at the beginning there was dragons and dark
then a bunch of guys found a flame
they decided to kill dragons
era of light began
everyone's happy
flame gets out
oh shit, let's try to prevent that
bad things happen

Pretty much this.

Dont forget to say that he dont like humans

gywn is a bitch nigga that's scared of the dark

What was his endgame?

Who doesn't like humans?

Gwyn

ONCE UPON A TIME SOME FAGOTS KILLED SOME DRAGONS AND THEN THE LITTLEST FAGGOTS GOT TOLD TO FUCK OFF BY THE BIG FAGGOTS AND THE BIG FAGGOTS RULED THE WORLD FOR A LIKKLE BIT BUT THEN THEY STARTED DYING OR SOME SHIT AND THEN THE LITTLE FAGGOTS CAME ALONG AND COULDNT DIE

THEN SOME TIME PASSED AND SOME ASHY FAGGOT KILLED A NECKBEARD AT THE END OF TIME OR SOMETHING

Where does it say that?

What makes you think that? Anor Londo clearly had human accommodations, and he even gave the four rulers of New Londo a big chunk of his Soul.

It's not fair for DaSIII's picture to show the branches like that, but not for DaSII to have them.

Well, I think that locking all the Pygmies in a city in th emiddle of nowhere is a proof that he doesnt like them

Gwyn never hated humans, I have no idea where you got that from, Gwyn was afraid of the abyss and the Age of Dark but he had (and still has) loyal human servants.

to separate

Doing fucking whatnow?

miyazaki is done with dark souls
but will from continue to make souls games with a different director?

He sealed away humanity/pygmie's innate abyssal powers, and gave them a dung heap at the end of the world to call home, all whilst making sure they'd never be accredited the help they gave in the war against the dragons.

Safe to say the dude doesn't like them very much.

No

All those smaller paths on DS3 don't exist, honestly. It should just be a straight line with like 2 or 3 protrusions along the way. DS2's ain't far off, but it is a bit more reductionist than the others.

Were humans even fucking around during the dragon wars?

shit's is not on fire, yo

>Were humans even fucking around during the dragon wars?
I dont know if the humans were there, but you can see that the ringed knights were there and help to fight the dragons

The citation(s) for all of those is from item descriptions in the Ringed City, and promotional descriptions before its release. You should check it out, it was pretty good imo.

Berserk references, retcons, and "time is convoluted."

>KILLED A NECKBEARD AT THE END OF TIME
>DS1 starts you off locked away in the undead asylum to await the end of the world

DEEPEST LORE

I'm pretty sure that Silver Knights are whatever race Gwyn and Family are (I call them Titans)

Is Bloodborne the Dark Souls of JRPGs?

As far as we can tell, humans are either pygmies (Ringed Knights included,) or are extremely close descendants of Pygmies. "The" Pygmy is referred to as your progenitor in DS1.

its epic xd

OH SHIT are you telling me that there's actual new lore in it?

Blackflame Friede is fucking bullshit. She doesn't do one fucking move that doesn't either end in a grab, is part of a ridiculously long combo, or have some kind of bullshit AOE. And the first two phases aren't even hard! I can breeze through them in like three minutes. But then the third phase kills me within 20 seconds. I'm really fucking tired of it because this would be a great fight but the last phase is so fucking overpowered.

just summon a friend

Dark Souls 1 - They kinda had something interesting
Dark Souls 2 - They shit all over it
Dark Souls 3 - They shit all over it even more

Yeah, it's been giving some decent enough clarifications, though it's also been raising a few more questions (naturally).

then the humans was around there in the war against the dragons.... Interesting

Who was the best corrupted knight?

I guess this is the part where everyone just says to git gud? She staggers to most hits, so you should use that to your advantage. Maybe it's just cus I no-lifed the hell out of this game back in the first DLC, but I don't really have too much trouble with her anymore. Most of her attacks are pretty easily dodged so long as you know which direction to dodge in.

In terms of lore I'll say Artorias > Ludwig > Fume Knight
In a gameplay perspective I could put Ludwig before Artorias

So there's this dude and you're him and you need to save the planet? But you don't need to if you choose not to because you are the choosing undead because that's your name and the old man is waiting for you at the end of the game to die because it's called prepare to die edition?

>as you know which direction to dodge in.
that's probably my biggest problem. can make or break a fight

Then just spam roll

jupiter got retconned to the name gwyn, then the world started falling apart and they tried to restart it instead of doing something new. this repeats in every dark souls game until the end of ds3 literally tells you to stop.

True that. Instead of worrying about how many hits you can get in, just make the next couple of attempts dedicated to baiting out her attacks to see what you can do to get around them.

>That fucking Gwyn death
Maximum kek

this is good advice. thanks, user.

Rule of thumb: Always roll towards rather than away from

I've been told that regardless of which Dark Souls 1 ending you chose, it didn't matter since the cycle would just keep continuing, I can see that with lighting the fire but how does that work with letting it go out?

Oh look it's this meme again.

that's incorrect

To steal the power from Gravelord Nito and become a god or something.

>Shiva of the East's Ashes found in Anor Londo

Damn....how did they get there...?

>I can see that with lighting the fire but how does that work with letting it go out?

Aldia says in DaSII that the fire never actually goes out, even in the Age of Dark it's still there, dormant, waiting for someone strong enough to find it and rekindle it which makes the whole decision pointless.

What build are you using?

She's really easy to stagger specially with a UGS R2 to knock her on the ground you can just keep doing it

Or you can just use the profaned great sword and flip her around like a pancake

The ashes don't say who they belong to, the description goes "Umbral ash of an armor merchant from an eastern land", sure sounds like Shiva but I'm sure there were others merchants from the east.

that's kind of something that bothers me with dks lore, and i love the lore personally.
it's just so vague, but clearly a reference to something else ingame,
but still never incriminizes From if there's a plothole, because nothing is specific

Someone explain to me who Witch Beatrice was

DUDE FLAME AND DARK LMAO

Just some witch.

