Have you ever dropped a game? Why?
Have you ever dropped a game? Why?
Yaiba, ninja gaiden Z.
Dropped it on the last boss because he was way too long.
Starbound, it was awful
I did the exact same thing with Lord of the Fallen, but because the boss was just really shitty.
morrowind, after the whole character creation shit everything just seemed too dull
Yeah, Witcher 3.
Played it back to back with my ex, sitting next to each other. Once she dumped me I couldnt bring myself to keep on playing it.
Thief 4 - because it sucked major dick
Quake 4 - same reason
DoW II Chaos Rising - just got bored
Almost dropped DMC 3 because Vergil was pissing me off but then I realized I was playing it wrong
what a fucking moron right
yes, thousands.
because they couldn't hold my interest.
>town of salem
>first match get killed the second night, no idea what's going on
>second match get serial killer, immediately get called out because an escort visited me
>third match be one of the 6 surviving people
>turns out they were all mafia
>get hanged without a word
Dropped it there.
The Witcher 2
Faux fantasy medieval politics is fucking boring.
took ~3000 hours but yeah they're fucking it up so badly that i'm done for the forseeable future
I dropped Final Fantasy X 21 hours in (at the Calm Lands I think) because I couldn't stand the atrocious writing anymore. I literally had more fun playing Final Fantasy XIII.
Yes, it slipped out of the disc tray when I was pulling it out.
Terraria, thought it was dreadfully boring with a overly difficult learning curve for no other reason than lack of content
nier: automata
turbocuck detected
that's a boy
I've seen a ton of guys come to eve-online from elite, what's going on?
very often
>I get bored/tired of playing them
>something more interesting make me leave them
>the game is not to my tastes, not what I though it would be
>I reach a point in the game that is too hard and I can't work around it
recently dropped Hollow Knight because I hated the map system and found the game too hard
>Destiny, because I had no friends to play with.
>Diablo III because it just isn't my type
>Brink because come on
>Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV because I suck
>Wolfenstein PS3 don't remember why
>Vessel and Dragon's Dogma because I thought it was boring
I usually don't drop games but these ones I just couldn't push myself through
Yeah I have.
Its because I was carrying too many of them at a time.
Fortunately nothing was broken.
DON'T DO THE STUFF IN OP'S PIC
IT CREATES MUSTARD GAS IN YOUR HAND
I only play games till I die for the fist time. Every single video game is full of cheap deaths, so once I die I just get pissed and never play the game again.
Is that the puppet master?
Gears of War. I found it to be so tedious and the run/hug wall combined button pissed me off completely.
I slugged it through to the end and then I found out that the last fight would've been over in a few minutes if I had a light bow, a weapon I'd not bothered to use up until then.
Trying to run to the end of the last train car, Marcus hugging every fucking wall in sight, and with maybe a handful of shots from the pity bow they'd left by the door was the last straw, I just gave up. I really don't feel bad about it at all.
git gud
Just Cause 2- bored me to death
niet automata, the sidekick character is a pre pubescent boy so i said fuck that
(You)
that's the type of shit that never gets You's tho
Not him but the devs are slow to deliver very lackluster content that is almost always horribly balanced and riddled with bugs. The worst part is how little respect they have for people's time, the game is insane amounts of grind combined with RNG in the worst possible way and every time someone finds a way around their shitty grind they nerf it.
the witcher 1. the game had awful controls, quests, dilouge, pacing, storytelling, was frustrating beyond believe and it still get's praise by normies and cucks.
Street Fighter IV
Tried to train and keep a competent level even through vanilla Balrog and Sagat. Was happy when they added Dudley to Super but then lost all enthusiasm for the game when AE dropped and Yun came out.
The character was completely brainless and had the best synergy between all of his moves, EX'es, Super, and Ultra. Genei Jin was just as fucking broken as it was in 3s (a much better game) but with no parries to at least give you a chance of breaking out of his bullshit. Amazing command grab, dive-kick. Yuns were everywhere and it was fucking terrible. Even Daigo gave up and switched to Yun for a while.
Anyway, they ended up nerfing Yun a bit later but I gave up at that point. It just wasn't fun anymore. Tried to come back for Poison but just didn't care for how clunky and rigid the game feels.
thanks for extra salt
Plenty, partly because I can easily get distracted by other things and just not return to them. But there are a few games I dropped simply because I didn't like them. Sticker Star and FF XIII are two examples.
same for me, dropped after 8 tedious hours
nah im not salty because i got my money back fool
the game just isn't for everyone
Darksiders 2, one hour into the game because of the controls and loot system
Pillars of Eternity, underleveled before the final boss and too bored of the game to go back and do more quests
Sacred, wasn't really having fun, opened the map and saw its size. Same with Sacred 2
UT99, UT2k4, UT3, UT4, tried to like them but once I mastered the Quake tricks I was never able to go back to normal boring movements.
