So this was pretty much its generations dark souls, right?

so this was pretty much its generations dark souls, right?

yes

super empire strikes back nigga

also probably hagane too.

Seeing as how the third and fourth gens had plenty of challenging games, there was no such thing as "the Dark Souls of its generation". People that automatically associate challenge with Dark Souls, are obviously underage shits that didn't grow up playing actual hard games.

>confirmed not playing up to O&S

>he found O&S hard
Thanks for proving my point.

let me guess, you beat them in one try as depraved with a broken sword right?

Just get used to Arthur's shitty jumping and the game is easy. Most of the difficulty comes from being barely able to control his jump asides doing a second one in mid-air

Super Ghouls n Ghosts is harder than Dark Souls

I think that a game's difficulty is based off of it's initial, conceptual difficulty (normally progressing through the game). Why imply some sort of self-imposed challenge holds any basis for the rest of the game as a whole? That's like saying Kingdom Hearts 2 is hard because you of Level 1 Critical mode. Don't be a faggot, user.

And also the fact that he's slower than 95% of the enemies and half the weapons are shit.

lol yeah i sucked dick at this game

it's way more difficult than meme souls but it's far easier than makaimura or daimakaimura, basically the console casual version of the original arcade titles

Ghoul's and Ghost is literally he easiest one.
Ghost and Goblins is pretty bullshit but only at the final level.
Super Ghost and Goblins is the hardest.

God yes. Great VGM tho.

You're right, because it absolutely slows down like a bitch (as a typical SNES game does)

The better version of the Ghouls N Ghosts is the one on Genesis and that was a fucking launch title.

A game with checkpoints and RPG elemeents like Dark Souls will always be mediocre in difficulty.

Rather than answering, let me ask you a question. What is the point of trying to draw such an inane 1:1 comparison.

Both games possessing a medieval fantasy theme and being considered above average difficulty doesn't have any significant meaning. Try employing some critical thinking skills for once.

pretty much

This. Don't you find it pathetic that games where you can actually die for once or features retro adventure game traps are now associated with one fucking game from 2011?

Fuck all of you.

Gayest comparison ever

No, Dark Souls is actually fair and is full of ways to bust the game wide fucking open and make it piss easy to play.

Super Ghouls N' Ghosts is complete and utter bullshit pretty much the entire time. That's not to say I didn't beat it, but the game was so stupidly difficult that I actually didn't feel any accomplishment by the time I did.