Incriminates, BRbro.

the best dark souls 1 waifu

She's a godsend against the Moonlight Butterfly for melee builds (str or dex) and even clerics because unlike dark souls 2 you cant get lighting spear or anything like that right out of the gate (start new das2 character, leave tutorial area, speed run to dragonrider, cheese him, level faith and attunement. Maybe twenty minutes or so since your character was "born:" and you have lightning spear).

How is she able to walk in the Abyss?
Why does she have her own set?
Do we meet her again in any game?
Where's the porn?

From the age so old that even the most ancient beings had forgotten there was an evil so dark that it was the darkest of all souls and this so called "Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition" imbedded itself within the frail weak vessel of man and thus the cycle continued... undead... theyre a thing, and they seek the souls of the dark...

There is no lore.
Beyond the scope of Tanimura, beyond the reach of Miyazaki...what could possibly await us?
And yet, we seek it, insatiably...
Such is our fate.

time is convoluted and what not so she bought the key to that area of darkroot garden to? idk.

We don't meet her exactly in any game but we meet reincarnations of her or something like. in dark souls 2 and 3 there is Zullie The Witch (she's not an npc in either games but she does exist in lore and in dark souls 3: the ringed city Alva, the Wayfarer is protecting her grave ;_;). Also in dark souls 3 there's Carla who is a dark sorcerer/priestess who looks similar to Witch Beatrice.

>the Sable Church bow down to the Primordial Serpents
>in contact with Velka
>rumored to possess the art of Dark Hand
>control Lordran with a titanite fist
>own castles and banks all over the world
>direct descendants of the ancient archdragons
>will bankroll the first cities in the Abyss (Framptograd will be the first city)
>in the process of terraforming Londor as their personal city
>own basically every respeccing facility in the Cathedral of the Deep
>first respecs will become serpents (after 5 respecs)
>both Primordial Serpents said to have 400+ Humanity
>ancient Way of White scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Upper Lothric Castle and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented arcane progress with them
-They own Carimite shrines around the world
-You likely have Humanity worms inside you right now
-The Primordial Serpents are in regular communication with the knights Ornstein and Smough, forwarding the word of Gwyn to the Way of White. Who do you think set up the meeting between the Sable Church & the Way of White (First meeting between the two organisations in over 1000 cycles) and arranged the Way of White leader’s first trip to Lothric Castle in history literally a few days later to the Primordial Serpent bunker in the Grand Archives?
-They learned fluent Thorolundish in under a week
-Gwyn entrusts his Lord Soul reserve with the Serpents. There’s no Dark Soul in the Ringed City, only Londor
-The twins are about 3 cycles old, from the space-time reference point of the base Dark Souls player currently accepted by lore theorists
-In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the Age of Ancients to the end of the universe. We don’t know their ultimate plans yet. We hope they’re benevolent beings.

I am in full support of the theory that Karla is the daughter of Alva and Zullie

too*
something like that*

Man my typing is shit today.

that theory warms my heart.

Yeah, Banco will force them to make it forever cause it sells

Random shit; pretend its coherent and deep

Done

They would be pretty retarded not to.

That said, I've no doubt they're going to take a break for a while.

>incriminizes
im actually completely white american, and now i feel very stupid

>Gwyn's death
>Seath

Run it down.

i didnt realize at first they were basically showing seath banging gwynevere.

awkward_boner.jpg

This user got it

thats amazing. hard to choose my favorite character there. I think Friede just casually taking a sip from the wine glass. Even though other characters look undeniably cute/funny.

Honestly, the DLC left me with more questions than answers.

Gwyns death is fucking comedy gold.

You can get lightning spear early in DaS. All you need is 25 faith (without helping anyone in coop, it's less if you do) and then you can enter the sun bro covenant and you get it. It requires 20 faith to use

Necromancer that tried to drain Nito's power but messed up and ended up being melted together with his wife and kid

>ended up being melted together with his wife and kid

Nope.

>Witch of Izalith's fucking googly eyes

oh shit.

>that theory warms my heart.

Pretty sure the theory also includes the implication Karla kills her mother.

He employed slave knights from the undead, and sealed away their abyssal birthright with the dark sign/ringed seal, then imprisoned them. He was such a cocksucker to them that they actually turned to the Abyss. That's the new lore of the Ringed City: Gwyn was an asshole.

Yes, some undead/humans still served him, but there were legitimate reasons to call him out.

The fire fades literally and metaphorically

Yes. Their role is expanded on in The Ringed City, and it's pretty cool.

>Gwyn was an asshole.

I've always thought this, nothing new to me.

the real monster is man

If pinwheel didn't have the cloak it would be easily ten times more frightening

ring two bells pick a snake and decide if you want to set yourself on fire

oh woops...well fuck. I really wish my toaster of a laptop could run dark souls 3. I have done all the achievements in dark souls 1 and 2 (sotfs, i probably will get all the achievements in the original dark souls 2, which is better imo).

Pinwheel is actually a great design but they squandered it so hard in the game, his in-game model isn't nearly as creepy as the concept art and his pathetically easy and un-intimidating.

imagine if pinwheel didn't exist in dark souls 1 and was introduced in dark souls 3 with some extra creepy (re)skin. It could have been awesome.

>tfw pinwheel will never be scary or hard

>the best dark souls 1 waifu
Thatm is not quelana

You know exactly how she got there.

Can someone explain DaS 3 plot?
