you need at least a 1060.

>$1700
anything less than 1k?

okay i can go $120 more what games can that run?
and can i get windows 7 on it?

what this user said

>Display: 15.6" Full HD | eDP Vivid Color 1920x1080 | Operating System: Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i7-7700HQ (2.8-3.8GHz)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA's GTX 960M 2G GDDR5
RAM: 8GB DDR4 2400MHz | Hard Drive: 1TB (7200RPM)
Special features: Cooler Boost 4 | Steel Series Keyboard | Nahimic Audio Enhancer

Should be good for games in general- medium to high settings i think

it's a 1060 that's slightly downclocked. they use the full chip now. look up benchmarks for a 1060 and drop like 5-10 frames maybe
.

games from

What are you trying to say user?

isn't the anons link above the better deal though?

the card
that's in it
is a 1060, that's slightly downclocked
but it's a full size chip, just like in a desktop gpu
as opposed to a mobile variant

if you mean this then yes its the better deal because the graphic card is better, newer and has more vram, but the first one have the better processor though.

ah alright thanks but i would be able to install windows 7 on both right user?

No unfortunately. Win 7 hates Kaby Lake.

Hard to answer that since they are laptops, you need to do a little research and see if they are compitable with windows 7 or not.

no. 960m with windows 10 has a huge issue of causing diagonal screen tearing. it's fucking horrific when playing games.

this. I have a similar laptop to OP and have this exact problem.

I seem to not have that issue
y700 user

it's only on some games, but if you have it on a game you want to play you're fucked.

i have haven't ran into any problems yet

i will give you a warning though. The audio drivers are trash

Why is it that audio drivers preinstalled are always shit?
Is it just that Realtek has no fucking idea what they're doing?

>Gaming laptop
>prebuilt

the better cpu is a meme, the 6700 is fine senpai

its realtek

installed on top of another version of realtek but with a different name

i have better quality with bluetooth headphones than using the aux.

So wait, if I have screen tearing is because of W10?
Can I just go to W7?

yeah the drivers are incompatible with windows 10 and neither nvidia nor microsoft can't be fucked to fix it

>superior audio on bluetooth
how the flying fuck did they mess up so bad?

>laptop
Doesn't matter, it's going to burst in flames anyway.

realtek is a bunch of chink jews and there are no other alternatives for sound drivers other than paying for a soundcard.

they have everyone by the dick.

>So wait, if I have screen tearing is because of W10?
It's a specific type of screen tearing, not just any screen tearing.

>Doesn't matter, it's going to burst in flames anyway.
well what's a good laptop the browse Sup Forums and watch anime on? i hate sitting a damn desk all day

can you install windows 7 or 8 on it?

thanks desu

>a good laptop the browse Sup Forums and watch anime on?

go buy the cheapest thinkpad laptop you can find

install gentoo

and there you go

depends on the laptop i guess but i would assume so

how do you even build a desktop? i guess it would be easy to put together i just wouldn't know what parts to buy

read

fuck
well is there any good laptop for

>Gaming laptop
Literally no excuse to own one unless you're constantly traveling

Useful if you don't have any space.

sporting a HP ax280 myself because I'm spending a long time abroad. Thing sounds like its about to take off if I start a game though. So if you're gonna get it I'd highly advise getting a platform with it, preferably one with coolers on it. I got the CM notepal U3 plus for mine

you can build a micro atx pc with a 1080 in it and get a portable 19 inch monitor that hides away in a trolley. size is not a consideration nowadays

>So since kaby lakes aren't compatible with win 7, pretty sure that anything that isn't kaby lake (the processor doesn't start with a 7 after the hyphen e.g i5-7300 or something. I think skylakes are fine, but just generally avoid kaby lakes and look up compatibility for anything else you're interested in

fuck i made it greentext for some reason

that's still way too big. if it can't fit inside of a small school sized backpack with all my other belongings it's dropped.

is this a good build? what's missing from it?
newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.3442610

I'm actually on this right now. Mine's hooked up to 2 other monitors. It can run modern games, but not everything on highest settings. Newer Total War titles lag like crazy so I still play medieval 2. I'm satisfied with my purchase, but if I were you, I'd save and get a model with a 970 or 1070 at least. If that's not an option then go for it.

The fucking kicker is that I got the msiGE62 laptop and the speakers sound god awful without this stupid nahimic driver shit.

Sadly the GPU is pretty weak which explains the price. Laptops have really catched up in performance but not in price.

You fags wanna rate my PC? I built it crash course with help from irl Sup Forums friend, has water cooler.
