I wasn't particularly fond of it. Everything rested on the combat but it was too flawed to carry the rest of the game.

it sucks

Play it once a year myself

Leanne is the closest thing to love I'll ever know

Never finished it but got pretty far. Loved the slice of life style story. Think I burned myself out because I was trying to 100% the colosseum.

Haven't finished it and I don't own any consoles anymore. Sega should just port this to the PC; it's fairly old now so performance shouldn't be much of an issue.

Leanne is pretty top tier waifu. As for the gameplay, it can be a little repetitive and grindy but downing bosses is very satisfying. To me anyway

You should be able to use escape hex from bosses though, or restart with no penalty.

>7 years old
Literally how. Also fuck Sega for releasing it the same month, it may have even been the same day, as FF13
>duuurrr what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!
It may not have been goty, but we desperately need new IPs

Guns being the only gear and clothes being totally cosmetic was based

Why is it that this game from 2010 had literally hundreds of outfits that showed up during cut scenes but ff15 a game from 2016 has like 2 per character?
They really dropped the ball in that game by not including a clothing shop

Out of those hundreds most were re colours or t shirts with different emblems. But I agree that ff15 could've had some more outfit options because while it's true earlier ff's didn't, it's mostly a standard of today.

I liked the dub.

Me too

...

it was pretty good.
disliked it that leanne only had a dress

What made me a little upset was that you couldn't have her fight in her piggy pajama shirt and shorts.

I FUCKING love it
I still didn't finish it because my frankengun setup wasn't optimal at one point and I had to find some parts
I'm not gonna finish it until TriAce makes good RPGs again.

Wasn't the dress like the most expensive piece in the game? Expensive panty shots

Best last gen jrpg. It's not perfect but it felt really fresh. Interesting setting, unique and stylish combat, dat gun customization. If they added more dialogs, story and better quests it could've been top tier game easily. I still enjoyed every second of it.

Great game. Playing through it right now for the first time. I'm on chapter 5 currently. This is such a good jrpg.

>Best last gen jrpg
ff13-2 is better.

PC port definitive version NOW

Pretty neat game. Never finished it primarily because of the difficulty combined with increasing disinterest with the fighting mechanics (arrange characters, tri-attack, repeat)

Lost Oddisey and Xenoblade were better.

RoF is pretty good, 13-2 is shit

My only experience with this is Project X Zone

Ok lets talk.
How come tri-Ace is incapable of hiring decent writers?

classic game.

vashyron, zephyr and leanne are all excellent names

yep

In all this game would have fantastic and a massive favorite if it was less repetitive and allowed for more characters. the story is really comfy but gets boring after 18 hours or so because you still have no clue what's going on.

They could have stressed the mercenary aspect of what you were doing to make it more exciting.

Still, better world building and art direction than Dark Souls, though.

If there was a sequel and I had the money I'd probably buy a PS4 just for this

The gun upgrading parts could get way too crazy, but the general idea and direction of the game was GREAT. Tri Ace really was something back then, instead of just making mobile games.

>Still, better world building and art direction than Dark Souls, though.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. The dungeons in rof were just connected square combat arenas with brown backgrounds.

>better world building and art direction than Dark Souls, though
That doesn't say much.

>I'm not gonna finish it until TriAce makes good RPGs again.

Weirdest boycott ever.

Yes the fighting was too slow and did not contain much variety. The scratch/direct damage did not add any depth, it just required you to have to kill every enemy twice. Then there were some really bad design choices like having to pick up items during the fight and the bezels shattering.

Still on my to-play list. Too many PS3 titles on backlog

I pumped in about 200 hours just for how goofy the game was to play. Great system. It's not often a game in this genre has any semblance of humor in it, so that was a nice surprise, too, but the transitions to serious segments were really fucking jarring.

It's great/10.

Playing it now just make me sad man.

I normally hate JPRPGs, but this looks awesome.

You'll be seeing the same thing for 30 hours just so you know.

I probably won't play it. Just happy to see actual vidya discussion. Contributing what I can.

13-2 is better than rof in pretty much every aspect though. The combat has more variety to it, story is better, visuals are much better, same goes for the soundtrack.

