What went wrong?

What went wrong?

It went wrong after they dropped turn based gameplay over a decade ago, in my opinion.

They released it

>Kingdom Hearts 3 will share the same fate

made a high end engine and then decided to release it on low end hardware

So much padding with the problem being magnified because some retard thought it'd be a good idea to only be able to accept one hunt at a time. It's just boring desu.

Action rpgs have the stupiest combat ever

more like they made a high end engine and decided to use it for an open world game that the developers told Tabata was not appropriate for but he went with it anyway due to time constraints

Cut down content, car on rails, the whole game got remade, hardware limits etc.

the combat is pretty boring

Butthurt PCfags who will still buy the PC version when it drops?

took too long to make
but still better than 13.

its ok

What the fuck's your issue? Criticising your favorite video game doesn't necessarily make people platform elitist shitposters, who clearly haven't played the game if because they think it has flaws. Go take your console war faggotry to someplace else, BLOODBORNE NEVER EVER BTW SONY ALWAYS WINS BABY, is this kind of posting more to your liking?.

But yes, the pc footage looks very impressive and I would have no issue in purchasing the game again to play at a higher visual fidelity. That is, IF a port is ever released, which is not a given.

>muh visual fidelity

Stick to watching movies on blu ray then, you videogame hater

I don't get how people cried at the end. And this is coming from a dude that cried at the end of Brothers: A Tale of Two.

Really bad writing and this (). The moment they started taking feedback from surveys, you just knew that they had no idea what the fuck they were doing.

>pointing out flaws of a video game in a thread literally about WHAT WENT WRONG WITH SAID GAME makes you videogame hater
You have some serious issues

Also if you've played the game before, visual fidelity is the only fucking thing a potential pc port would have over the original console versions, unless you've sold your fucking console or want to keep your games on a single system or whatever, but I guess you didn't even bother considering that before shitposting.

The biggest flaw is probably the story. It goes nowhere for the entire time, shoe-horns character development at the last second, and was just felt like it wasn't actually there. The gameplay is alright for what it is, but it has a huge map. A huge map with almost nothing inside of it. I can't believe Lucis is a actual modern country when it only has one city.

I think I could've forgiven almost everything else if there was a good story and good characters. As it is, I stopped playing in Chapter 9 and I feel like it's been a massive waste of time where basically nothing happened.

Going into the reactor to kill stuff was a big "why am I doing this?" moment for me.

Literally everything about this game is shit. Can we not "discuss" this game anymore?

Homo

Change of vision constantly, that always ends up in a mess.

Bad quests

They kinda ommitted the story and promised to fix it later. I don't really know how to feel about that. I mean good on Square for vowing to fix shit but I mean c'mon. This is the second time Square's had to stop and fix a mainline Final Fantasy.

Most of it, especially after they bagin to basicly built their game on feedback and change shit including the combat system less than a year before release. I had more fun with Episode Duscae than i did with the full game

nothing
its good

>number of ip's didn't go up with this post
hmmmm

>nothing
Cmon, even the biggest fanboys have to admit that some things went wrong

>Cmon, even the biggest fanboys have to admit that some things went wrong

Do you know who XV kun is user? At this point I'm pretty sure that 60% of posts in XV threads are him talking to himself. I pretty sure every post that isn't shitting on the game is him, because honestly this game is so bad there is nothing to praise.

It was stuck in development hell for 7 years.

Visual fidelity and, most important of all, framerate. I'm not the poster you replied to btw, I actually loved the game as much as I hated it.

Oh, you're absolutely right about framerate, I entirely forgot that in my frustration.

Yeah, but i doubt it's him otherwise he would've already attacked everyone. FUnny thing is he always says he mentions flaws but i never saw him do it. He basicly always says "i mentioned flaws 423 threads ago your fault for not checking my random post on Sup Forums"
That said the music and monster designs were fine for the most part. I feel bad for the development team that had to keep up with Tabatas feedback sheet

The thousand years it spent in development hell

I miss Duscae

boring generic story. you have an incredibly realistic world but the dialogue and story of a snes game. the game is literally driving from point a to point b to save the world. nothing exciting or dramatic or mysterious about any of it.

Who the fuck is there market anymore? Action fags dont pant so play some androgynous faggot. The story is shit so RPG fags wont like it, and and the combat is just button mashing to startigyfags will also avoid this.

Everything.

I'd go into more detail but I don't want to spend an hour writing examples of it all.

They finally discovered the "too much weeaboo" threshold

You don't even have to mash. You can hold down square an win. It is the dumbest combat system ever.

not much, game was fun and cute and worth the $60 I paid for it

the combat probably could have been better, but I'm not really sure what I would change exactly.

Nomura dick riders are stuck in the past and can't come to terms with reality that Stella was shit and so was FF13vs.

Don't visit these threads in the future then, your enjoyment will only decrease the more you see people highlighting it's flaws. Trust me.

My leviathan fight glitched and wouldn't go past the first part of the fight with the point warping. I was so pissed that I sold it.

we highlighted all the flaws and it was obvious to any player.

However, I still put it in my top 2 for 2016 lmao

they tried to merge two very different games together, and failed miserably, ruining huge potential of both games.

tabatas western boner

>Ardyn, ifrit, and the starscourge wasn't explained well enough in-game
>novus wasn't explained well at all either (haven't done the verse 2 DLC yet and saw he was in some cutscenes?)
>they got to chapter 9 and realized they still had to go through 80% of the plot so they stuffed it in from 9 to 14
>could have had situations like in FF6 where you get to experience what characters are doing at the same time while separated, instead we get DLC
>combat was just okay
>majority of sidequests are mmo-style of "go here, kill this" or "go here, find this" which is fatiguing
>not entirely sure what the point of raising hunter rank even is when it's not required to do adamantoise

9 > 7 > 6 > 12 > 5 > 4 > 10 > 1 > 8 > 15 > 3 > 13 > 2

Not him, but what wrong with that game was way more than visual. The entire thing is a rushed mess after Luna dies. I knew something was up when as soon as you got off that train the entrance to the next dungeon was right fucking there at the train stop. No more towns or exploring anymore.
