I want above average sound quality and comfort. I would prefer having a mic on it and not getting the Sup Forums memes, because 90% of us don't just get desk mics and we knows it.
I just need a new, good headset at a decent price. What would you suggest?
Buy something like a ZM-MIC1 and attach it to the cord. Don't buy a headset.
Luis Carter
>headset
lol
Kayden Rogers
Okay, give me a fucking break. Is this where we're at now? Do we all look like youtuber faggots? Do we all use desk mics? Because I think we don't Don't know a single person that does. Fuck the dumb old marketing kids with Turtle Beaches, but come on.
Jeremiah Thomas
I can't stop you if you want a shittier product for the same price and like replacing both parts if one breaks, but the smart thing to do would be a clip-on microphone.
Ethan Mitchell
don't buy razer unless you know what you're doing
Austin Rivera
fuck razer
but fuck most everyone, really.
wonder how many of them really buy desk mics and headphones
Bentley Parker
Again, buy a clip-on if you don't want a desk mic.
Ryder Lopez
sennheiser got some good shit
Carson Foster
have you ever used a modern condenser mic? your laptop probably has one, give it a shot you can get a desktop condenser mic for like $20 too
the quality is great, and it picks up all the sound you want it to there's no retarded studio equipment involved, it just sits under your screen and actually fucking works
Luke Miller
>ZM-Mic-1
Yeah I have that thing and it's a piece of fucking shit. The cord is long as fuck and annoying and headset works just right. Fuck off autists with your duckttapes and DIY tutorials.
Easton Martinez
>headset Only manchildren who live with their parents need a headset.
Parker Murphy
...
Adrian Kelly
I just use a cheap webcam mic.
If I wanted I could get a studio mic and mesh for cheap because my city has this stuff for really cheap. But I don't talk much in online games with my voice because I always have to think before I say something nowadays.
Julian Reed
Your ears thank you for a quality pair of headphones. Give yourself a treat.
Justin Ward
Don't use headsets
You'll whine and cry but it's better to just admit a good headphone is much, much better than anything they shove into those overpriced gaming stuff
Just get a HD598 and you'll thank me later when you realize how good things can sound
Jose Thomas
>You'll whine and cry >just admit a good headphone is much
You mean microphone? Or is the average shit that bad?
You can never tell on a phone because the headphones are shit regardless of microphones
Cameron Phillips
I use a desk mic. They aren't expensive and they work just fine. Get a real pair of headphones.
Sennheiser has a decent pair of headphones with a built in mic if you must be a faggot.
Jaxson Cooper
Sennheiser game ones/game zeros depends if u want open or closed back.
>The sound quality is excellent >it has this bass feature that you can switch on via a toggle on the left earphone, it makes the whole thing vibrate, neat, but gimmicky. >it's connected via USB >includes mic that folds flush with the headphone >uncomfortable fabric, but you'll get used to them >bit heavy
yea, don't fall for the desk mic meme, I have a desk mic and I'm sick of it, always having to lean forward to make sure my voice is loud. just don't waste money on a headset, this one sounds just fine, not mention, it's 7.1 surround.
Carson Thomas
usb 2.0?
James Clark
>The sound quality is excellent Have you ever used any actually good headphones?
Anthony Cooper
didn't need 3 so I'm sure.
why would you care about audio quality for a video game? you're not gonna get FLAC quality sound.
Kevin Kelly
I can tell just by looking that the mic quality is going to be garbage. Not to be an asshole or anything but it is what it is.
I can believe that the sound quality is okay on those. They're not going to be studio quality but HD at least. What more could you ask for for 40 bucks?
>why would you care about audio quality for a video game? That's probably the worst excuse I've ever heard
Also, you use your headphones just for vidya? You never stop to listen to music?
>They're not going to be studio quality but HD at least Just by the words you used it's noticeable you don't really understand much about audio quality, but that's ok
Also, for the $40 budget range, Koss PRODJ 100, Sony MA300 or even PortaPros could beat that thing in quality
Nathan Barnes
I thought it was some horrible mad catz mouse in that picture for a good minute.
Matthew James
he starts using the mic at 7:25
music sounds great with these, the only reason you hate these is because they look terrible appearance wise (they really do look terrible).
and thank goodness the bright red LED lights can be turned off
Juan Hill
You are probably allergic to trying new stuff, OP, since you already went on a "youtube faggots" spastic rampage, but I'll give it a shot
Try those, AKG K240. They are around $60 on Amazon, super budget stuff, but I'm pretty sure they are miles better than anything you have tried. If you didn't like them, you can resell them for 40 to 50 bucks. But I'm pretty sure you'll be blown away by how an actual pair of headphones sound
Leo Robinson
>Just by the words you used it's noticeable you don't really understand much about audio quality
I was using layman terms, and none of those headphones you suggested have a microphone. Granted the microphone on that one is likely junky, it's better than no microphone or a microphone that needs batteries or other shit.
Parker Lewis
Is modmic any good?
Adam Richardson
And the only reason you think music sounds great with those is because you've never listened to anything with good headphones
Josiah Howard
>he starts using the mic at 7:25
Oh. Doesn't sound too bad actually.
