Skyward Sword is better that Breath of the Wild

.Better story
.Better dungeons
.Better weapon system
.Better ideas
.Better bosses
.Better final boss

Overall the only problematic things are that it lacks the implementation of the open world meme that becomes pretty much boring after 20 hrs and some quests that are way too long

I want to fuck Fi.

>better story

No. It's more intricate but also the most plothole riddled in the entire series. That Link needs the fucking harp for his own trials when he got it on a whim from Zelda by following her on his own is fucking stupid.

>better ideas

Like what? Dowsing? Dungeonlike overworld implemented in the worst way possible instead of doing it like Metroid or Castlevania? More handholding?

>better final boss

But it's the same victory lap type of boss. Seriously. His sword is harder than him.

>No. It's more intricate but also the most plothole riddled in the entire series.
Like the fact that after 100 years everything is the same and that after 10000 YEARS nothing changed and everyone still looks the same!!!

>Like what? Dowsing? Dungeonlike overworld implemented in the worst way possible instead of doing it like Metroid or Castlevania?
Yeah

>But it's the same victory lap type of boss. Seriously. His sword is harder than him.
You must be gay

Better dungeons? You'd never know with Fi spoiling everything. Also only 2D Zelda dungeons were any good. 3D games have one or two good ones each. At most. In fact, 3D Zelda dungeons are so linear just stack a few shrines together and you have a 3D Zelda dungeon. Cheesing shrine puzzles are pretty fun though, I'll admit.

I want to kill Fi.

ZELDA BICYCLE !!!

why tho

Shrines are lazy ideas nintendo had for dungeons and never implemented in a real organic one.
They literally opened the trash bin and placed its shit in botw.
Shrines are filler because otherwise the world feels empty and boring

>He thinks any of the 3d Zeldas have a worse story than Braap of the Wild

That's still nowhere on the level of SS. The worst you can come up with for BotW is the background but the meat of SS's plot is just way worse. Yes they tried more in SS, but they didn't really commit to having it make sense. You can at least say tons of shit could have relapsed society in those 10,000 years and you don't actually see much of prosperous Hyrule from 100 years ago to begin with. Of course nothing would progress in state Hyrule was in thanks to Ganon. It's a miracle that they're even still around and that's something you can nitpick. Now explain the harp shit. Also the triforce had borderline retcons in SS.

>Yeah

Terrible ideas with terrible execution.

>You must be gay

Not an argument.

>better story
>No
nice bait mate. But BOTW story is complete garbage. My most disappointing point of this game.

First of all humanity as we know today is about 10000 years old...10000 is a very long time.
Second, in one century humanity went from using horses to jet engines and electric cars
In botw nothing changes neither for good or bad. At least in OoT you saw something after only 7 years

Yes. SS did. They're both not good, but I would take a bare bones story that can't fuck up much over one that trips all over itself. Also the emphasis on plot introduced in WW was a mistake. It does not really fit this series and they've never really committed to it. MM had an excuse as a gaiden story, but it was arguably detrimental to gameplay for later entries. TP is a solid example with its over abundance of cutscenes, pacing, and forced tutorials. Devs still use Ganon like he's Castlevania's Dracula or Bowser, ganeplay first series, but he's now a character in the minds of the fanbase so they shot themselves in the foot here too.

>Skywarwd Sword is my favourite Zelda
>before Breath of the Wild release anons called me troll
>after release they say Zelda cycle or some variation of "fitting in"
Can't tell if things have gotten better or worse for me.

In that time we almost went extinct in an ice age too. I think it's poor writing, but easily coverable because Yellow Stone could erupt tomorrow and we'd be fucked. It's also not the meat of the story. I can't say the same for a lot of the stuff that comes up in SS and still SS is also guilty of this shit so how is it any better? Keep in mind that like 90% of the game of SS is the nonsensical thousand year old plans of Hylia. Lol. You would not believe how stupid it makes her look if you examine it with this knowledge. And again, they were selective in showing the past in BotW to begin with so it's plausible to say what did change was offscreen. Lazy directing, and not good, but not a plothole.

Botw story is so shit they had to use oot references.
Dungeons are so bad they had to make 120 mini ones to control the damage
Graphics are outdated
amiibo shit
Terrible pacing and forgettable landscapes
Nothing new added to the lore

Nah... Botw story is garbage
There aren't even the craters where people found the Beasts.
Lazy!

>OoT reference
SS's muh unbreakable Hylian Shield isn't this? Despite the fact that it came first in the timeline. Just look at WW which is a fucking OoT sequel. And TP? It's par for the course in 3D Zelda.

