P5 is trash. Almost every scene is presented with the same static camera angle, the dialogue is uninteresting and not tonally consistent, every coop story ends up feeling like the same shit since they're almost all solved in the same way, the villains are ridiculously cartoonish and generic, they overexplain the scheme the protagonist used to evade Akechi's attempt to murder him despite it being retarded, and Ryuuji is is an incredibly bad character whose only purpose in the narrative is to spark up conflict when the writers can't think of any better way.

Berseria is the best JRPG of recent years.

Vesperia world map was fine, great even. The bland fields with reused assets shit didn't start until Xillia because the team was scaled down significantly for financial reasons and they insisted on trying to become more 'modern'.

Berseria is almost Integrity and Faithlessness tier.

P5 is great all around and easily the best, Berseria is a step in the right direction for the series and has one of the better stories in the series but still has shitty level design and the combat is lacking this time, didn't play XV

Only reason I would see putting Berseria over P5 is if you want something with a vibe closer to more traditional PS1/PS2 era JRPGs

P5 had really bad writing that brings down the whole experience significantly because so much time is spent in cutscenes.

Visually sure, it was an early 3D action RPG that prioritized content and performance over pretty graphics, but it was well structured and explorable with the player often having the option to do dungeons/bosses out of sequence.

Not exactly. Atleast they acknowledge that the revenge is futile and pointless, but still goes on with it anyway. Your typical anime revenge plot usually has some flimsy justification along the way and some bad characterization as well. To be fair in most Tales of games, the plot is irrelevant because its either some Technology is bad Aesop or some story about fantastic racism. Tales is all about stylish combat, character interaction and content.

Fuck no. You guys are only rating Berseria so high because you're waifufagging Velvet. Its reaching Vesperia levels of wank except Vesperia actually had other stuff going for it regardless of the MC.

It was a step in the right direction after Zestiria but still had a lot if the same dumb shit like bland dungeon designs, an uninteresting over world, and a terrible way of handling equipment. Combat was good when it flowed right but could instantly become shitty due to have the SG worked. Break Souls were a nice idea in concept but executed in a way that made battles incredibly easy once you figured out how to abuse them.

The story is somewhat better than usual for the series but still nothing that great. People go on about how the cast doesn't care and how they're bad guys even though most of the stuff they do ends up being for good anyway. The only objectively innocent person they kill is Shigure because Rokurou is a psycho who wanted to git gud.
