Has anyone here played this VN? It's pretty great. Full of great characters, except for one little white haired BITCH. I think Mizuki's route was pretty nice. Fearless and driven to do shit with her life, trying to find meaning where there isn't much. It's commendable!
I have a wallpaper of this somehow and never heard or played this game. I don't even play vns
Matthew Sanders
Aeka route god tier Tiddy girl route is m night shamalam tier with man tears Homeless drug girl is the worst and completely ruins the vn LITERALLY unplayable
Michael Hughes
Remember when this was babby's first vn?
I don't remember much, but I liked when you teamed up with bullied student and choked that one cunt.
Xavier Ward
Neko is best girl, best route Aeka is mid tier. She's pretty alright. Animetiddies McFucksonthefirstdate is worst girl and should've be replaced with sister route.
The creator went out of business after the financial collapse of 2008. Even their own website went down in 2010. YMK will be forever lost to time. RIP
Blake Bennett
Aeka best girl/route, never did titty presidents route, druggie was kinda fun >One little white haired BITCH Antoinette go and stay go you cuck
Luke Cook
God thats depressing. This was my first visual novel and to know that information makes me depressed as shit
Eli Ortiz
I'm not a cuck. I'm getting my OWN game, where I'll have Kouhei ALL TO MYSELF.
Fuck you.
Landon Brooks
Most VN companies didn't survive 2008, sadly. Hell, I'm pretty sure even Broccoli went under, and in the early 2000's, non-Shonen-Jump anime culture revolved around their Galaxy Angel and their one rival, Fate/Stay.
At least, I assume, because I haven't seen jack shit out of Broccoli in a decade almost.
Jonathan Diaz
Worse than death, Broccoli became an otome game company. Fucking RIP
Adrian Flores
At least fate/stay will never die right?
Luke Cooper
Can confirm, she's dead, Jim.
>no imouto route ever
Gabriel Brown
I still have a copy of the game and I'd like to rip the assets, since I'm making my own fangame of it.
Gavin Johnson
Go right ahead. Ruf is dead
See:
Ryan Campbell
Mizuki is best, I don't give a fuck.
Hunter Rodriguez
Can the game still be downloaded?
Asher Thomas
I know. I'm having trouble finding out how to do that. Asset extraction is not my strong point.
I'm willing to pay someone to do it.
Easton Jackson
>Wanted anal fairy. >Got sucked into the suicide case.
Connor White
>tfw gf dies because you wouldnt cum right away to her footjob
Camden Torres
Of course. The official company died a decade ago, and torrents of the game have been up for almost a decade.
Oliver Collins
>It's pretty great. You sick fuck.
Julian Hernandez
>fangame Please make this happen.
Adam Cruz
Have to agree with this. I didn't even finish the last route and I actually ended up feeling things during the first one even though I only went into this for the choking meme.
Daniel Bennett
I remember. Long before Katawa Shoujo came out, this game was THE go-to first vn people on Sup Forums would recommend and talk about.
I really need to replay to see if it's as good as I remembered or not.
Jaxon Richardson
You forget Clannad and Kanon.
Lucas James
I'm making an Antoinette route/game that basically explores a little what-if scenario I've had in my head.
Charles Jackson
The mid 2000's had some pretty good VN's. So far, I've enjoyed: >YMK >Koihime Musou >Wanko to Kurasou >Galaxy Angel 1 - 3 >Fate/Stay Night
In particular, I'd recommend Koihime Musou out of these VN's. The girls are great, the humor is fantastic, and the combat is fun for the first 30 hours or so.
Evan Lee

Luke Powell
Try this.
Christopher Wood
>Jew York Oy vey, keep those disgusting lesbos oudda here, you filthy goyim
Isaiah Lewis
>Jew York
Asher Morris
I didn't much care for the gameplay, but I loved the setting.
I wish there were more VN's set in a cyberpunk/futuristic/space setting. The only other -quality- one I can think of is Yumina the Ethereal post-chapter 4
Caleb Long
Clannad is like a bazillion hours long, it was recommended but it wasn't babby's first VN.
