Do you really like using pretty much exclusively melee weapons and Left 4 Dead in the Warhammer setting? Do you hate rats?

Well I fell under those circumstances and got some enjoyment out of it. Think I picked it up for twenty bones and played it pretty consistently for a few weeks before moving on.

Isn't it dead though? Also my impression is that you need 4 people, and that it's just a loot grinder but without the level / weapon / character diversity of a Payday 2 or Warframe

Was fun for some 40 hours. Becomes less interesting once you realize how simple the combat is.

Still active even I play it because of the loot system. Also the trinkets that gives bonuses is pretty good but the rewards are higher in nightmare difficulty.

Pretty much anything with bots. I know they improved the AI last Christmas, but holy shit the bots were so fuckign bad.

They made L4D1 bots look smart.

Wait for a sale. When I tried it on a free weekend it crashed often for others and if the host left the game was fucked. May have changed but you never know.

I'm really tempted to buy this because the idea of more L4D2-like games is great to me and I really like Warhammer fantasy.
But I wish it had more players, the peak players seems to be around 1k in the weekend? With a game like this I really don't want to be playing with bots.
Any anons that play in EUW, are you having trouble finding people to play with?

It's a fun melee swarm shooter but a bit lacking in content. You can finish all the levels in one sitting and the rest of the enjoyment comes from replaying on harder difficulties while rolling for loot.

Is it on sale? If not I'd wait on it. Can be fun, but I wouldn't recommend it at full price of $30.

You may have issues finding games on the hardest difficulties or people playing the specific mission you want.

I played public one single time, and there was a guy who was level 250 and said something like "item dupe and ??? dupe btw" (can't remember exactly)

Sounds like he was asking if anyone was rocking the item dupe trinkets. Obviously it's tactically sound to let those people use supplies first.
It's very necessary to do that on higher difficulties.

The game is second only to Total Warhammer in production value and it has the smoothest first person melee combat in the industry. The game had choppy optimization at release but these days I average around 70fps on max settings during even the thickest battles. I'm running a rx480.

Which really put me off of playing public games. If you think it's just the items, that's great and I'll give it another go.

I have like 100 hours into this game; it's dead as fuck; if you don't have 3 other bro's good luck filling games. You need to get the DLC maps too or you're more segregated if you're playing solo.

Game is fun as fuck though; I loved it.

i put about 50 hours into this game and i had fun, good atmosphere. never really had any trouble with finding groups either.

i don't get why everyone complains about the loot in steam reviews, i have plenty of really nice weapons.

also everyone is really fucking bad at this game lol, just dodge and block retards how fucking hard is it

You only want to be playing Nightmare anyways, the second highest difficulty since Cataclysm is a very considerable step up in difficulty with minimal loot advantage
EUW is active and the daily contracts ensure a constant map cycle outside of the few farm maps

There's a modpack out there that'll fix up the AI a bit and I think it'll work online

I can consistently finish one nightmare level with 2+2, but it's a particularly easy level. Most other levels, at some point the bots really let me down and I get fucked beyond recovery.

yep, bots are pretty much useless after hard, whic is what you want to play for good loot

there's some mods that make the AI considerably better and add some other QoL improvements like seeing your allies trinkets

Repeater if you can get marksman and the more ammo skill on it. Otherwise pistols

i bought it last year and never had any trouble finding games, or you can just host your own and people will join after a while.

Bright Wizard most commonly shoots me in the back, with Witch Hunter being a close second. Although it's more common to see a good Saltzpyre than it is to see a good Fuegeounoasuosus

so did fatshark actually balance the other bows to be useful? because you can't blame people for using trueflight or hagbane when everything else is varying levels of liquid shit. or at least they were when i dropped the game

it's decent. though, without community content, expect to play the same few maps over and over. there are 2 types of missions: the main ones and the rest of the game is padded out with shitty l4d collect gasoline and bring it here maps

mostly melee weapons have been rebalanced greatly, but the regular swiftbow and longbow are still not quite as viable
but since they have 3 times as much ammo I found some builds to make them work somewhat

one of the bows has like 90 ammo standard, and if you're good enough to consistently headshot it's top tier.

I main the elf and only use the warbow. I rarely shoot anything smaller than a black rat with it, unless getting someone out of a shit spot.
I guess I'm the 2% elf that actually does my job (target specials and never get hit so I can heal my team mates instead).

Also, I love her glaive. It's a lot of fun to use the heavy-light armor pen combo to obliterate black rats up close.

Haven't played in a while, though. My friends seem over the game and relying on a PUG is more frustrating than fun.

The bots are massively improved.
You can actually get thru White Rat with bots now, whereas they used to plunge to their deaths at midway'ish to the mission.

true flight and hagbane to a smaller extent aren't really used for killing clan/slaverats either, trueflight is just ez headshots-u-around-the-corner specials and hagbane is the ogre killer. even after they fucked with the tracking of trueflight, it was still really efficient at killing specials

Why can't they make a tabletop WH40k game that you can play on your computer? I tried playing this shit IRL in high school and gave up when I realized how quickly buying these little plastic shits was draining my wallet.

Also painting and actually having the models is part of the fun.

I used the true flight before and after they "fixed" it, and it just felt bad to me. It worked okay more often than not, but when it decided to destroy a cringing slave rat off in a corner instead of that faggot hook rat directly under my crosshair, it was more than enough to make want to only rely on my (pretty good) manual aiming.
But I have a habit of sacrificing ease of use in favour of fun.

Sanctus Reach might be what you're looking for

It's repetitive, which is ok, in theory, but the issue is that instead of breaking up the repetitiveness with creative solutions, the devs decided to embrace it and make the game a loot-grind treadmill.

There are a lot better loot-oriented games out there, like PoE and Warframe and on top of that they're both free and much more in-depth than this Vermintide.

It's worth picking up if you just want more L4D, though.
