Some italian nerd makes a zelda game in the unreal engine for a couple months

>Some italian nerd makes a zelda game in the unreal engine for a couple months

>Looks better than 10 years of AAA Nintendo development

Holy shit, Nintendo is going to go bankrupt.

Looks like shit

If you think that, you must also think breath of the wild looks like fucken shit.

Some parts of it do look pretty good but for the most part it's pretty obvious the person who did this has zero art criteria.
You can't just mash many different styles and hope for the lighting and ambient occlusion to do the work.

>some italian nerd spends a couple of months copying a single level design - filling it with a scant few assets that directly copy existing designs - from a 20-year-old-game, plus one or two utterly rudimentary fascimiles of gameplay mechanics (also directly lifted)

>looks sort of ok

damn...............

Meanwhile nintendo AAA developer makes a game that looks like puke that they spent 10 years on with millions and millions of dollars put into it...

And yet, this faggy italian nerd outdoes them all in one summer.

class is not water

Let's just smear Post Processing and filters on everything and call it an improvement.

Looks good but the style doesn't fit Zelda, imo. Any news on if this is just a demo or does he plan to do the entire game?

Pretty.

Let's see something like that run in real time on a current console, preferably at a rate that can be counted higher than "seconds per frame". Until then, it'll just be a vanity project.

He only outdid them in terms of raw visual fidelity. Everything in this demo looks plastic and devoid of style like most of these fanmade UE4 creations. Someone remade E1M1 of Doom in UE4 awhile back and it has the same problem.

You're not allowed to say Zelda with good graphics looks good. It hurts Nintenbros' feelings.

>Everything in this demo looks plastic and devoid of style like most of these fanmade UE4 creations

LOL! You're so pathetic, you are literally grasping at straws--you literally can't accept that AAA nintendo got bested by a little faggy italian nerd.

The cavern looks cluttered as fuck. Everything blends into itself, and it's all so busy.

Design-wise, it's a disaster.

This. The videos do look impressive, but it's mostly color filtering, bloom, and not much else.

>LOL!
Nintendork falseflagging as a PCbro detected. Not going to fuel your persecution complex anymore, faggot.

I can't tell what's worse -- the overuse of ambient occlusion, Link of the Uncanny Valley, the hideously clashing art aesthetic between characters and backdrop...

The worst part is that if this thing gets popular enough, Nintendo is going to notice and think this shit is what people want from the next Zelda.

I'm seeing this happen a lot with the big Japanese devs. Sega, Capcom, Konami, etc. The fan-made work is making them look like lazy garbage merchants. This is why I don't buy their games at full price. Half-ass game=half-ass money. But the fanboys defend them, so they carry on being lazy. Ironic that fanboys actually hurt the object of their obsessions more than 'haters' ever could.

>m-muh godrays!! muh special fx!!!

did your mom not buy you a wii u/switch user? i'm so sorry.

>Stack assets
>Art direction
PC fags are their finest.

good art direction > loads of polygons & flashy fx

>that fucking music
I can only imagine the attentiowhore singing this piece of trash, thinking she would get lots of betabucks and e-peen from repeating the same uninspired "lyrics" over and over for a pretty long time.
Fucking hell.

Spotted the Italian cuck. Try actually making a game instead of slideshow of a random cave.

As a dev who works with UE4:

1) He already has a creative source to base his work off of. That takes off like 2/3 of the dev process

2) As I understand it, he also has models from the 3DS version

3) This fidelity is easy in UE4 if you have any game or level design knowledge whatsoever.

4) It is all completely devoid of life or interactivity

Not saying it isn't neat or cool, because it is. Just putting some things into perspective.

To imply this dude has anything on Nintendo, or that this project holds any sort of dog-mangled half candle to BotW is either bait or absolute retardation.

CryZENx's take on Ocarina is impressive from a technical standpoint, but he doesn't have any art design know-how. The assets end up looking way too washed-out in all videos.

This dude's take on it is objectively worse from almost every standpoint but he gets the coloration and atmosphere down much better, it looks like the 3DS remake box art:

The two of them should really just get together and do it as a two-man team.

If he tried to replicate that at the scale of a AAA game, it would take him 2000 years.

Sup Forums as usual
Post something you think looks good

...

Making a scene with the third-person template on-top isn't making a game.

...

>all these "faggy italian"

ma parlate per voi! brutti stronzi froci che non siete altro!

They're just god awful UE4 tech demos. People have been doing this shit for years.

>mfw Notch, a multi billionaire veteran game designer can't compete with a hobbyist doing it on his free time when it comes to creating textures

>new zelda
>lazy development for phone-tier hardware
>minecraft
>stylized java game

Graphically it looks kinda nice but from an aesthetics point of view, shit looks too clean and plastic-like. Not a big fan of all that bloom and it feels cluttered too.

>guy make a game out of already existing assets
Whoa, better than Nintendo! Nintendo needs to hire this guy!

Wasn't the art in Minecraft at point just filler and was going to be replaced later?

Minecraft actually looks better than the OPs video IMO.
