This guy became completely immortal, invulnerable to death itself, but why is it seen as a horrible fate? Don't people want to live forever?

Isn't he trapped inside a pod

... no? Since when have you ever heard anyone say they want to live forever?

It's a Jojo reference

People want to live forever in the comfort and familiarity of their normal bodies. I've never played the game, but I assume his weird robot stasis pod form actually happens in-game, and that is not the kind of immortality people want.

It's a common thing in fiction and reality? People don't want to die.

There is nobody that would choose absolute eternal life if they thought for 5 seconds about it.

He is just an autistic little fuck.

I would

Immortality as is never aging or unable to die?

what is he even going to do for an eternity stuck in there? he'll go insane from boredom

No, actual eternal life is hell. A hundred years or less sucks for us but most only would want to live for maybe just a bit longer. Knowing that everything you will ever care about will be gone and witnessing the eventual destruction of your planet sounds like nothing short of a hell.

Porky was just a sad little boy, he didn't understand his fate when he seal himself in the absolutely safe capsule. Itoi has said 5.5 billion years after the events of Mother 3 even then Porky sits in the capsule. His only solace may be his own mental unstabaility.

Immortal, but not ageless or invulnerable.

He can't die, but his body is still broken and corrupted.

lolno

why is mother 3 so amazing?

>Live forever
Did you forget the part where he's stuck in a metal sphere? Hardly an enjoyable way to spend eternity.

Itoi is a good writer, gameplay is quite good as rythem comboing, enemies on the overworld, and no grinding make battles feel fun, as well beatiful art and music. Other then some pacing and story things its just very well made.

Honestly I'd choose immortality of it meant I'd get to witness the end of the world, the only problem is trying not to go insane waiting 4.5 billion more years for it to happen.

/thread

This pretty obvious.

At least Ness is fine with being a skeleton

guys

Immortality (can't age) > Mortality >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Immortality (can't die)

Not inside of a hamster ball.

"Immortality sucks" is just sour grapes in existential crisis form.

Imagine you woke up in your room one day as a frail old man (still mentally sound) and everything but your bed was gone. All you'd have is that bed and a single window, additional ones you might've had being removed. You try to leave, but the window won't budge. In fact, the entire room is impenetrable. Absolutely safe I might say. The sun could ram the Earth and your room and everything inside would be fine the whole time. Imagine that you eventually try to kill yourself but fail, as it turns out you're completely immortal. You'll never age and never incur damage. It even turns out your atoms, though maybe not the room's, are protected from decay.

You will be trapped in this room for trillions upon trillions upon trillions of years, up until the very matter that makes up the room finally breaks down. By this time you'll probably floating in a cold as fuck black void as a lot of other shit has probably decayed as well. Astronomical amounts of time later, and photons themselves decay; if there was ever a chance you'd get to see something before then, it's gone now. Light no longer exists. Infinite darkness.

If you're lucky, you might drift into a wayward black hole, but who knows what shit will happen then. It might turn out to be an even worse fate. However, let's say you don't. Those suckers will eventually evaporate... roughly 10^67 years from now. That's 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years, give or take. After that, the dark ages begin as you remain the only form of matter left in the entire universe, now so, so, so much bigger than it is today thanks to expansion. If you're lucky, though, quantum tunneling should form a new Earth or big bang (boy that would probably hurt like a bitch, huh?) for you in some countless googols of years later. Until then, enjoy eternal darkness.

Pokey is so fucked it's not even funny.

>ITT muh leg.

>unnecessarily dramatized video game scenario

Epic

Just use time travel.

At least he'll get to hang out with dinosaur if he waits long enough then.

i would
if i had True immortality can't die anyway or feel pain i would go full observer mode and just watch and learn as the human race grew

>entropy happens
>float in an empty void for eternity
>turn into sludge because of quantum tunneling
Morons.
