Had no plans to buy a switch...

Had no plans to buy a switch, but after seeing breath of the wild and learning that my eshop games are now linked to my account and can be redownloaded, I'm considering the purchase.

Knowing how all console scrubs work. I'm sure Nintendo will release an updated Switch in the future, plus more games at that point.

Is it worth getting now with all the supposed issues and bare game library or should I just wait until they eventually release an upgraded version?

Any Switch owners who can vouch for the hybrid?

>not buying a used switch with the game now people are finished with botw
>not emulating
>not buying a used wii u for 100$

Just buy a preowned wii u instead and mod it so you have access to its entire library including BotW.

Switch is too overpriced for not enough games

Not fond of WiiU and I dont like buying preowned consoles, love that new car smell so to speak.

Emulating, I would on Pc but I hear they havent finished putting it up yet.

Thanks for the input though, much obliged.

Like I said to other user Im not fond if wiiU but if what others are saying about hacking I may consider it, only reason Im hesitant is I do want the switch for any new games nintendo releases. Dont want to buy a console that is sadly dead now.

Again thanks for input.

Well don't be a little bitch and start shit threads on Sup Forums then faggot

Don't do it user you know you will have immediate buyers remorse.

Oh my

My apologies, just figured Sup Forumsbros would all have a switch and be able to give a solid review of it.

Dont trust paid shills and none of my friends or family own one yet.

Solid reply even if it didn't add much to the discussion :^)

No doubt which is why Im glad that stock is so limited right now.

Watching jaboody play bow though does not help.

I just keep trying to think of when I bought my PS4 and regretted not waiting for pro even if I don't have a 4K. Only reason I don't have full on buyers remorse for it is the fact that ps plus has given out some solid indie games, that and I have been having fun with it.

Thanks user for the warning, still hoping for some user to have a positive vibe for the switcher.

Buy it when MK8 or Splatoon 2 comes out so you have something to play.

As a rule of thumb for consoles I always wait for a game I really want to fucking play. If I can't get the game on a different console then I wait for some sort of deal or sale.

Haha fuck off kid

Black friday may be best time to bit the bullet then, thanks user solid advice.

Why so angry user, I only wish to be your friend.

Not a big fan of Mario since gameboy and n64 and splatoon seemed so so to me.

Though I get your point. Having only bow will eventually burn out and eshop games only go so far.

Though if eshop released metroid advance games, that would be cool, or at least another new Ip.

This pretty much unless you want to play the good eShop game of the week or are okay with downloading some games from the Japanese eShop that are already translated.

I'm enjoying my Switch, but I can understand not everyone has a broad taste for games and may get upset if an exact type of game isn't available yet.

Has your switch had any of the major issues or were those just isloated cases that people cried about cus "haha fuck nintendo."

Also how is it in handheld mode? The buttons just look so uncomfortable and seems hard to play combat games. What about the charging port being on the bottem, is it a huge annoyance or something that can be easily overlooked?

if you dont like mario and arent bothered with stuff like splatoon or arms i really don't see the point in you wanting to buy one, if you just want an indie machine the vita has all that in spades.
nintendo is for nintendo, which is mostly mario titles and the occasional mainline zelda every 6 years.

Yeah, but nintendo has been boasting about how they are going to have more 3rd party support, so this is why Im considering it.

Plus I do love nintendo games and its jot has if i hate mario, Its just the same shit every time.

Now if they made a browser game, Id eat that shit up.

inl would disagree that mario is the same every time, people just get tired of the name but there is always some new twist on the gameplay, never been a 2d mario fan myself though.

in that case id say wait until e3 and see if they bring the big guns.

The hybrid function is phenomenal, and as someone who has fit in at least a little Switch play per day, the novelty is yet to get even close to fading. The battery isn't even a problem either, despite the shitposting against it. In fact, if you get the right cord for it, you'll never have to use the dock that allegedly has bad heating issues, effectively making the Switch a permanent ultra-powered handheld if you feel the need. You won't even have to worry about the controller battery because you just charge the Switch with them attached, and you don't even need the attachments so those are a non-issue as well.

I'm called a retard and a shill, but I will gladly vouch for this game if you have a long-gameplan for what you'll be getting on it.

I've had no issues with my Switch at all. I'm pretty sure those are all isolated cases except possibly the left joycon connectivity, and even then Nintendo has top notch customer service and has been fixing them for free and within a few days. In any case, I would reccomend buying a glass screen protector just because it does have a plastic screen. The amfilm ones on Amazon are cheap and work perfectly.

