What does Sup Forums think of the KH series?
The last good one I played Was KH2FM, everything after that was utter trash though.

I dig it.
Been going through the series' games both again (1 & 2) and for the first time (CoM & BBS), and enjoying it. CoM was a bit meh, but at least explained #2's start. BBS was pretty cool.

FTFM.

What's the best handheld KH and why is it Re:coded?

Most are pretty fun games

Gummi Ships are awesome

I like it, what i don't like is 90% of the autists that cling to the franchise like it's the last game in the world and defend it with their lives
Other than that I like it, would buy it a couple of times

First one is kind of out dated.

But the ones afterward are fine.

That's the worst KH in general, let alone the worst handheld KH.

1 is great, almost finished my replay of it (just got to Final Rest, need to finish synthesis and the Hades Cup)
2 is one of my favorite games. Still need to play Re:CoM

I would like this game under two clauses.

>The entire game had only original characters.
>The game was weird, but in a more connected way.

I like the gameplay and premise, but the actual presentation makes me wince.

>thinking any game that isn't Days could possibly qualify for worst handheld

Why are Days and Coded the bottom 2 anyway?

b-but muh Xion ;__;

Liked the first one for it's somewhat simple, focused plot and fun gameplay. Did not like any of the games afterward.

>b-but muh ;__;
wat?

I didn't even insult them. I just wanted to know why the DS games are purportedly the worst.

We...we were supposed to have ice cream together!

For Days I would assume the mission based system which led to a lot of repetition left a bad taste in most peoples mouths. I liked seeing everything with Roxas and Axel but I wish we got a glimpse into the other Org members as well. Best thing about the game was the multiplayer with different playable characters, I really hope they bring that back in 3 somehow.

Re:Coded is now currently held in higher regards. People hated it at first because "wah, 358 wUZ shit" and "muh ugly grafix" but then when people say down and played it, they realized it has the best usage of the command deck, and the story wasn't even pants on head like BbS and 3D

>right tear goes all the way down the cheek
>left tear abruptly ends
h-how?

Days has a really terrible mission system, and the combat is lackluster at best. There's nothing it really excels at.

Conversely, I've actually seen Re:coded praised for its combat system. I wouldn't say that it's the worst, it's just that the plot contributes very little to the series. Data-Sora's likable though.

I've been playing Birth By Sleep nonstop after I wanted to keep the rest of KH2 for another day.

Each story took me 4 hours each since I skipped cutscenes. Already played it two other times. Birth By Sleep isn't trash at all. People don't like it because it plays different than the main games, which wouldn't be a problem if they actually liked the series in the first place and didn't hoard over KH2 just for the gameplay.

No, they (Dream Drop) aren't balanced. But they are still fun to play, get stronger, and fully complete. I hate the Command Board mini game though.

>Re:coded
>worst KH
that's a funny way to spell Birth by Sleep

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Re:coded is probably the most fun out of the handheld games. it takes the shitfest that was BBS and fixes many of its problems; the major issue with it is the fact that its story is barely relevant to the series.

which also makes the movie remake in 2.5 pointless

I just wish there was a remake of Re:coded without the janky platforming, more conventional bosses, and better controls.

Shame it's never going to happen since the remasters turned it into a movie instead.

>porting a DS game to a system without a second screen
It being a movie was inevitable. How did they even manage Dream Drop Distance, BTW?

As far as I recall, it didn't use the second screen in gameplay for anything other than the map and the ability tree, neither of which are mechanics or features that specifically require two screens.

There were those reality shifts that actually used the touchpad.

it was fine. 3D didn't use the bottom screen that much other than for reality shifts which they actually managed to adapt pretty well. it also had no issues caused by the framerate change

The only big issue was one of the dream eater minigames which became almost impossible because you didn't have a screen in the touchpad

I was actually talking about Re:coded.

Oh right, that balloon shit. That's all I can think of, because I kind of had the same problem. But it's nowhere near impossible.

y u mad tho?
you don't have feelings.

well alright I exaggerated calling it impossible, but it was very much annoying.

but yeah, that's pretty much the only issue. I was honestly surprised with how good the port was considering their fuckups with 1.5 and 2.5

It improves BBS's command deck, has interesting game mechanics that makes every world fresh and is overall much more polished than Days, which suffers from many poor design choices.

Shame the story is just a recap of KH and adds nothing to the overall plot. The secret ending was alright, I guess.

>there are people who paid money for these games that crash on saving recently

w e w

The missions in Days are boring and repetitive. The enemies are damage sponges and are 50% reskins. The other Organization members don't play as well as Roxas. Lastly, like half the cutscenes are crammed into the last 30 minutes of the game.

Re:coded is a good game, but the plot is entirely irrelevant.

does someone have that gif of beating terra and he just doesnt move?

the fenrir + negative combo strat?

the one i always see positng about how deep the combat in kh is

BBS is the best KH game, or at the very least, tied with KH2.

>BBSfags actually believe this

yes that one

>get the 1.5+2.5 collection
>rev up KH1
>controls feel way worse than I remember
>jumps requiring any precision are infurating
>can't put items on shortcuts
>everything about camera controls
still going to plat this

couldn't find it so i recorded it, had nothing better to do anyways

there's another one with the berserk keyblade that you can start to finish spam the attack button and kill him

anyone have that webm?

I tried to do that before trying the fenrir one but he would always drop out of the combo, no idea why. I've seen someone else do it though

So the latest PS4 release is more or less every KH in HD right?

The fucking titles confuse me so much.

yes. if you play the latest 1.5 and 2.5 remasters + the games in 2.8 thats all you need to be caught up

1.5 has 2 games and cutscenes to catch you up to the negligible DS game

2.5 is the same.

2.8 also has 2 games although 1 of them is like 2 hours long

but that's all you need to be caught up

Yes.
Except Re:Coded and 358/2 days are made into movies containing relevant plot points, and 3D is only in 2.8. If you call 0.2 a game, that's also in 2.8.

If you want all the games in their best format, here's what you need.

A PS4 for 1.5+2.5 and 2.8
A DS for Re:Coded and 358/2
A smartphone for Unchained X (actually has extremely important plot elements)

...
