>it isn't their personal 40k magnum opus so everyone hates it
This needs to stop.
People dislike it because it's really fucking bad
See you in two months for the "What went wrong?" threads
It's a fucking mobile/console game first and PC game second
Gee I wonder why people are fucking upset
Source?
Your eyeballs?
Gameplay videos are out dude go watch them. What other source do you want other than the game itself.
>[Citation needed]
I'll see you guys in two months for the "What went right?" threads, just like Doom had.
Fuck neo-Sup Forums
Why do people need to lie on the internet?
afaik it's a mouse-driven PC game. If you have any new information you're welcome to share it.
If you're making shit up, please fuck off. Thanks.
What game
DoW3
Wait... that fucking woman whit that stupid dyke haircut?
it's literally written on the pic
she's Lady Solaria, the pilot of the Knight (the mech you see on the pic).
No, there's nothing wrong with that, it's okay with the fluff. Knights aren't Space Marines. She just happen to work with them.
Oh jesus, the looks like shit. And up close, god dam.
>It's a fucking mobile/console game first and PC game second
This is a good thing, though.
There hasn't been a remarkable PC exclusive that couldn't run on a calculator for at least a decade.
This is some mental gymnastics
Don´t mean to defend the game but before you flip out, it´s normal for leaders of knight families to be female
Why'd they ditch Gabe's prosthetic eye for a melty closed wound?
>Orkz sound shitty
Voice acting, specifically for CSM, Ork and Space marines is what makes a DoW game so that disappoints me
I know its going to suck, I don't like what they have done with it.
But I already pre-ordered it, because Macha is in it
>Mon-keigh features
Yeah it's not like official art has ever depicted Eldar that way.
Real players play the wargame and paint their figs.
Sill more alien than Macha-chan.
why do people that don't understand rts try to make rts games? it's like they just WANT to flop their big games and then blame the genre
How could you fuck up such a loved game so bad?
It's like their main objectives were to remove what everybody loved and turn it into another moba/rts clone.
But with human features (which is what you're complaining about). Eldar haven't had a 'canon' appearance for a long time, it seems to change depending on who's doing the art at the time.
Maybe next time don't rely on deviantart for your sources.
>literally 'it's bad' with 0 argument
nice try Blizzard shills but I wouldn't buy your shitty remaster anyway
sorry i'm not as retarded as incontrol, don't want to waste my time playing inferior rts when i can just play bw and fap to kpop
>Want an RTS that captures the epic scale and variety of the WH40k universe
>Keep getting quasi-MOBAs
I'm not asking for perfection. I'm asking for DoW1 with better graphics, all the major factions present at launch, and maybe some more unit variety and customization options.
It's not exactly rocket science.
not to derail here but blizzard shills hate the remamster because theyre bad at bw and want "interface improvments" that would break the game and bw players hate blizzard because they tried to kill the game even though s. korea hated the sequel
Someone asked about Drop Pods.
Drop Pods are downright vital for Space Marines, and the one thing keeping them viable. It's too bad, though, that it's locked in the Tech Tree, when it should be available earlier on.
Drop Pods is what makes the Space Marines fun to play with, and against.
>all the major factions present at launch
>It's not exactly rocket science.
Yes it is. Or at least it cost roughly as much (unless you make them identic factions with just the skin varying of course)
>deviantart
If you were trying to get an art dump, you've got it.
>locked in the Tech Tree
what? You can use one drop-pod right from the beginning, and one more each tier
>all the major factions present at launch,
Why? So it's like any other 40K game?
Instead, how about making a 40K game with:
>Imperial Guard.
>Tyranids.
>Sisters of Battle.
>Necrons.
>Tau.
>Dark Eldar.
>Daemons of Chaos.
>Daemonkin of Khorne.
>Stormtroopers.
...
>Now that the dust has settled-
>30 minutes after release
...
>all the major factions present at launch
I agree that the three factions in 3 feel a bit sparse but there's no fucking way you're going to have all major factions in one rts game on launch
depending on what you define as major you could have like 9-11 distinct factions which as far as I know basically no major RTS title in the world has done, disregarding blatant reskins like in age of empires
dota shit. its like they looked at DoW2 and said " no we can do even worse"
>Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers not in the same army
>Daemons as an army, but Khornates as a separate army
I don't understand people who keep defending a game from it's detractors.
What's the point of liking the game? What do you get from standing around and defending it's honor with your every breath?
Don't you see it's a waste of time? Do you realize that every line of defense will end only with the other guys NOT playing the game anyways?
What do you get from it? Are you a fucking sheep that needs to derive fulfillment from a fucking video game? Are you really so empty that you need to feel better on your short-comings via a game?
Seriously.
You guys fucking disgust me, and you're everything that's wrong with nu-Sup Forums.
If you actually want to talk about this game, you should go somewhere else. Your kind aren't welcomed here.