Handheld mode is fine. The buttons are pretty much the same as a 3DS and it's much more comfortable to use the shoulder buttons with the additional curve on back from the trigger buttons. With the joycons on, it weights about as much as a 3DS XL. The screen looks great and the speakers give good sound. The headphone jack doesn't give particularly strong sound, but that might have been an issue with Zelda as that game is much quieter than any of the other games I've played on it. Most games sounded fine for me at about half volume, but Zelda made me turn it all the way up. The only time I've heard the fan at all is while playing Zelda in handheld mode and in very quiet areas. Even then it's barely audible. The battery has been generally good. With max brightness and wifi on, Zelda lasts abut 2.5 to 3 hours as promised. Other games have lasted about 5 hours again with max brightness and wifi on.

As for the charging port on bottom, I don't really find it to be an issue as I don't use tabletop mode much, but I did buy the Hori stand (pic related) so I could have more viewing angle options for table top mode. The stand has an open space on the bottom for accessing the charging port. I think I should also mention that the only time the Switch feels hot is after playing it docked with a game like Zelda while it is actively trying to charge from like 50% or less. At that point it feels like a smart phone after using it heavily. If it's not charging, it just feels warm after playing Zelda in the dock.

Its probably my own bias no doubt.

Honestly i cant really talk shit since i never did play them only seen others or that rare family game night.

I will most likely wait for e3 and or black friday, u anons helped talk me of the ledge.

Honest opinion and you're not getting paid for it, anons who call you shill have a fetish for that buzzword.
I will admit my only plan as of now is bow and eshop games, I'm holding out hope for new Ip and 3rd party support.
Also as mentioned before new Metroid or even Browser game would also be noice.
Think theyd even make a pokemon game for it?
Good reply thank you user.

Thank you user, that stand is beautiful and if I get switch that will be on my shopping list as well as the glass screens. Detailed points mentioned which I appreciate. Only sad thing is I see myself playing bow more docked on my big screen. Is it safe to assume that Nintendo could possibly fix the overheat issues with dock? From how you speak it doesn't seem to be a big issue and I'm sure it never overheats to the point of force close, but it is a bit disconcerting.

Same user as first quote; there's a Pokemon for the Switch currently planned, but that's all we know.
Overheating as an issue seems to be nonexistent for me after I put the dock on it's side, letting the hot air go outward instead of trying to push it up. I don't know if it works, but it certainly feels like it does.

I'm not really sure there is much they can do about the heat. Pretty much every electroinc produces heats while charging and more so if it's being used at the same time. The dock itself really isn't the issue with the heat. However, if you want to improve the air flow, just leave the side where the HDMI cable goes in open. It has a hole in there for the air intake on the Switch. Air still goes in there when it's closed through a gap on top of that cable compartment door though.

Hah sorry about that user and wow did not know about the pokemon.

I will most likely wait for, sales, e3, or that pokemom game. Still will be hard to resist because bow just looks so fun.

I wouldnt know if putting it on the side works, but if your not having much issue with overheating I'd say you're doing something right.

you definitely made me want the switch more, but I will hold out for a bit longer.

Off topic of thread, but do you think that the next zelda game will be a direct continuation of bow. Possibly with Link becoming king and prude Zelda finally putting out? The fact that 100 years have passed and no doubt they will want to rebuild Hyrule, seems like it could be a good story for next game.

Im also a fag who just wants to play as a badass link who is king, possibly an old aged link who still somehow can kick ass despite being a geriatric.

I'd like to play a King Link too. I've been low-key wanting it since WW first came out.
No confirmation but I heard that Nintendo's potential plan for the next Zelda is at the very least to be inspired by what BotW has established, which makes me excited because I love this game to death. I most certainly recommend it with flying colors when you do get the Switch. A boundless willingness to explore and discover is the greatest way to enhance the experience; You can't play BotW like older Zeldas, it's a far bigger beast.

No doubt, just watching a few streams and videos does not do it justice.
Can't wait till I do get switch and can finally play.

I also hear that it will have dlc which is nice since by the time I get the switch I wont habe to wait for it to drop.

And yes a king limk woukd be so fun. Thinking of all the possible storylines and quests nintendo could do makes me wish they really would do it in next game.

Imagine being able to explore other kingdoms since your king and having the choice of being peaceful or just come in with a hostile takeover. That is probably less likely since link is hero of time, but whos to say that those fuckers didnt start it.

Give it a few months so the Switch will have more games available.

CEMU runs like shit dude

Vita's old with a shit screen and you still have to get cucked by Sony for more memory
