i predicted this game would suck ass based on the team involved and you faggots on here gave me tons of shit about it

i will never stop gloating

Prime is superior in literally every aspect from graphics to gameplay and sound design.

REMINDER THAT PTSD DOES NOT WORK LIKE THIS GAME SAYS IT DOES.

>Samus is on the box art twice
Even the case is retarded

especially graphics

I don't know how they did it, but Prime still is very pleasant to look at, it's still a pretty game, and it came out in like 2002 on the fucking Gamecube

Other M is just ugly

Forever ruined the idea of NPCs, character development, dialogue, and etc for Metroid. People are too fearful it will end up like Other M rather than like Hollow Knight or Xenoblade Chronicles X.

...

I got it for 15 bucks.

I still regret playing it.

I still get angry every time I read this.

>tfw you've dissected a game like this but the game was Zero Time Dilemma
>it still managed to have more flaws than Other M

You wanna know the saddest thing about this game that no one really wants to admit? It killed the franchise.

It's Metroid Fusion without responsive controls, satisfying action, difficulty, good graphics, good music, good boss fights, good level design or a good story.

...

I'll admit and acknowledge it, the series hasn't been the same since this fucking trainwreck, and it'll take decades to recover. If ever

The game is mechanically functional and it came out exactly as Sakamoto intended.

Beyond that, I am damn impressed that I am able to make a complete sentence that suggests even vague positivity towards this game. I don't think I have it in me for a second.

It can recover, Nintendo just need to make a 2.5D sequel to Metroid Fusion.

Is there a game with a worse story?

No lie, I liked the finishing moves.

I'll admit it. It fucking torpedoed the goddamn series to the point where the only thing Nintendo was willing to try with it was that stupid handheld party game.

If Nintendo had any damn sense they'd try some roots-going-back-to and just pretend Other M never happened.

more of a proper metroid than the halo reskins.

its true

prime killed it with secondaries from the cawadoody gen that think all games need to become fps's. fed force was the final nail in the coffin.

thanks primefags.

Ridley is a stupid fucking furry thing now. did we really need that?

shouldn't PTSD have turned her into a raging lunatic lol

DmC
FF15
FF type-0
Prime's scientology tier "writing"
Mass Effect franchise
MGS, all of it

cherry picked as hell, no real argument because primecvcks have none.

>people blaming Prime for the downfall of the series
>helped revitalize the series alongside Fusion and brought Metroid back up to relevancy once more

I agree with wanting another traditional 2D Metroid game, but you guys are getting angry at the wrong games

The shitposters have arrived, was fun while it lasted

This game does not exist, because the obvious machist gamers would never get angry at a game that turns a powerful women into a subservient of a man.

>tube autist

invalidated yourself immediately.

>can throw their own arms
>can rider kick samus at the cost of losing their invulnerability
>can somersault halfway across a room
>only two exist

Fucking space pirates.

No, PTSD turns you into a baby. Remember that video of the police officer pulling over the Nam vet, and then he just starts crying?

tubes are great fuck you

I'm starting to think anti-Primefags just hate fun.

they're not funny at all unless you're a 12 year old halofag from reddit.

This is some antiquated trolling, my dude.

Maybe the rest somehow died.

Quit taking his shitty bait, it's obvious he's buttfrustrated.

Tempted to pirate this. Should I?

Prime didn't revitalize anything, the game before it was fucking Super and Nintendo just took a generation long break from the series, partially due to fear of having to follow up Super. If anything, the Prime trilogy and the GBA titles managed to keep the ball rolling as it had been. I'll be honest here, I think the series was effectively spotless up through Corruption. Even Hunters, in spite of its shitty single player, was a fun as hell multiplayer FPS. Fusion set the playing field for Other M but that was still a good game while Other M ran with everything divisive aspect about it, exacerbated them and ruined the series in one fell swoop. It needs revitalizing now, but it needs it for the first time in the series' history.

Tubes?

This is right up there with politics in things I've seen banned from chats

>hating tubes

This isn't the Sup Forums I know.

Tubes

...

RIP

autism

>shitting on tubes

Oh so you really are a shitposter here to ruin other people's conversation.

Really at this point all we can hope for is more vidya that's Metroid inspired. Environmental Station Alpha 2 is the one I'm holding out for.

I pretty much agree with everything you said, though I still think Prime and Fusion helped stir more interest in the series, at least in the states, and we got Zero Mission later on, so that's good.

...

Autism has been ran into the ground by Sup Forums so much that is has no meaning other than identifying shitposters and idiots.

These are just humorous comics user.

...

...

>Metroid game developed by Team Ninja
One of the most disappointing cases of a game that should have been good.

...

...

That's one I've never seen before

wow it's neogaf as fuck in here

great game I loved it

...

I have a bunch, but more than half in my "Metroid" folder just numbers as the filename so it's annoying to find them all.

@373097590
getting no (you) from me

I see no conversation here, just spamming unfunny images made for autists.

