Its called xbox one controller

Return it for the xbox one controller, bro.

Should have gone with the Xbone pad

DS4Windows

Gone fucked up, OP.

Look into DS4Windows. Enjoy senpai.

Pretty sure win7 recognizes a DS4 instantly, at least mine old laptop did.

Get the xbone controller you retard.

Ds4windows works good. It even lets you change the colors.

DS4windows. Nothing else.

>What's best program for this controller on win7?
It works out of the box except in games, which don't support non-Microsoft controllers.
Steam has support for this built in, too.

>Get the Xbox controller
>doesn't realize it installs xboxstat.exe which takes up around 10% of cpu load on average and doesn't do anything.

>win7
>xbone controller
Nice try, Pajeet

But it doesn't? At least not on win 7.

It works great on Win7, the same as my old wired 360 one. WTF are you on about?

>It works out of the box except in games
Windows Live games you must mean, I plugged and played just fine with anything I booted on, from indie shit to triple AAA trash.

Steam controller interface.

My ds4 controller just suddenly stopped working on PC. When I plug it in it lights up orange but won't change off of that color no matter what I do

Sounds like your drivers are fucked. Reinstall them to fix.

This, I use it for nearly everything. Playing Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army with it right now in same position as doge.

DS4Windows 100%, once installed correctly Windows just sees it as a 360 controller and everything just works.

It might take some fucking around to keep it installed after a restart, at least on my windows 10 this happened and I had to force install the driver. Just install it normally and on Windows 7 it should work out of the box. Remember to map START and OPTIONS on the left and right touchpad buttons as well, way more convenient.

The one that lets to exchange it for an xbone controller.

The ONLY reason to get an xbone controller over DS4 is if you like the layout better, so it's strictly subjective.
t. have DS4 and xbone elite.

Are gyro controls jittery for you? I want to use it for aiming in some games but it locks to angles and doesn't take small movements. There are barely any settings for it in DS4Windows and sensitivity did nothing for me.

The only people who like the DS have literal child hands or are Sony fan boys. Xbox or wiiu pro are the only controls worth owning.

>I own both
So you must know of all people that the xbone controller is superior.

>The only people who like the DS have literal child hands or are Sony fan boys.
I like both xbone and DS4 and only difference is stick layout. 3 extra buttons on DS4 is nice too. I owned a DS4 for at least a year before I got a PS4.

>wiiu pro
Every single piece of hardware by Nintendo since GBASP/GCN feels cheap (same level as DS3). Piano black plastic is ass on something you hold in your hands. Digital triggers are subjectively bad. All buttons are mushy unlike DS4 and xbone.

It's superior to people who prefer the stick/button layout, that's the only big decider. It also feels a little more ergonomic, but someone who hasn't tested either would need to try both and decide for themselves.
Over xbone, DS4 has
>built in battery (separate purchase for elite controller at least)
>3 more buttons
>gyro
>touchpad
Last two aren't that big for most people.

>The only people who like the DS have literal child hands
DS4 is the largest controller available, Basketball American

ez mode is to use Steam. It is missing some functions like a battery-level indicator.

>Xbone needs a dongle

The DS4 is larger than the xbone controller though

This. I'm 6'3 with man hands and prefer Dual Shock design. Xbone (I just held mine for a moment to be sure) doesn't feel bad, too heavy maybe, but dpad placement is bad. BAD.

DS4windows

The DS4 feels like cheap plastic, it's triggers are fucking disgusting and the buttons are raised on an annoying platform so you can't claw grip

I hate it

Also, you can only configure the controller in Big picture mode. I still prefer it over DS4windows because it's not as fiddly when detecting the controller. Hopefully they add some way to tell the battery level.

Yeah, fuck that. Steam PS4 support sucks, any game that has native support for ps4 controllers already will double the inputs when you enable the controller through Steam, so pressing up or down skips two options, literally every button you press doubles. Just fucking download DS4Windows and you don't even have to dick around in Steam big picture mode with controller settings.

DS4Windows

Some games however may support the controller out of the box

You can use Xbone controllers wired