Logan Butler
Any +18 VNs with Telltale levels of choice quantity?, i don't care if they dont mean shit at the end i just want to be able to choose what my character says
Jaxson Anderson
>Both of them end up as dropouts in Aeka's route They're definitely dead in the alternate universe where Neko isn't chosen. The financial crisis definitely fucked them, they got into drugs, Aeka was prostituted out to the Yakuza, and Kouhei was shot to death and dumped in Kyoto Bay
Brody Campbell
>Full of great characters, except for one little white haired BITCH. Fucking kill yourself, Antoinette Birch. Aeka's route killed me inside, especially that rooftop scene. Seeing Antoinette made me so fucking mad it's silly. I've never hated anyone that fiercely before. Real life bullying makes me legitimately sick. It's no surprise that Hanako was my favorite in Katawa Shoujo as well. The rooftop scene made me actually want to kill Antoinette and that Asian nigger.
Fuck, now i'm getting pissed off thinking about it again. >Koihime Musou >Wanko to Kurasou Infinitely superb taste, my man. Have you seen the Koihime Musou anime(s)? It's fucking delicious yuri. Do NOT post these fucking comics you nigger. I will find you.
Joseph Johnson
Not all that many, but you do have Koihime Musou and Majikoi. The later gives you like 40 - 50 different choices and leaves your path through the mid game completely open.
Hudson Lewis
Eh, I dropped the Koihime Musou anime because it wasn't enough like the game. It's one of my all time favorite VN's, easily top 10 out of the 50 or so that I've read through.
Leo Turner
Man, thinking back this game is pretty uniuqe in being fucked up. Maybe my brain melted because of moeshit but YMK had some pretty serious themes, bullying, drug abuse and so on.
It's been years man, time to let go.
Austin Long
There's an asset extractor for the Muv-Luv games so you might want to see if the creators of that left any documentation
Michael Russell
The OST is fucking great and Aeka is best girl period.
Jacob Hill
He'll be insanely triggered once antoinette route user finally releases his game.
Adrian Thomas
There are a couple of VN's the get just as fucked up, if not more so, but they're usually not as popular as generic school battle shit where the MC is a Gary Stu with super powers and an undeserving harem.
Levi Brooks
Not as good as Neko.
Besides, she has the worst ending. At least with Neko, Kouhei ends up marrying the manager of a fucking successful themepark and producing 8 children. Aeka and him just drop out of highschool, in fucking Japan. He couldn't get a job if he tried, and neither can she (outside of prostitution)
Robert Thompson
Elf survived.
Xavier Mitchell
everyone's played YMK
aeka best grill
Jaxon Hernandez
>generic school battle shit where the MC is a Gary Stu with super powers and an undeserving harem. That's probably because you're one of the only ones that hate that theme. I fucking love slice of life school harem moeblob games/animes. I don't care how generic it is, I enjoy them the most.
Michael Perez
>First route you played is the best route. Nekoko for me.
Little surprised there wasn't a gay route.
Josiah Mitchell
I mean, they're preferable to Isekai shit that's been plaguing manga and anime as of late, but I still think that school battle shit needs to innovate or die. It's all the same. 9/10 times, it involves swordsmen. The least they could do is emulate a good school battle series like A Certain Magical Index.
Generic highschool stuff is fine. Hell, I even enjoyed Majikoi, and that was about as generic as you could get, aside from the BASED as fuck MC. But after I finished Ayakashibito, I got sick of school battle VNs. I couldn't even get out of the common route on Koiken Otome.
William Williams
There was supposed to be a sister route and 1 more route, by the developer (the head honcho of the team, who writes pretty good shit in general) decided to get the game out ASAP and finish the routes later.
Later never came because then the global economy shit the bed and still hasn't recovered.
Jace Garcia
>Later never came because then the global economy shit the bed and still hasn't recovered. Fuck this world.
Nathan Clark
>no gay route >no imouto route >no nanjou route
Jose Ramirez
Anyone got the choking scene pic with the guys on the couch being excited then disappointed after she Aeka says you can't kill her, but then they get excited again after she wants to choke her out as well.
Parker Mitchell
>I'm getting my OWN game, where I'll have Kouhei ALL TO MYSELF. Can't wait, desu.
I'm no good with the technical side of things myself, but there's an user who's sometimes in these threads who ripped all in the game assets. In fact, he's looking for you >boards.fireden.net/v/thread/362440071/#362458841
Noah Scott
The route you got while being yourself is the best one.