I dropped The Banner Saga, because I feel like the game is flawed
>ITT quitters
You people are what ruined the industry
Pid, because it's a really boring, shitty fucking indie game.
Breath of Death VIII, because it's a lelsoretro RPGmaker game with shitty pixel art that sold itself on nostalgia.
The writing in Breath of Death is so egregiously fucking terrible that I struggle to find a comparison.
But that's about it. The two games I've legitimately hated playing that come to mind. I even finished EYE, to the true ending, and that game fucking sucked. I swear it bought half the assets.
you did sound like a salty waifufag though
but if you dropped the game early then you wouldn't see any of 2B&9S to get mad at
Persona Q
The characters are blown out of proportion to the point of being "zany"
Also it's not a Persona game, it doesn't have anything to do with Persona besides the characters
I have better things to do than wade through the shit that developers padded their "experience" with
nice job outing yourself, normalfag personybro
I bet you've never even heard of EO
I dropped lords if the fallen half away trough the game because enemies were a fucking pain and there was ni weapon that would satisfy me, even lances were shirt ranged as fuck.
Overwatch. I got bored after a few hours and went back to quake live clan.
>personybro
faggot mods, I was trying to type p e r s o n i g g e r not be a consolewarring autist
Dragon Quest Heroes
Damn I thought that game looked fun and appealing to the eye, but it just felt so mundane to play and I felt so emotionless while playing it.
Sacrifices must be made.
VTMB on release, I didn't have internet and I couldn't be bothered to download the patch in some shitty turkish internet cafe, picked it up a few years later and I'm glad I did
>Skyrim
Walked around, had some shit fights with mages equipped with the aerosol can+match combo, levelled up and saw that half the features from Oblivion (a game with half the stuff from Morrowind missing) was missing and decided to put an end to the epic waypoint hunt.
>Just Cause 3
I was desperate for something to play and figured Just Cause 2 was "alright". What I got was all style no substance, a hollow world of nothing but explosions to the point that explosions lacked impact- they became the normal state of things. The combat was dry as absolute fuck. I walked into a no-go zone and a giant red circle appeared warning me of an imminent airstrike, I then proceeded to walk around the enemy base, forcing the magic marker to target me as I stood on key enemy locations and ust walking out of the radius as the bombs fell. After destroying the base by means of walking around it, I uninstalled the game.
>Mass Effect 2
Shepard died. Then he was alive again. Alright. Apparently the Mass Effect technology that did away with reloading in combat wasn't good enough and gunplay works like 20th century earth again. Alright. Oh we don't explore planets anymore? Nice. Oh my prior decisions, party members and face ain't shit? Hm. OH those ancient eldritch cephalopods from the starless corners of the universe are cannon fodder now? Who are these insect people?
Luckily I never got to see the fucking giant Human/Reaper combo thing.
Yeah the case slipped out of my hands.
In case yaiaba the biss would oretty much insta kill you on hard and call enemies that dont stagger with your attacks. So i had to 1-2 hit thise fuckers for half an hour.
vanilla WoW. it was just so pointless
Fallout 4. Came in it expected the magical feeling I had with Skyrim. Was given a boring Pseudo-1950 modern piece of crap.
internet kafeler eskisi gibi değil be kenks
Hang on, I don't remember the final boss being that bad. I do remember it taking way too long because unskippable invuln sections that can fuck off, which exist because Yaiba is a shitty western action game, but the mooks?
You just tore off an enemy weapon and slaughtered them, and used the hyper longranged fighting style to safely kill em. Final boss took 5 minutes tops.
yeah hombre you pretty much nailed it
just a fucking joke dev team and no tangible progress or expansion of shit to do once you're sitting in jameson memorial with five bil in hulls and another five bil in your wallet
glad i'm on dat SC train at this point
The only game I ever dropped before completion was F:NV. It's the only Fallout game I've ever played, and I did enjoy it a good bit, but when all of my fucking autosaves suddenly get corrupted and stop loading except one one single autosave literally 5 FUCKING HOURS BACK, I'm not going to bother any more.
>the magical feeling I had with Skyrim
ARROW 2 DA KNEE XDDD
Darksiders 2
Good game but got repetitive and went on for too long
SMT IV I lost my save due to corruption
Persona 3 & 4. Fuck those games are slow to start. Persona 5 has been a lot more fun so far
The Bureau Declassified because the last few levels just throw waves and waves of enemies at you and the game's clunky controls makes them difficult to deal with
Mario &a Luigi Dream Team.
Too many fucking tutorials
Yeah because ancient memes no one references anymore is what makes Skyrim great. How are those Overwatch memes you loved shitting all over Sup Forums the first 6 months that it was out?
