You're goddamn right he was

Hi

>mfw seeing the bad ending

delete

Fou-lu did nothing wrong
After seeing what he saw, I would have done the same thing

what other games let me become the final boss?

Oh, I'd forgotten about that
That was fun as fuck

live a live

...There's people who think what he did was wrong?

Yes.

>mfw she was sacrificed for the Carronade and Fou-lu then decided to lay waste to the entire empire

BoF IV's biggest problem was just how sympathetic the antagonist was
At the end of the game when he asks you about your experiences throughout your journey, you can't argue with him
When he asks if people are monstrous and shows you human sacrifice, you can't disagree
When he asks if people are cruel and shows you torturing woman and children, you can't disagree
When he asks if people are malicious and shows you the Hexes, you can't disagree
So you end up agreeing with him and getting the bad ending.

Goddamn this game had a great OST

We won't get something as good as this for a long time user. Such is our misfortune.

>Breath of Fire 6
>mobile shit

Out of curiosity, is the story of V or III as good as this one?

III is good but it takes a while to get to the meat of the story

Dragon Quarter is a fun dungeon crawler, but the story's only stand out factor is how much background shit there's going on that you'll uncover if you enjoy it enough to replay it as intended.

III has a weaker story, but some more fun mechanics and is more open than IV. But III is even slower to start than IV is.

haha...

Thanks anons!

Posting a REAL antagonist who did absolutely nothing wrong and was objectively correct.

Basically.
>Got away with everything
Pic related. Why couldn't we kill the bastard?

Even if you killed him, there would be thousands of others who would use Hex and torture like he did without hesitation.

Yes, and? You get dragon powers, killing everyone is actually an option.

Tried III but got bored by the time ryu became an adult. Would you recommend IV or V to me? I love the art of this series and feel bad not playing something so pretty looking.

All I have ever wanted out of life is a remake of 3 where you can defeat bailo and sunder at the tree house and then spend the rest of your childhood growing up with Rei and Teepo, going on adventures and having fun and just being kids.

Doesn't that just beat all?

xillia 2
only good part of the game desu

IV is definitely a different kettle of fish to III
If the thread wasn't obvious enough already, there's some really dark themes

III is very good, but there are a few lulls in the story that make it feel slower

>tfw no uncensored version of bof 4

IV still has a bit of a slow start to it, but picks up quicker than III does, and is a quite a bit more straightforward, especially with infinitely less annoying sidequests.

V is largely designed as an antithesis to the series, it's a dungeon crawler with finite enemies, designed around limited saves and starting over a in ng+ fashion if you find yourself screwed, and extremely linear prior to beating the game the first time where you unlock some optional paths based on your rating.

Isn't he basically a good person that does a fucking lot of bad things?

That was why I killed Myria
I didn't do it because of the massacre of the Brood, not for the future of the world and not to end the tyranny of her rule.
But because she brainwashed my brother and forced me to fight him.
Teepo......

>Rei has some questions about his nature he wants Myria to respond
>He gets nothing
I still wonder what his WereTiger thing was all about.

>mfw they also shot Fou-Lu right in the head with the cannon (USING HER AS THE AMMO)

Just leave this poor bastard alone, sweet Jesus fuck.

Vanguard Bandits comes close.

Thanks, on break this week so maybe I'll go download IV.

Not going to lie, the animal people were a bit offputting but I quite enjoyed III. Although I liked it that pace was just killing my interest.

I for one would support Fu-Lu.

After that, I knew I wasn't going to stop him

...

I wonder if all the Worren had that ability?

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters

Kind of Shadowrun Dragonfall and Shadowrun Hong Kong.

I spoiled myself with Soul Nomad but it may be time to play it and finish it.

It's my favorite NIS game. Absolutely no strategy involved since the optimal strategy is just to solo every map, but I still enjoyed it.

I keep getting bogged down randomizing rooms. Can I ignore the item world?

I would argue that that's a strength of the game. You understand what he says is correct but it's not necessarily the right thing to do.

>the shisu sidequest

But the game never really makes a case for 'good'
It just expects you to pick it because it's the right thing to do without offering evidenced reasoning
Like a kind of generic "You have to hope for a better tomorrow" tripe

I think so? I last played it in 2012. I remember it not being very hard.

>mfw over 2/3 through the game and we're still doing this shit

The whole idea is to hope that decent people like the princess would keep a lid on human malice / self interest.

>Like a kind of generic "You have to hope for a better tomorrow" tripe

As well as a

>if you kill them, you'll be just as bad as them!

For my money, it was a case of intangible potential maybe hope for tomorrow vs proven evidence of people being absolute shitcunts on several occasions
It was a no-brainer

In theory, the journey you took with the party is supposed to be the case for good since it's supposed to show while there are people like Yuna, there's also people like Nina and Cray on the other side. Basically you were either deciding if the potential for good in humans outweighed the potential for evil, which is a very subjective choice depending on what you got from the game.

Yup, you can if you want but it'll make the post game easier if you do tho. Its best to get the world that increases a solo unit by 200+% or something like that.

>Tfw six is a mobile shit game
Fuck you capcom for killing this series.

I beat it but I hated it. The maps were to large and the fighting was too slow.

But the sheer magnitude and frequency of negativity in the game completely tipped the scales

Thanks anons! I am itching to get back into it again.

And the game gave you the option to agree with him.

But Gig's voice acting!

Just get him in disgaea dlc and watch a lets play. That system is just awful. It took me 30 minutes to do shit that should have taken 5.

To be fair everyone is playing for the story not the gameplay.

Was Myria right?

>uncensored version

Explain...

Remember dog swordman stuttering? That's him supposed to be shitfaced drunk 24/7 through the whole game.

In the uncensored version you got to see Soniel being decapitated as well as a bathing scene with Nina and Ursula. Also, Scias was portrayed as a drunk instead of merely just a stutterer

So where does 4 go in the timeline?

localization cucks cut out a few sex jokes and a hotsprings scene and bare-ass character sprites

Oh damn. Count me as another passenger on this bandwagon.

I'd much prefer games to come to the West with localizations true to the source material instead of edited and censored to "fit the style" westerners are used to.

i love this lie. 'the style we are used to lol', meanwhile in actual real life, little girls running around in thongs, pg movies/children's television shows with sex jokes/scenes, violence violence everywhere, zero fucks given but OH NO. NOT IN OUR VIDEO GAMES, A VENUE OF ENTERTAINMENT DOMINATED BY 18-30 YEAR OLD MALES. WE MUST PROTECT OUR VIRIGIN EYES AND EARS FROM THE STUFF THAT GETS PLASTERED ALL OVER THE RADIO, TV, MAGAZINES, MOVIES, WORK AND SCHOOL.

Who are you arguing against? Me or the assholes who change the games when they come to the West?

Wasn't she originally Tyr reborn despite being destroyed in the end of the original Breath of Fire's good ending?

He stabbed me in the god damn knee for no reason

Well, the mural in Dragnier did depict the original battle with the Goddess so it's possible

Did it? Goddamn, it's been so long since I've played BoF3. And to think I never finished it because despite my levels, I completely ignored the Master system in the game and was therefore severely underpowered by the moment of the final fight.

Also, now that I'm thinking of it, didn't someone discover a way to use Kaiser without being Berserk or having to use the Failure gene to control and weaken it?

4 doesn't take place in the same continuity as 1 - 3, sadly. It is self-contained, just like 5 is.

Ahh, it seems she is the same goddess. Deatheaven in the second game was some leftover spawn of hers, it seems.

Too bad that BoF2 has to have a re-translation patch on an emulated copy to get a coherent story out of it. That butchered official translation was pretty bad.
