>MC dies
>Game over
Why does this awful mechanic still exist?
>MC dies
>Game over
Why does this awful mechanic still exist?
Tradition
It does make the combat worse in every conceivable way though.
It depends if it fits the plot or not.
In Nocturne, by instance, it is acceptable because you are the single player so if you die, even if you have a demon that can resurrect you, all the demons will just be free from you.
In a Persona game with a full party of human allies, it is shit.
>MC dies
>in Persona game
lol fucking noob
It's not really that bad since any party member will take a KO for the leader later. Just don't put off hanging with your party members.
>Why does this awful mechanic still exist?
Because if it didn't you could just farm the shit out of rez items and if at least one party member has a null/absorb/repel on what the enemy's using you can't lose.
P5's conbat feels really dated compared to SMT4:A which was godlike in this regard
>Only people that can go into the metaverse can hear the cat talks
>one character hears the cat talk and mentions it without thinking
>nobody suspects it
Why is the cast of persona 5 so stupid?
literally braindead writing, typical anime bullshit
I'm going to guess the app is linked to you, thus if you die the link dies.
The others are running a copy of the mc program.
Get ready to be rused.
To be fair if you die as the MC then you deserve a game over because the MC has the most overpowered skill in the game, which is being able to fuse personas and switch them during combat. Think of it as the price for having such a ultimate ability.
MC is allergic to ressurection items
Because you have a plethora of Personas to keep you alive and switch between constantly.
>not maxing party s.links to die for you
Nothing of that will save you against RNG critical hits.
Thematically, it emphasizes how important a leader is to their team. Mechanically, it is a cheap and shitty way to create artificial difficulty.
Apocalypse technically has a better combat system, I'll agree to that. But I feel P5 makes up for it with good challenge. Apocalypse was way too fucking easy aside from a couple of bosses even on Hard Mode. Meanwhile P5's Hard Mode is the toughest SMT I've played since Nocturne.
Critical attacks are still based on elements which can be resisted or nullified. Every enemy in a dungeon has the same few movesets they always do, so it's your fault for not anticipating it and swapping personas before engaging a battle or during a battle.
why the fuck can't i take kawakami anywhere but my room
she even says we should go somewhere else, but i never get the option
>it's your fault if you don't memorize the weaknesses of all the personas you can have at any given time
>it's also your fault if you don't know whatever spells the enemy will cast on you
So follow a guide or fuck you? That sure sounds like fun.
If you need a guide to memorize Pokémon style weaknesses and attacks, you're dumber than a 8 year old.
You're way dumber than that, since you apparently couldn't even follow my post.
I advise you to keep playing.
Woah it's almost like the game wants you to learn as you play. Why is everyone so triggered by dying in this game? Dungeons are fucking littered with save points and you can auto retry mini boss/boss fights.
I don't need to follow anything you write when you can't handle Pokemon tier game mechanics.
Oh wow, a Nocturne FAGGOT talking down to people. Tell us about how great Raidou's cock is next, you fucking irritating cliche
In Persona 3 the game over is completely justified since the MC is holding an aspect of death inside of him.
In Persona 2 Maya and/or Tatsuya dying literally assfucks the world, so of course their deaths are insta gameover.
But MUH DEMI-FIEND'S DEMONS is the dumbest, most retarded argument ever. It's so edgy of the Nocturne mindset, "The demons would never revive muh demi-fiend because muh demi-fiend is an edgy overlord forcing everyone to work for him well except for Dante, Pixie, and any of the demons who willingly join up with him."
I love triggering personafags
Where was he talking down on people in his post?
I enjoy it. Pretty neat playing a turn based jrpg that kicks my ass frequently. I haven't dealt with this shit since ps2 era
The fight restarts, the week back, the begin infiltration and frequent safe rooms make it very bearable
Oh boi, im doing it fine right now, even i got some personas for free
>Fucking angel self destructs
Dude, im almost reaching to the next point.
>AOE Rage and a PSY attack later, another game over
Maybe i should play this in baby mode.
It gives you the option when you call her on the pay phone.
This was one of the many stupid things about FF 13. Especially late game where some random encounter enemies could just cast Death on Lightning as soon as the battle started and insta game over you.
>RTS
>MC must survive
>some other guy must survive
>some other guy dies
>lose mission
WTF?!
>Lose game
>Game over
Why does this awful mechanic still exist?
Just beat sphinx boss on hard.
What level are you supposed to be at? I was getting trashed, that fucking despair was always hitting at the wrong time.