Mi Zu Ki
Joseph Gomez
Hey, don't feel bad. The main idea's guy behind it also wrote Cross Channel, the highest rated VN translated to English, so he does have quite the renown. He's floating out there, somewhere.
However, I don't think he's ever said anything about returning to YMK. Maybe he doesn't have the rights to it, like how Kamiya can't make more Okami games because Capcom owns it. Maybe he can't secure the funding to write more routes. Maybe he just wants to forget it all.
Cameron Diaz
I don't get how anyone liked this. It made me stop playing VN's it was so bad. It was DRAMA the fucking "game." After this I tried the one with the deaf in one ear red-haired chick and loli-ghost. Fuck that was shit too.
My tastes are totally different. I hate Drama. I didn't know most VN's were drama. I was a beginner and bought My GF is President, and Koihime Musou as my firsts. Loved them both. My GF is President is still my favorite. I like comedy. I after that I tried out the games people were praising(the two above). Thank god I was smart enough to Torrent YMK instead of buying it.
Hudson Rivera
What kind of person do you have to be to like a literal psychotic bitch out of all of the characters in the game? Did you ever shoot up a school when you were a teen?
Xavier Ross
I wish Shin Koihime got an ENG version.
Easton Torres
I can't agree with your sentiment, since 2 of my 3 favorite VN's are pretty serious business, but the third one is known for its GOAT gameplay. That one being Kamidori Alchemy Meister, which is also one of my favorite /games/ of all time, not just my favorite /visual novel/.
Some other mostly-humourous VN's, though of varying quality: >Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort >Yumina the Ethereal (has some drama, but is better than most of the others on this list, too) >Wanko to Kurasou >Shin Koihime Musou >Monster Girl Quest Paradox (not fully translated, missing sex scenes) >Princess Evangile >Majikoi
David Cooper
Anonymous deliveries.
Robert Sanchez
It's being translated by fans. Mostly completely translated, but going to go through the lengthy QC phase because the game is huge and is going to need a thrice over.
James Clark
Are you fucking stupid? >Says he hates drama >Plays Drama:The Game >WTF HOW CAN PEOPLE LIKE THIS ITS SO BAD? Do you play Mario games and complain about the collecting? Like seriously, you can't fault a game just because you personally don't like the theme of it. That's your own damn fault for playing a game with a theme you don't like, not because the game is bad.
Cooper Lewis
Isn't this that one NTR VN that triggers everyone?
Henry Long
I know how he feels. I hate collect-a-thons. My favorite Marios are SMW, SM3DW, SMB3, and SMG2 (minus the green stars segments)
Agreed, nothing else in vidya (or most mediums at all) has ever provoked such strong feelings in me as YMK, and the climax of Aeka's route most strongly of all. The anger, the righteous fury, and then the sheer awesome and satisfaction of beating Nanjou once and for all >that moment Kouhei single-handedly BTFOs her bitch gang >that moment he makes the first cut
>so he does have quite the renown. He's floating out there, somewhere. Thanks, user, that makes me feel better. It's a shame he can't finish the game as he intended, but it's good to know it wasn't his only project. I've never taken notice of Cross Channel before, I'll have to try it out! Thanks user.
Mason Reyes
>fan of comedy >not a fan of drama I can't knock you for your tastes, but I will feel a little sad I can't share the joy I've experience with some of these games.
In the case of YMK, the drama allows you to be the change and get the girl.
Even monster girl quest had moments of drama.
Evan Walker
>Feeding not just a minor, but a 100 pure liquid water spirit, alcohol WHY
Jeremiah Campbell
NTR? No, it has bullying. Like, intense, realistic bullying. Most people get pure MAD at that route.
If you don't go down that route, the main girl from it ends up committing suicide.
Hudson Price
YMK literally used to be THE baby's first VN, before Katawa Shoujo took that title.
I'm surprised so many fuckers here don't remember that.
Austin Cook
I can understand where he's coming from. It's gap moe, and the unrealistic but attractive concept of purifying a bad girl by dicking her.
Juan Powell
The one that got away eng trans FUCKING NEVER
Blake Torres
>100% pure At that point she's like 20% semen, my dude. Not to mention she knew the MC's father.
Jaxson Jenkins
Research your goddamn title before getting it, just like what you do before getting any game before. Otherwise, prepare for some unpleasant surprises, especially utsuge/nakige/anything from KEY. There are some drama-less VN out there.
