Incidentally deleted my skyrim folder accidently with all my work in it about two or three months ago and now I'm mad because I wish I had backed it up somewhere else. Granted my body mesh is still saved on LL and it wouldn't be too hard to recreate the character so I guess theirs a bright side

Well, it takes a day or so of finding mods and a few hours of making sure everything works together before you start your legit character. I think it's worth it if you install some kind of overhaul like Requiem which makes the combat actually dangerous. I understand it's not worth the trouble for some people though, but personally I find modding really satisfying when you finally get it working just the way you like it.

I honestly don't see the appeal in even modding skyrim for any purpose besides creating an interesting character for story/roleplaying/waifuing purposes. The game was great years ago and I'm sure a legit run through atm would be cool but the game isn't a legit masterpiece 10/10 that has game mechanics that would bring me back if only they were slightly altered by mods.

That's fine. I like the challenge requiem offers, dying in a single power attack or so makes it more fun since you cant play braindead. Also with some LL mods the increased lethality leads to some rapey situations. I am a degenerate so I did 100% quest completion last year or so. Jesus christ Oblivion quests were so much better.

Meh, I tried requiem once and it's definitely an improvement but in the end it wasn't enough to keep me playing. I know it's supposed to be hardcore and realistic but everyone die too fast.
Personally I think a game can make everyone die in a realistic amount of hits/time without having a common bandit being able to one shot you.

You only instadied to 2h powerattacks you didn't block if you wore no armor generally speaking. By the end I could take 4-5 hits pretty easily even on my mage, you really do feel like you grow in power over the course of the game instead of shit level scaling with you, and I really love that. But yeah it's not for everyone.
