FFXIV is the only one that's trying. Blizzard gave up on WoW years ago after they found new cash cows, Bioware never gave a shit about Star Wars.
Grim dawn, so you can enjoy interesting builds and good loot, contrary to every mmo experience I've had to date.
Ragnarok online.
Destiny
grim is just another solo player diablo clone with illusion of choice builds
> implying mmo's arent babbies first arpg with a safespace of handholding, uninteresting dps sticks and lack of actual builds that the player can make.
go play a sandbox mmo then
Neh, sandbox mmo is code for 'we barely made a game and there's insane grind'. Nope sorry, I have a life I must maintain other than grinding.
I can tell you don't play MMOs with friends
>implying he even has friends
Obviously, there's nothing more degenerate than playing with nerds. I have actual freinds that dont play games and I switch 'steamfriends' per game, because someone that's on your level in game A will be utterly shit in game B. Also I dont give 2 shits about some beta fucker I dont know or dont want to know.
runescape.
TOR is fun but you'll get through the story and likely want to just quit.
WoW will last an infinite amount of time and will always receive updates, if you have to pick from those three, pick WoW, always.
FFXIV is getting the new expack soon, wait till that drops and gets a discount.
>-Final Fantasy XIV
out of these 3
i suggest a ERP server
WoW. Solid company that has been around for years and continues to push out content and new games. WoW has more than enough content to keep you busy and a bigger community than other mmo's
>playing MMOs for more than a month
>not hyping up whatever run of the mill MMO is closest to release next
>then playing that for a month and repeating
Who the fuck honestly plays MMOs anymore
old school runescape unironically, if doubles.
That's too bad, sorry dude
ffxiv is killing wow
Play Tera and ESO, the ones you listed are shit.
Thanks, but really, there's nothing more annoying than having some social reject like you breathing into a cheap mic when I'm gaming with nice music on.
FFXIV has a better future than all those other MMOs.
ffxiv is fun
come play on behemoth with me.
i made rabbit pie
That's why I specified friends. Imo, if you don't have someone you're specifically playing with there's no point in playing an mmo
That was during Warlords. That shit is like 4 years old.
Where is this from?
if you have a couple bucks to spare and like a decent/good story, sub to TOR for one month and it allows you to solely do story quests and that's it
it gives you an insane amount of XP so all you have to do is go to one story point to the next, you can knock out most classes if you have some free time within the one month. good purchase imo
andromeda wasn't out when warlords was relevent
OSRS or EVE
My only experience is with WoW and FFXIV, I'd say go with FFXIV. It's much easier to jump in and the servers feel more alive than WoW. Almost nobody is leveling in WoW while I find tons of people in FFXIV.
>LoL top message board
>Morello literally wlil ban you for hyping supports or picking teemo
>They had to announce that picking teemo won't get you banned because it happened so often
Literally worst community, their message boards are just as bad, and you can get banned ingame for something you say on their boards, a hallmark of the worst message boards.
that's gamefaqs you stupid fuck.
>ffxiv is killing wow
ffxiv is killing itself
wow is killing wow
their weird friendly rivalry (weird because no way in fuck xiv can complete with wow, it's just the only real active game of the same type) with "let's time our raids to come out at the same time" is chortle-worthy
I always get demoralized with ToR since TSL is probably the best game ever made once those heroes restored a bunch of content to it.
I can only imagine how good that game woulda been had Lucasarts not been such jews and rush Obsidian during Kotor 2's developement.
I'd say WoW. It's bad as it is, but it's still miles ahead of any other mmo on the market right now.
Play a few free ones. GW2 maybe, TERA and stuff like that. If you don't get into them a few hours into it then go WoW.
...
Apparently you can't read.
do something productive instead
or you know play a game and not a grindfest
You said
>lol top message board
then rattled on about the devs for league banning people for shit, they have 0 influence on the GAMEFAQS board you stupid mong.
> Almost nobody is leveling in WoW
That's not true. I'm leveling a character right now and I see people all over the place. Not a whole lot, but considering boosts and dungeons and how vast the game world is by this point, it's hardly nobody.
Ouch.
>Top message board
>League of legends
Read, the, fucking, picture.
Wow.
Its not in its greatest place but it's fun and more accessible than the others. Swtor is clunky as fuck. Ff is weeb shit
I play Star trek online but I couldn't recommend it.
STO is terrible for new players.
In most mmos if a new player just follows a build it only takes a bit of skill to do well, in STO you could have the exact same gear as 'high end' player and still need to study to figure out how to play properly. A good player can solo everything in the game, the majority of players cannot even complete the content with 5 players.
The devs idea of balance is to nerf everything, this makes it even harder for newer players but the hardcore players only see the nerfs as a bit of a challenge.
The majority of players are between 8-20k dps.
The high end players are at 40k-500k dps.
Imagine trying to design any content in game for that spread of power. It is very common for 1 guy to solo stuff while the 4 other members of a pug haven't even got into range. Bear in mind this is not about gear or build choices, all the gear is easy to get most of it is very cheap, it isn't about p2w shit, the high end players are not doing better because they bought some new $30 ship. It is purely 'skill' , this game has all this arcane shit going on in background that is never explained to the player in any kind of tutorial.
No where in game does it explain how weapon power works or how eps works, the tooltips on items don't explain what '20% power transfer rate' is or what it does. But in this game understanding how it works means the difference between 10kdps and 100kdps.
Will any kikestarted MMOs end up even decent?
Isn't FFXIV down to just over 300k active users?
>their weird friendly rivalry
This one's all on blizz. They've been sniping their competitors' release dates for a decade now. It's literally their modus operanti.
If you believe the same type of ''''''census''''' that put wow at 500k. Blizzard pussied out of giving their numbers out after WoD, and xiv has never been honest - so who knows
Sounds like the future of XIV
EVE Online
LOTRO is extremely comfy if you enjoy lotr, even if you don't some of the environments like shire and Misty Mountains are amazing
Any tips on how to get into this fucking game? I've bought the starter packs like 4 times when they're $5 on steam because a lot of gameplay footage (which, granted, are likely highlight reels that represent 0.001% of your time in-game), but it's just not enjoyable. At all. I've tried going mining, tried doing military, tried going exploration (including the nullsec shit), and most of my time always ends up being spent browsing Sup Forums or reading a book on my second monitor while my ship does automated boring shit. Is there something I'm missing? Where's the fun?
>Forcing your kids to dress up as characters they don't even know
delet
It's more of like a true MMORPG. The fun doesn't come from an intuitive combat system. It comes from working with other players to accomplish larger goals, and building up your character and learning the ins and outs of the game. Because the game doesn't have limits on players in any area, you can contribute to any effort no matter how new you are.
The only reason people shit on eve for its combat is because they expect it to be like the hundreds of other shallow space shooter games. You have to see it more as a simulation, like SimCity.
There's literally nothing, Believe me, i've tried.
Pso2 maybe? If you're a weeb.
>trying
but it's so boring..
wait a year and then play a good mmorpg like Pantheon
Implying anything in this shit patch is considered content
Then I can promise you that WoW is not the way to go.
Wow is a grindy fuckfest right now w/ no actual content. You do bs "dailies" for AP and the gearing comes from either nethershards or heroics. If you don't have a guild runningshit you are stuck pugging til you get geared enough to get invited to a guild running heroics etc. Everyone is only doing nighthold until ToS comes out.
