>Sup Forums claims CoD is and always has been shit >yet 2, 3, MW, WaW, BLOPS I + II, and AW are all good games >hell, even MW2 was decent aside from the atrocious balance issues and bugs in mp
Explain this. Why do you insist Call of Duty is a shit franchise overall when so many entries have been at least a solid 7/10?
its not shit jyst old, the formula is tried and tested nothing has changed apart from packs and wall hacks, fuck im even bored of battlefield these days
Aiden Kelly
>AW >good 2 thru BlOps 1 were bretty gud tho
Aaron Powell
Cod1,WaW and cod4 are the good ones though. Cod2 introduced the cancer that's known as quickscoping.
Colton Barnes
If it's popular/successful it sucks.
Chase Hernandez
I hope you mean that as in it introduced it to the series and not in general, because if not boy howdy I have some news for you.
Jack Johnson
Because it's been done to death not just by the devs but also other competitors, it just feels boring because you've seen it all before now.
Nolan Carter
To the series of course.
Landon Walker
That's wrong though, since most of those games despite being released within the last 5 years, are more stripped down of important features.
Christ, CoD still doesn't have proper dedicated servers, mod support, server browsers, etc. The tickrates are also abysmally low for such a massive franchise.
Jeremiah Wright
>dedicated servers, mod support, server browsers, etc. All of these are in Black Ops III actually
Wyatt Green
Because it's the most popular, simple as that. Of course now it's uncool to like CoD but I 100% agree that they're solid games with the only unfun or bad one being infinite warfare
Carson Gonzalez
BLOPS I and II are hands down worst Call of Duty games
Justin Gutierrez
>anything treyarch >good
Blake Allen
WaW is actually great.Sure it needed a bazillion patches but that happened because of the faggot publisher.
What is the most popular one at the moment? What is the "best" from the newer ones?
Robert Wilson
Because it's been the same fucking thing for over a decade. The appearance might change but the core gameplay and principals stays the same. It always boils down to TDM fests using SMG's with overpowered perks like sleight of hand and stopping power, or whatever happens to be the equivalent of the next game, though those two are infamous for having steep advantages. I've palyed damn near all of them and they play out in this exact the same way. You could say "it has other game modes" or "it has different weapons types" or what the fuck ever, but it never really matters. Just use the weapon and abilities that give you the fastest flexibility and all other class types are obsolete and ineffective, not to mention 90% of players just play TDM, rendering other game modes moot. And the campaigns all play out as linear hallway shooting galleries. All of them. Even Blops II that tried to mix in RTS elements still boiled down linear hallways; it's where the joke originates from. Supply drops nickel and diming consumers like a cheap microtransaction F2P mobile game after shelling out $100+ for the full game made by companies that make billions in yearly revenue. And the list goes ON and ON and I could sit here for a fucking eternity complaining about the business and design decisions but it's all common info. That's why people criticize it so hard. It's not because "it's popular" or any stupid bullshit like that, but because it has a lot of extremely potent flaws that hold it back due to Activision having it's dick down their developers throat all year round.
Jackson Rogers
>AW >goood
Adam Cox
only campaign and zombies, multiplayer falls short in comparison to previous cods.
Lucas Cooper
In what way?
Mason Turner
Black ops was the last good one, only because I like cold war CIA kind of stories.
COD stopped being good after MW2 and BO2. MW3 was alright but only to complete the trilogy.
Nathaniel Powell
Am I banned?
Thomas Wood
Console shooter, less priority on PC since almost nobody plays on PC comapred to the hundreds of thousands that play on console daily.
Brody Turner
>CoD 3 and Blops 2 >good
Eli Rodriguez
>3, MW, WaW, BLOPS I + II, and AW are all good games OP confirmed gen-x shitter
Oliver Perez
>3 >AW
oooo and you were so close too.
Nathan Powell
CoD 2 is full of filler missions though.
Evan Wright
>MW2 >good >can't even call you an underage anymore
William Morris
shit maps + garbage killstreaks (only the wraith, raps, and hatr are worth using) + supply drop weapons
no thanks
Eli Adams
>MW2 >good kek
Anthony Morris
Everyone should read this post as its by far the best explanation of why the series sucked for nearly a decade.
Justin Johnson
>Decent maps >Fun weapons MW2 was fun bruh.
Jace Evans
Which was your favourite CoD2 mission?Mine was repairing the telephone cable and destroying the panzer IIs with stickybombs in stalingrad.
Liam Rogers
>most popular BLOPS III or IW, probably >"best" BLOPS III or Advanced Warfare, latter is somewhat more fun imo but the former has proper pc support via a server browser, mod tools, etc. and will probably last far longer.
This is mostly true but desu I think you're overstating how homogeneous weapon loadouts are. MW2 was the worst that ever got and since then only maybe Ghosts has been nearly as bad.
Caleb Wood
>shit maps Not really. >garbage killstreaks And? Yeah, most of them are garbage - is that really an issue so long as the strong ones are fun to use and not broken? >supply drop weapons Yeah alright you got me there, though at least now you can join servers that ban anything but stock ones.
Evan Cooper
What's up with the abysmally small player count?I thought the latest installments are popular yet BLOPS III has only around 4k players on at the moment.
Brody Jackson
The pc community is the minority and most of the CoD audience migrates en-masse each year when a new one releases, though on the flipside whatever playerbase stays behind tends to do so for fucking years - especially since by then the DLC will be done driving off players by fragmenting them.
Jordan Carter
Shame.I remember when MW came out i played the pirated version and it had so much players. Is it possible the pirated versions have more players given the price tags?
Chase Ramirez
Possibly, you can never underestimate the number of pirates in the world. Though I imagine you'll get shit ping for a lot of matches then since they'll likely be majority russian or south american.
William Rogers
>AW
Nathan Rodriguez
mw2's campaign was pretty good multiplayer was a cluster fuck
Nolan Davis
>not playing infinite warfare campaign on specialist difficulty >not using pump action shotguns to shit on smg users
Nigga, do you even lift?
Henry Bailey
Actually most CoD games are fun (atleast singleplayer) if you know what you will get. Just like michael bay movies. Yes they are silly, plot is dumb as fuck, they don't try to make whole shooter genre from beginning. But action is fun, shooting is fun. And they are short enough, so they wont feel boring like most of today games.
Leo Sanders
>Anything past WaW >good
Haha, no
Sebastian Sanders
>grenade, grenade, grenade >enemy respawns >sniper smgs i beat it on veteran and it was glorious but it was also absolute bullshit
John Brown
>Explain this. Why do you insist Call of Duty is a shit franchise overall when so many entries have been at least a solid 7/10? Because it's been shit longer than good
>2001 was 26 years ago
Juan Moore
The only thing that annoys me about CoD is the infinite respawning enemies. It may make sense on some missions when you have to push forward against all the odds but I just find it irritating, its not how I grew up playing shooters.
Christopher Rivera
I recall it being better it also had gore gibbing and some nice map aesthetics