Brayden Martin
No but now I'm interested in just what VN you're talking about.
Connor Edwards
Are you sure you aren't stupid? Like can you read? I had only played 2 VN's prior to that, and they had no drama. I just saw that people said to play it. It was a fucking mistake.
Cross Channel is a completely different style of story with totally unlikeable characters, I would recommend against it if you're looking for something similar to YMK.
Read something like Crescendo and Symphonic Rain instead.
Lincoln Lewis
Yeah. I didn't think to back then. I do now. Like I said. I was a beginner. I literally clicked on a j-list ad and explored the site and got My GF is President.
He's a major writer for WillPlus, which is a pretty decently sized VN conglomerate. I believe he also helped write Ayakashibito, which is a surprisingly good VN, despite its looks. Definitely gave me a lot of "muh feels" moments, especially when Russianbro dies protecting you.
The guy known for YMK helps most of the companies owned by Will(Plus) write, so if you're reading some of their VN's, you're likely reading his work.
There is hope, you just gotta believe.
Caleb Ross
Hey, don't be sad, there's still hope. Aiyoku no Eustia and Irotoridori no Sekai got revived after Yander Translations died.
Popotan is shit, though. Go back to /f/ you mongoloid
Brandon Carter
Are you implying that it was a reasonable expectation to believe every VN that exists is the same tone and genre as the first two you happened to play? That's like reading Lord of the Flies and just assuming every other book anyone's ever written is an allegory about base human nature.
Jace Watson
>can you read? Yeah I can, but apparently you can't since you decided to play a game without even reading about it. You're the fucking idiot here. It's not my fault you can't Google. Typical Sup Forums calling things they personally don't like bad.
Andrew Green
>those screencaps
Benjamin Moore
Is it bad that I've only heard of this VN because Haimura is the artist?
Camden Wood
Nothing is totally drama-less. I mean, My GF is president did have drama as well, but what story doesn't?
Angel Hernandez
No, that's perfectly fine. There were like 4 people who worked on it in total, and it was almost entirely written by one guy, who, to be fair, is also a good reason to know about this game.
John Gray
...
Robert Foster
Was meant to heh...shit
Josiah Cooper
You fucked up
Carter Martin
Some people just don't like serious things, I guess. VN's have their foundation in drama, since there would be no conflict otherwise. The only exceptions are ones where there is an external enemy, like Kamidori Alchemy Meister, Monster Girl Quest, or Koihime Musou
John Scott
There's a difference between not liking serious things and trashing anything serious because you don't like serious things.
Carter Phillips
>Like's only comedy VN's >Is surprised when said person is childish s my damn h
Alexander Long
Basically this Antoinette was fucked up, but all of her problems could've been fixed with copious amounts of MC dick, so in my ideal route you'd essentially solve the issue of Aeka being bullied from the other side - by healing Antoinette and showing her how to make nice, she rejects her slenderman patsy, and you, Antoinette and Aeka live as friends happily ever after. Failing that the game was really missing an option for you and Aeka to double-dom her
Nicholas Ortiz
No, but I thought I was just getting more of the same. I had played only fucking TWO VN's before YMK. I knew nothing about them except that the Clannad anime was based of a VN. It had drama, but was mostly humor and slice of life. I didn't expect all this fucking over the top drama.
So to sum it up, I didn't even think about there being different genre's. If I had grown up only reading and knowing about gag manga and then was handed some shojo shit I'd have the same reaction.
>calling things they personally don't like bad If it was IMO bad, then it is fucking bad, IMO. And you really think some fucker who was new Sup Forums at the time would think to google this this. It was 2011 or 12 when I played this shit.
And yeah, I hate drama. But there is good drama, and this wasn't it. The bullied girl shit was decent, but the other two were fucking trash. It just felt so damn over the top, like a sucking soap opera. And you want to know how I know it is basically soap opera shit? I spent 18 years watching General Hospital during dinner.
But feel free say how wrong I am. I am not gonna respond. I'm going to go play Persona 5 and get mad at Ruyji cuz "shitty adults" when he is just as shitty himself.
Ethan Robinson
Quit making excuses and accept you're stupid. You're not going to convince anyone that the game is bad because of your personal preferences. Especially when it's your fault you played it, you didn't get tricked. It IS a soap opera. That's the whole fucking point. You read a soap opera and are complaining about soap operas.
