So what's Sup Forums's opinion on Specter of Torment? I thought it was good, but mostly because it's just build on an already great game. Specter Knight feels nowhere near as fun to move around as compared to Shovel Knight or especially Plague Knight, and the story has nowhere near the charm of Plague of Shadows.
Overall, it feels kind of rushed. Since so many levels where heavily redesigned, the devs mustn't have had the time to devote to any other areas.
All the music is amazing, though since Yacht Club just farms that out to a guy not officially part of the dev team, I'm not surprised it's just as good as always.

I liked that they were willing to go for a different kind of story this time around. They actually went through with having a genuine Bad End.
I also like how in the ending sequence that Specter Knight is the only member of the Order Of No Quarter to not kneel to the Enchantress.
Carter Ortiz
It feels like we're overdue for Shovel Knight 2.
I know we have to stick with the plans because of Kickstaster obligations, but it does feel like things are being a little hampered by the fact that they're remixing the same game instead of making a new one.

>Specter Knight feels nowhere near as fun to move around as compared to Shovel Knight or especially Plague Knight You gotta be fucking kidding me, he's the best playable character yet, it's extremely fun to play as him
Nolan Wright
It's not a remix technically, there are some almost completely the same rooms, but there's new rooms also.
Jason Richardson
The part I actually liked though is that they were basically brand new levels this time. Plague Knight's were redesigned a bit, but these ones were way different I didn't mind the lack of "charm", I don't think it would have been fitting for Specter.
Julian Hernandez
I feel like it crossed the line just enough for me to want to replay it. Usually I don't bother, like how in DMC it just awkwardly throws the different characters into the same story, but everything makes sense in Shovel Knight. Part of me wants every single boss character and Shield Knight to be playable, but the other part of me just wants a Shovel Knight 2.

>STILL not out on 3DS
William Lee
Yeah, but remixed bosses and rooms can really only do so much for me. It's like how would you feel if instead of Megaman 2 we got Megaman 1 twice over where you could play as Gutsman and Cutsman.
I'm looking for a sequel that goes bigger than the original game. While the expansions are great I feel like we're these up with a glass ceiling so that they can only be as good as Shovel Knight.
Jaxon Morgan
Is it even fucking out yet? In the UK.
Benjamin Ramirez
I understand what you're saying, but I think this expansion is better than Plague Knight which felt too similar to the original game.
Samuel Taylor
I really do think the characterization of the Order of No Quarter is awesome. It was something that I didn't know I wanted and it genuinely surprised me how well they fleshed out those little weirdos in the expansion.
What's up with King Knight anyway? Is he just going to be a reskin?
James Cox
>Specter Knight feels nowhere near as fun to move around as compared to Shovel Knight or especially Plague Knight. >he didn't use the Rail Mail
Jackson Murphy
I know that feeling.
Adrian Rodriguez
Yacht Club has said that they want to move onto another project after King Knight's campaign. They probably won't make SK2 for quite a while.
Angel Rivera
Storywise, Spectre is probably the weakest of the three. The level design is stronger than Shovel and Plague, though, so it's fine. I wish Plague Knight would've gotten the same level of effort put into changing up the levels that Spectre did.
Brody Garcia
Why do people like Plague Knights mechanics so much? I went back to him after Specter and he feels way slower and more imprecise, and potion mixing is tedious.

Pretty damn good but it's very easy compared to the Plague and Shovel Knight campaigns. The only part I had trouble with was the fight against the Enchantress. I enjoy the level design and replayed a few of the levels to speedrun them, something I usually don't do. Platforming feels great, skating around with the Rail Mail is amazing but I found the Curios to be useless. I barely used the feather and claw one.
The hub is pretty neat, I love how it gets more and more crowded as you progress through the game. The new stages look great too but the music for the most part is lacking.

Pretty accurate.