And yet it's a mediocre FF
I'd rather play something different

lmao

It's one of the last PS3 RPGs I still have to play.
Soon, my conquest will be done.

Leanne goes both ways, huh? Good to know.

Every fight plays out the same. Got very boring.
I numbed myself when i felt down with this game for a week solid, eating tubs and tubs of ice cream.
Did the job, would recommend if thats what youre looking for.
Final chapter felt forced, like we cant have a game thats just about regular old life! it has to be about saving the world! add another chapter on the end where they save the world or im cutting funding!

I liked the characters and the general premise, but combat got very stale after a while.

What do you mean?

So why did he shoot up the church? What was Sullivan's endgame?
What is the vampire girl?
The clothes are cool.

I guess you didnt play the game. Its one of the generic lines one of the characters says at the end of a battle.

It's one of the lines at the start of a fight
>do you want me on offense or defense
>ah Leanne goes both ways, good to know

This and Lost Odyssey were two games that to me are almost hilariously underrated. This one probably more so. It was such a unique and fun concept. Question though, what role, gameplay-wise, was leanne meant to fill? I had her as the item manager and also sometimes pistol user.

Went crazy from being experimented on.
To become free from the Basel system.
A descendent of the people who survived when the outside world became too poisonous to live in.

I wish difficulty setting weren't so stupid
>hey, you completed the game! now game is 1.1x times harder!
>hey, you completed game again! now game is 1.2x times harder!
>hey...
What the hell? Why should I finish game like ten times before getting actually challenging difficulties?

This has been on my backlog forever.
When I'm done with Persona 5, should i play this, Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon?

I think everyone had the same skills, they just got them at different rates. Plus mastering different weapons contributed to overall level. You should cycle who does what around so your party gets stronger more quickly.

Probably about the closest thing to a Cowboy Bebop game I've ever played, definitely the closest to capturing the spirit of it. I don't know whether that was intentional or not.

I personally really liked Blue Dragon. It could get a little generic at time but it had fun characters and a huge world to explore. Battle system was simple while still allowing for customization between characters though. And there was lots of extra stuff to do outside of the main story.

Only bad thing is that it ran like shit on 360. I heard that it runs fine on Xbone though.

Oh look its dante, leon and ashley

Literally played this yesterday for the first time, the combat system is flat out confusing, the tutorial is garbage, thank god we have the Internet.

Im in no position to comment on the quality of the game, although it took me two hours to fix that damn bridge

GUYS DON'T MAKE PASSES
AT GIRLS
WHO KICK ASSES

>Japanese humor
>it's actually funny
Story got weird towards the end. Kind of reminded me of The Last Remnant with its presence and over all presentation. And how no one remembers it.

I always thought he said "I only make passes at..."

>mfw barely beat it on the original setting
I suck i guess

>closest thing to cowboy bebop
I thought the same thing so it wasn't just you. Just an episodic, daily life, of bounty hunters story where shit goes down in the final moments

I bought it about 1 year ago for like 4€ and I have yet to play it.

Final one is like 5x damage 5x health. Shit's crazy.

You just need to grind a bunch.

I loved it. The grinding is really entertaining and I love the animu steam punk aesthetic

It's the definition of an underrated gem. one of the best games of that generation

I bought it the day I bought my PS3. It still sits on my shelf, unopened.

Leanne is cute.
Vashyron wants that sultry thiccness.
Zephyr's a cuck.

Your guns look retarded when properly customized.

Actually it's funny because it's western humor, but they got it spot on.

It's a good dress-up game.

>Tfw Tri-Ace recycled the whole weapon upgrade system in PSNOVA and also put in best girl
Shame I can't dress her up with the Lenneth costume tho.

Leanne is fucking cute no matter what game she's in

Is that game still getting updates?
Or is it dying/dead like PSO2

Combat never clicked with me. I understood it, but I never enjoyed it, not even close.

Also I dropped the game in the final dungeon. Thing was huge and I accidently got knocked back into a previous room near the end low on health, got locked in and couldn't do anything but die.

Wasn't clearing that whole thing over again.

Dead since two years or so.
How is PSO2 dying though? I left since a few years but afaik it was pretty active lately?