Why did we think it would be good in the first place? They had what, 2 good games under their belt? Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, and a bunch of porn games. Did anybody think that the developers behind Dead or Alive Beach Volley Ball is exactly what Metroid needed?

...

That studio has never made a really great game. Even Nioh has huge flaws. They need to stop and reevaluate.

Obviously Sakamoto did.

look at all this meaningful conversation guys!

These comics are responsible for me no longer taking the space pirates seriously.

Their biggest mistake was letting Sakamoto off the fucking reigns, he's responsible for some of the biggest bullshit. He's the one that complained about the gravity suit chaning into the blue/purple color scheme and instead told the team to make it a cheap aura effect

People say this killed the franchise, but Prime 3 was the start of stagnation. Other M was just a lazy attempt to go back to "Sacredo Juhpanese deveroper" as a saving grace.

>cheap aura effect
Still fucking pissed.

Yeah I always think of these when I fight them in the games. Makes every encounter hilarious.

...

...

I had a ton of fun with it. Love playing as Samus in third-person. Control scheme was unnecessary though, nunchuk would've worked fine with a little tweaking. The goofy story didn't bother me. It reminded me a lot of Starship Troopers.

Of course it's not how I would have made a Metroid game, but I still enjoyed it. Plus I got it for only $9.

Given the severe negative reaction, I don't expect we'll see another third-person 3D Metroid anytime soon, which does sadden me a little. But it really is Nintendo's fault, they should have had some sense the campy story and terrible boxart would not go over well.

Eh, I'd say that was Fusion. Prime 3 was a more linear and cinematic affair but so was Fusion, and besides Prime 3 had its shit well enough together to conclude the trilogy with its head held high even if the Phaaze subplot was pretty much jumping the shark.

It had a few problems but it's still the best attempt at a 3D Metroid so far.

As much as I hate the game, her outfit at the end was great. She looks better with her hair down.

Would have loved it as an alt costume in Sm4sh.

Again, I agree, Prime 3 was okay but you could see the cracks starting to show, and Other M was awful. Metroid needs to get back to it's lonely, non linear roots.

I'd love to see a Metroid game done in a hand drawn comic book art style like the cutscenes and art for Zero Mission. I'd also like to see a game take place after Fusion with a still recovering Samus trying to clear her name and restore her power suit, with some new abilities and shit

...

Prime 3 was good even if more of the same. Metroid is a series that really did have a spotless record until it got soiled HARD.

hunters was not very good

Let's not conflate "best" and "most traditional". Yeah, it adheres to 2D Metroid structure more than the Prime games do but when it does it this poorly does that even matter?

The Prime games fucking butchered this series.

Enemy designs were awful and generic and fuck
Missing a huge amount of iconic power ups and weapons
Story is irrelevant
Game play is too slow for Metroid

It's like pointing at fucking DMC and saying "Yes, that's exactly how a Mario game should be"

They just copied fusion but made it even more linear

At least Other M attempted to play more like the 2D games and didn't just turn into a generic first person shooter because that was what was hot at the time thanks to Halo.

>Game play is too slow for Metroid
Spotted the GBAbby

My first playthrough was on Dolphin with a 360 pad and it wasn't completely terrible.
I thought the gameplay was alright and late game felt reminiscent of older Metroid games, am I senile?

It was good for what it was trying to do. Metroid even pulled off pinball.

Not that user, but Prime 3 was just OK. Not bad, but the worst of the Prime Trilogy by far for me. Well unless you count Hunters. Prime 3 wasn't bad, but I would play 1 and 2 again before I play 3 again.

Other M doesn't even follow traditional Metroid gameplay flow by locking doors for no reason and restricting power-ups to arbitrary cutscenes rather than just finding them.

Alright fine, I'll bite because I know you're the same shitposter, what iconic power ups and weapons are missing?

Not really. Powerups are locked behind cutscenes, and combat serves no purpose seeing as enemies don't drop health or ammo, you can just regenerate them, so that's arguably more Halo than Prime.

I've seen numerous people legitimately mistake the monsters for something from halo. I know prime fans claim it's shitposting but it's flat out denial in reality to ignore that they look and play so damned similar.

I didn't, I had a feeling it was going to be shit when I saw the name. They were turning 2D Metroid into some weebshit action game with a heavy handed story.

But the Prime games aren't generic first person shooters. Their FPS mechanics were never particularly good but combat wasn't the main draw of any of them. And really, is a bad 2D Metroid-like game (not by the series standards but actually, legitimately bad) really worse than a trilogy of action adventure games that still loosely adhered to the general idea of Metroid?

>Halo

You keep throwing that comparison around but it strongly indicates that you have not played Halo or any of the Prime games or neither.

ACfag never budges an inch, user.
You're beating yout fists against a brick wall.

So, what we're saying is we need a reboot?

The question is, would it be like DKCR or DmC?

Why do they call him "ACfag"?

I just wanted to see if he'll come up with some more mental gymnastics, I know he never budges but it's cute watching him try to rationalize his autism

>muh everyone who hates muh precious shit fps game is one internet bogeyman meme