In all serious, everything about Skyrim just felt satisfying for it's time. Performing magic(one of the few games that does lightning magic right), enchanting weapons(paralyzing guards with an arrow never got old), feeling like a fucking protagonist instead of a guy with abnormal powers since every quest/guild quest/side quest they make you feel like the head honcho after the fruit of your labor has been delivered instead of being someone's errand boy.
Persona and EO do not mesh well.
Seriously they had too many characters for the script to support, and instakill spells combined with regenerating SP trivialize regular enemy encounters.
That game was way too much of a slog for it to be interesting.
And this is coming from someone who beat Persona 1
FFXV, it was the biggest waste of money and time I think I've ever made.
Baten Kaitos because it was a boring slog. Not hard either before some redditor tells me to get good.
Lisa: The Painful because you have to backtrack every five minutes to get rid of your hangover. It got too tedious and annoying.
Darksiders, one of the most boring games i've played in years
I dropped one Spiderman game because the voice of Peter was atrociously bad. Those who have played it know exactly which game I'm talking about.
GTA V
uninteresting and repetitive.
I think Darksiders 1 with the portal bullshit
No he doesn't. You do sound like someone who doesn't know how to use buzzwords, though.
>everything about Skyrim just felt satisfying for it's time
Except it didn't.
>SHIT tier floaty combat
>dumbed down skill systems
>empty world
>decisions have no impact on anything
>bugs out the ass
>main storyline is just garbage
>radiant quests
>level fucking scaling
I've dropped all of these.
Republique because it's a shitty games.
Star Ocean because of the terrible writing and camera that bounces with the map terrain for whatever reason.
Natural Doctrine because it is one of the worst SRPGs I've played and probably the worst game I've played on the PS4.
persona 3
it was awful awful garbage compared to SMT and p2
Dude most RPG's these days just suck. My friend keeps trying to sell me on the Tales game but I'm just so bored by them.
Berseria is one of the best Tales games.
>oh no, doctors Connors class, I got so caught up in what I was doing, I forgot all about it, he's gonna kill me
No, not even close. Even Tobey Maguire reading from a script half asleep is better than the Pete voice in the game I'm talking about.
I can't stand EYE, looked like such a fun game but man did the controls suck ass
Yeah but if you don't like the style of the games, that doesn't mean anything.
I like SMT, Breath of Fire, Suikoden, and the older Persona (before 3) as well as Shadow Hearts, etc.
I just can't get engaged with the story or the gameplay.
Fucking this.
Western RPGs are all now empty open-world action-based garbage.
Eastern RPGs traded introducing new mechanics or cool spins to old mechanics for otaku pandering.
Well yeah, if you don't like the gameplay then there is nothing I can say.
>Best grill is MC's childhood friend
>MC finally goes on an adventure with her on tow
>She parts midway and never returns
Farcry 2, dropped it after a few hours because the game was boring and uninteresting, never bothered with the rest of the series.
Tactics Ogre: LUCT snes, battles are way too slow, exp and equipment seems hard to come by and I feel like the game expects you to go into training mode to level up your characters. Bows are overpowered and getting into melee range is too risky.
Vagrant Story, the game looks beautiful and has a nice ambience and music, the combat system is tolerable, but the menus are MGS3 tier and you'll have to keep switching between weapons types because otherwise enemies take no damage.
NSMB2
It was just fucking boring. Not a single original or interesting idea in that package.
They couldn't even be bothered to make some new music, just add BAHs to NSMBW's songs.
First time I've ever dropped a Mario game.
>Street Fighter IV
bet you wish you didn't drop it now that sfv is 1000000x worse than sfiv and makes option selects, crouch tec, plinking, 1f links, ultras, and fadc->ultra a trivial complaint
It was taking me way more because i was playing it on hard, so enemies had huge as lifebars.
Brutal Legend, bought and played it back when it first came out.
The gameplay was so bad that nothing else about the game could possibly carry enough weight. Sold it like a month after release for under $3 I don't know how it has such a high rating on steam
Yup, got stuck in the fucking mines of Moria because I crossed something without activating a switch and was literally stuck, had no saves that were anywhere near where I was in the game and sure as shit wasn't going to restart. To this day I wonder what the rest of the game plays like
That's a piece of fan art of a fictional canon female character.
did something like that in ff8 once, havent played it since ... it happened ~almost 20 years ago... been playing too many other games since then
my brother gave me the ol' spicy dreamcast disk
The Last Story on chapter 20, the game was boring and basically went stagnant on introducing anything fun the the combat after breaking magic circles. The only fun chapter really was the haunted house
Tri Force Heroes.
Fucking disgrace of a Zelda game.
Metro 2033. Triggered a checkpoint half a second before a certain death.
