>joke ending is the canon ending
Joke ending is the canon ending
aint even mad most of the time
gib examples plox
drakengard ending E is canon for nier series and it's a memer
Drakengard ending E leading to _______Nier is the only example I can think of of this.
>game has multiple endings that all end completely different from the other
>sequel says they're all canon
>The hidden ending where you have to collect all of X item is the canon ending
>The ending of the first game is retconned in a DLC expansion for the second
>The second's story doesn't make sense on its own because of this
>The expansion released a month after the game itself
Fucking infuriating
>Game does a 100% reboot
>the old universe is still 100% canon and the reboot references it
Dude Sex
So basically a poorly-named sequel?
Elder Scrolls comes to mind.
No
>Half a dozen endings at least on average
>None of them matter because the series is about the futility of death
fucking INSIDE
>zero dies at the end again
>he was actually supposed to
>Prequel
>Retcons the first game's story
Try to name one that doesn't
How is that a joke ending? when i think of joke endings i think of shit like Silent Hill ufo crap.
If anything, ending E is the most interesting ending of the bunch. It doesnt look like a satire ou a cynical ending made for laughs
Not only that, it is the ending with the real final boss.
Its like saying Automata ending E is a joke ending
>game tries to apologize for its shit ending with post game material
Name 1 (uno)
>That awkward moment when you and your dragon end up in modern day tokyo and have to beat a giant salt god in a rhythm game but then the characters from Ace Combat shoot you down for invading japanese airspace but this kicks off a zombie apocalypse so you and your science bros rip your souls out and build robot bodies to possess once the virus dies out but then your daughter gets sick from making a deal with the satan book you become a science ghost to stop that shit but then your daughter gets sick so you fight the ghosts but then you kidnap your daughter so you have to go and collect the pieces of the nega-satan book so you can go kill yourself to save your daughter but then you find out that you kidnapped your daughter to save your daughter but your daughter feels bad for her so she kills herself for your daughter and you attack you hoping you'll kill yourself so you can be with your daughter again so you kill him and save you daughter and now both you and you are with your daughters maybe.
Mass Effect 3
Zero Time Dilemma
I'm sure there are more, which is sad.
UH SIRENT HIR-O NA UTA
Actually there are a lot of games that try to apologize for their shit endings, sometimes the ending ties directly into the apology like in Viewtiful Joe. Getting a bad ending in a lot of games usually comes with the game asking you to try harder next time or some other bullshit.
Is this the power of Yoko Taro?
Yakuza
>Not only that, it is the ending with the real final boss.
why are the other bosses not real, but the one thats a rythem game is?
Five Nights at Freddy's Sister Location and technically Fallout 2. One of the sillier quests is where you cuck one of New Reno's mobsters and have an illegitimate child with his wife, if you forget to wear a condom. This is referenced in New Vegas.
Because that boss ended up being drakengard 3 final boss too. And there arent joke endings in drakengard 3
Unless you treat drakengard 3 as a joke game... Which kinda is.
yes
ME3's multiplayer did a decent job at apologizing for it's ending.
