just get a desktop instead of buying a laptop every 2~4 years
> It costs like $150 to convert most desktops into an entry level gaming pc.
> you can generally salvage parts between upgrades.
Remember being a kid and wishing you had a houseful of your favorite candy bar? PC gaming is that reality.
You slowly build up this infinite library of games and then realize that you fucking hate eating chocolate everyday and can't bring yourself to play a game so you let that huge pile of chocolate sit there and rot.
That's PC gaming.
Sounds more like my porn-viewing habits.
You sure you aren't talking about consoles there mate?
There are no upcoming games.
There are no present games.
And every previous game is better than it used to be.
When it works it's great. When it doesn't it sucks.
I had a modded xbox and ds and that's sadly what it felt like
>buy xbox
>buy xbox 360
>oh fuck yeah ill play the original halo on my xbox 360
>put disc in
>grinding sounds
>cant read disc
what did it mean by this?
>buy pc
>play halo
>do nothing for 10 years
>play halo
You upgrade your PC to play the same games you've always played.
If a game doesn't run at least at constant 60fps you might as well not play it.
You need at least a modicum of intellect to be able to set everything up correctly.
Platform composed mostly of tourneyfags who spend all their time playing only 1 game
Consoles are always trying to achiveve what PC's can do, and consolefags are always trying to prove that they console of choice is the most powerful one.
But consoles will never be able to achieve anything close to what PC's can do, both in terms of graphics, and modding.
is that cropped
sadly, it appears to be the full image
Pc is for people trying to prove this point. Consoles are 4 the gamers
you'll have games
but everyone is waving their dick about how superior they are to everyone else
more furfags and horsefaggots than i ever met on xbawks tree fiddy
stay on console, its more fun
Games aren't actually worthwhile so the most anticipated releases are emulated versions of console games
I just came here for tai
also I can't imagine not using my pc for gaming on the reg, although the switch has been pretty comfy. Playing zelda in bed before I go to sleep
If you like to tinker and fix your shit as well as get the most out of it via over clocking, then pc is for you, if not I would probably still recommend PC if you got a recent desktop that you can slap a GPU into. If you just want games and a decent looking box to play them with, get a console.
It's really comfy. Plays all games even those released in previous generations. You can plug it into your TV and have a console experience.
I don't know how people function without a pc. Like do you use your phone and console browser to browse Sup Forums? How do you watch anime? How do you watch porn? If you're gonna get a crappy pc to do these things, you might as well get a decent pc that can also play games.
PC gaming is pretty much ruined now.
all the shit going for it is gone and what you can get out of it can just be got with a normal fucking PC.
Basically, you have less plastic shit to use. More controller support, better display options, better performance, typically, and a lot more backward compatibility.
Since consoles are now locked, less-capable PCs, there's little reason not to just switch. It's pretty much the same shit now.
Just started PC gaming, doing it for the new Total War games but I hate the new governing system.
It's nice to play games that used to lag late game like Crusader Kings 2 also.
But really the major reason I don't regret it is because I managed to get my hands on Honey Select with some mods, without having to install or torrent shit. Didn't even get a virus for my troubles.
You can play games and watch shows and draw fanfics all at the same time!
better FPS like WAAAAAAAAY better FPS, RTS and you get like every game emulated.
you also get a fuck ton of indie games and jap ports.
and porn games.
Just like all technology.
Who'da thunk?!
There's great backwards compability and PC exclusive genres like RTS and such. You don't really need a high-end machine. Console games might or might not get a port eventually, which might or might not be good. Japanese games' PC support is often especially bad though it's gotten better recently. There's generally more hassle with playing games compared to consoles but you can also tweak around more if you want to. There's also emulation, modding and stuff like that if you're into them.
That's actually a really good point. Both pop-ups and consoles alike tend to spread malicious "innovations" all over the place.
Rhythm combat is literally malware.
What's wrong with you people? Just fucking play the games and finish off your backlog
Ken did nothing wrong!
unironically this
everyone else is posting muh feels, muh anecdotal experience but these are indisputable facts.