Hunter Brooks
>headset
how old are you, 15?
Christian Evans
I think they sound great because I'm not an audiophilefag.
hey, I was surprised too by the video.
Jacob Scott
Is there a way I can get this clipon mic bullshit to work on console?
Joshua Barnes
There's a clear difference between being a retard that tapes rocks to their sound system and just appreciating something that sounds good. I'm not even too dedicated to sound quality (HD598 at home and a pair of portapros to listen on the go) and I was blown away by how stuff actually sounds when you have decent cans
I've used headsets for years and the sound quality could never compare (and getting a standalone mic will also lead to better voice quality, less chance of breaking by accidental pulls and even if it does you can just buy another $5 mic)
Parker Rodriguez
The mics used in headsets are the worst of the worst. That's why people suggest zalman clip ons and super cheap desk mics, because even those will be better than that
You can also "splurge" and get $20 chinkshit like a NW-800 and your voice will sound like an angel from heaven to anyone you talk to online
Brayden Miller
A decent set of cans and a mediocre mic is better then a top of the line headset, outside of very VERY specific instances (iirc the C9 Sennheiser headest is really good). This is because they take a mediocre headphone and make it worse by shoving a bunch of wire for the mic inside of it. If your budget is 300$, get a 280$ pair of headphones and a 20$ mic.
Angel Martin
been using the hd 201 for at least a year now and i gotta say it's probably the best you can get for 20 bucks- at least if you're not looking into chink shit that takes 3 months to ship
Earpad rubber(?) wore off, but then I do suppose it's working more-than-average hours
Oliver Diaz
considering that OP asked for average sound quality at a decent price, I provided just that.
those HD598s youre recommending are pretty pricey at $161.37, and those portapros don't surround the ear, provide simulated 7.1 surround sound, or eliminate sound interference via USB instead of 3.5mm, not to mention, it lacks a mic.
40 bucks is pretty damn good for a headset with all those previous mentioned features, something those portapros lack.
also, just post the meme guide already.
Jack Rivera
Sades spirit wolf. Use it all the time has built in mic and works great. 8/8 m8
Jeremiah Gutierrez
As someone who probably went through half a dozen headsets in a few years, you should listen to the people in the thread telling you to get headphones
I was skeptical as first. Did research and got the AT M50x, since it seemed to be the best bang for my buck. Also got a Zalman clip-on mic for cheap and my audio experience just completely changed
Listening to albums now is just a whole another experience. It's like it's a whole new song. Sounds for games are clear and even though these are closed headphones, I can play stuff like Overwatch and have perfect knowledge of where everyone is just based on the clear sound
My zalman died a little over a year later after my purchase, which wasn't a problem at all because I just bought a new cheap mic and kept on going. No more having to buy a whole new set because the cheap wiring from the chinese mic decided to give out. The M50x also had a detachable cable, so if I ever step on it hard enough to break (the cable is coiled and thick), I can just order a new set for $15 and the experience will be the same
Trust me, it's a whole new level and you won't be able to come back after you realized how everything is supposed to sound
Pic is my pair. The leather is all cracked from three years of constant use but it doesn't really make a difference when wearing them and the sound quality is still top notch. Got them for $120 on Amazon. Instead of buying a new $50 every year cause it'll invariably stop working, get something good
Isaiah James
>provide simulated 7.1 surround sound Yes, good goy, buy into the manufacturer's buzzwords. Did you buy your mechanical keyboard with red gaming switches so you can be ahead of the competition, too?
Jason Murphy
A desk mic is 20 fucking dollars you underage poorfag.
Jace Rivera
>those HD598s youre recommending are pretty pricey at $161.37 I never recommended those, I only said they were my weapon of choice. Plenty of people posted budget recommendations here
>portapros don't surround the ear Then get something out of the recommendation that does
>provide simulated 7.1 surround sound Please tell me you didn't fall for that
>eliminate sound interference via USB instead of 3.5mm Do you live in a house from the 50s to have interference like that?
>it lacks a mic Zalman
$40 really does sound like a really good deal, until it breaks months later and you buy another one cause $40 is pretty cheap, right? It's just wiser to invest into something actually good
Christopher Perez
hey man, love my gimmicks. $20 keyboard with mouse included
had these for a year
James Brown
Have fun

I tried a friend's AD700 and the "absolutely zero bass" isn't an exaggeration.
Nicholas Sanchez
I wish I was him. Best teeth in the fucking game
Gabriel Adams
>because 90% of us don't just get desk mics and we knows it god i wish death apon all of you shitters that settle on drive through quality mics
not sure if troll but cheap condenser mics will pickup everything around you, and make your voice sound like shit and nobody will take anything you say seriously start with a SM57 or dont even bother
Wyatt Harris
>because 90% of us don't just get desk mics Source of your stats? All my friends use desk mics.
Carter Perry
>recommending a 99 dollarydoo studio mic for vidya heh
Jaxson Jenkins
>i buy cheap crappy shit that i use all the time the only retard here is you