>Graphics are outdated
So was SS's even accounting for other Wii games. Galaxy looked better. It's also a linear game that could cheese loading easily so what's its excuse?

>Terrible pacing
As opposed to SS's intro and imprisoned fights? Fuck off. You at least make your own pacing.

>shrines

That's not what they're there for. It's to both modernize secret finding and caves like in the topdown games and to also serve as a stand-in for heart pieces (Koroks are a stand-in for the traditional method, anyone who bitches about these also are bitching about heart pieces in past games by the way)

>amiibo shit

It's Nintendo. Everything post-Wii will be this.

>nothing new added to lore

Sheikah had lore added. Also don't even cite MM or TP as adding lore that mattered outside their own games. That means fuck all. And no one fucking likes Hylia or Demise. Don't even be contrarian here and say you do.

And SS manages to be worse. That's what's sad. BotW's is just generic in a gameplay first game. So for SS to be even worse with its story focus is a travesty.

I would take amiibo over waggling. That can fuck off forever.

I haven't played breath of the wild, but it is better than Skyward Sword.

Look i don't like SS I just think it's better than BotW.
SS had problems and while I think Zelda should have gone open world since the GC days I find really sad the lack of attention for detail and this pandering to openworld fags. Morrowind pisses on this zelda unfortunately
Me too since I pirate them

...

There's nothing redeemable about SS. BotW I can at least say is a decent game in its own right but something that needs a sequel to improve upon it in a ton of ways. That you can come up with so many solutions in many different scenarios means they at least had attention to detail in some of the right places and a good engine. Plus being able to die for once for the first time in LttP is a good thing for this series. What's SS? Everything that annoyed people in 3D Zelda turned into a whole game? Because that's what it felt like in my two playthroughs. I really wanted to like SS too.

*since LttP

>Skywarwd sword
More like byenerd.

All the things you said areok but...why is this game empty? Why is nintendo to releasr a game and saywe will fix it in the future? Was it too hard to release a game with those ideas right now?
>b-but breaking the conventions
Again if I want a good open world I buy Witcher or replay morrowind...if zelda stops being zelda there's no point in picking it up imo

I'll probably get some flak for this, but I think
both SS and BotW are the pinnacle of Zelda series.

Everyone has a different concept of what Zelda should be, for some, it's dungeons, for others it should be exploration, and SS and BotW are the best on that respectively.
If someday Nintendo manage to somehow combine those two philosphies it's going to be great

>Can't explore
Dropped.

I don't wholly disagree but I don't think I'd use the word pinnacle. I think people get really hung up on all the flaws of SS and can't appreciate what it did right or the strides it took to change up the stale formula.

This is wrong though. It's easily Zelda just not the Zelda WW or TP kids grew up on. Everyone is going on about muh dungeons, and they are right don't get me wrong, but do you know what was missing from Zelda for the longest time? Muh overworld. Half of the fun in Zelda 1, Lttp, LA, and ALBW (which reminded me that this was half of the appeal of the series) was opening up paths and collecting shit to strengthen yourself up while fighting baddies along the way. About half your playtime in those games will be finding heart pieces or getting shit like maiamais, or digging around. Zelda from WW onwards (even that was subjective) had terrible overworlds. No wonder people stopped caring and focused even more on dungeons.
I wouldn't even call it empty either, content you don't like still counts but it is valid that you don't like it. Morrowind is old. Not many games like it are around today. Part of why BotW works is that you get little to no markers and have to figure some shit out on your own. For example take the Lost Woods puzzle you fucking KNOW Fi would feed you the answer or you'd have a quest marker if it were another game. That is almost novel in today's babying industry, let alone from 3D Zelda. Not new, but it is refreshing.

The issue is now reversed. We're back to minimal stories like the older games and we also have a fleshed out overworld for once, but in exchange we lost better dungeons and a more intricate story. So in the end we broke even. We lost as much as we gained but both have the same essence of Zelda. Hell, it still has a lot of emphasis on puzzles. No open world game really does that and I don't know why people pretend that it's not at least somewhat unique for an open world game here.

Either way. If I had to choose which Zelda they would base future games off of I would pick BotW over SS. I simply couldn't have them continue down SS's road. That alone makes me think BotW is just a better game even if I think it's far from perfect.

Handholding was a problem in SS, I agree and that's something I didn't like but... Botw is really good at giving you the sense of travel and discovery but it ruins everything by not giving you a destination. Dungeons are and will always be the destinations in Zelda. It's the place where the struggle is needed to accomplish the task required to become more skilled, to find a new item, to live the area where it is placed, Dungeons or Temples are what made Zelda unique.
SS does this very well ,not in the best way but a lot better than BotW.
Where is BotW Shadow temple or great palace....?