Fuck you and fuck video games and fuck your artificial "fun."
additionally, 1.18 is full of bugs and unplayable compared to 1.16 atm. they also added hotkey rebinding for casuals
>uh wow excuse me you're not allowed to have opinions other than mine
great post you weeb fruit
I'd consider the major factions to be
>Imperial Guard
>Chaos
>Space Marines
>Eldar
>Orks
>Maybe Tyranids
Minor factions would be
>Tau
>Dark Eldar
>Sisters of Battle/Inquisition/Witch Hunters/whatever the fuck GW wants to call them these days
>Necrons
>Maybe Tyranids
>Squats
>Chaos Cults/daemons
I've seen a lot of people doing that shit lately (like pretending Mechanicus and Skitarii are completely different factions), and I'm pretty sure it's just idiots only looking at the codexes that have been released.
Its not bad, but the fact that its not very good might (greatly) disappoint RTS faithful whom looked to Relic of all people for the chosen one to deliver the genre from the grasps of Blizzard. Note that I am not trying to excuse this attitude, but rather explain it.
It take a pleb to like a game and move on.
It takes a gentleman to find it's flaws and exploit them until it's damn near unenjoyable.
>depending on what you define as major
Chaos (whatever form that takes) should always be in, as should the Imperium (same idea).
Beyond that it's fair game.
>dow1 fan
>hate everything 2 did
>3 gives me back all my giant armies and more
>have to deal with faggots like you just for being excited
It's not that hard to comprehend.
There is no source because he's full of shit. The game is PC-only.
Nice try cunt, but that lie was too obvious not to get called out. Try to be more subtle next time.
It doesn't matter, because bad press only makes it so the bar is set low.
If the game is any good, it will get a massive nod from those who expected the game to be shit and are actually enjoying themselves.
On the other hand, if the game gets super hyped, it's bound to not deliver.
>Squats
Goods taste.
Allusion. He's a cyclops now.
>Another Warhammer game with no Chaos on launch or Chaos DLC
FUCK OFF YOU JEWS
I don't understand people who keep trashing a game against its shills.
What's the point of disliking the game? What do you get from standing around and attacking its honor with your every breath?
Don't you see it's a waste of time? Do you realize that every attack you make will end only with the other guys playing the game anyways?
What do you get from it? Are you a fucking sheep that needs to derive fulfillment from other media than vidya? Are you really so empty that you need to feel better on your short-comings via shitposting?
Seriously.
You guys fucking disgust me, and you're everything that's wrong with Sup Forums since forever
If you actually want to talk about this game, you should go on reddit. Your kind aren't welcomed here.
Fuck you and fuck shitposting and fuck your artificial "bait."
>some fucker makes false claim about the game being mobile/console shit
>user points out that it's actually a PC exclusive
>this is apparently mental gymnastics
6 unique factions is still a lot to expect
the ideal would be 4 factions for the base price, then 2 more each expansion, since an expansion should cost like half the price of the original and contain about half the other content too
I was a bit disappointed with how dow2 just released 1 faction per expansion, because they always go down the list of most popular so a few factions always get neglected each new iteration of DoW, which is sad to see
>there will never be an adeptus arbites game
just end my life pham
>373553237
Why are you still here? You had like 16 posts repeating the same shit in the last thread.
Oh you haven't heard?
Games Workshop has been splitting the cool units into their own armies so they can extract more autismbux from their playerbase, codex money and all that.
You're confusing blizzdones with shills. Shills are paid to push an opinion. Drones do it for free out of blind fanboyism.

REEEEEEE TITANS AREN'T SPACE MARINES REEEEEEEEEE
I see you are using phrases and words from arguments that you were on the losing side of.
>the ideal would be 4 factions for the base price, then 2 more each expansion
That's exactly what the original DoW had. It launched with Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, and Chaos. The Imperial Guard was technically in the game too but they weren't playable.
The only difference is that the first expansion only added the IG. Every expansion after added two more factions. By the time the last expansion was released the only faction worth mentioning that wasn't in the game were the tyranids, and IIRC they said the only reason they weren't added was because of engine limitations.
He's a big marine.
Reminder not to fall for 'dawn of war.png' and other 'DC vs SS vs DoW2' bait
Fucking this. I don't want a shitty Moba, yet I keep getting them fucked into my face. Fuck off.
>DoW 1 releases with 4 factions, adds 5 more in 3 expansions
>DoW 2 releases with 4 factions, adds 2 more in 2 expansions
>DoW 2 releases with 3 factions
Trending less and less each time. Don't expect them to add a lot in future DLC/expansions. Relic has gotten fucking lazy.
Also
>those fucking faggots that refused to accept there were only 3 factions and started shitposting endlessly about a hidden 4th faction
>mfw they finally shut the fuck up
but dow was pretty shit competitively
why are you guys always scared of anything new?
Tyranids haven't been major since forever, so scrap them right next to the Sisters of Battle. This isn't Starcraft, anyhow.
As for the factions, I'd order them like so:
>Obligatory.
Space Marines.
Eldar.
Orks.
>DLC factions.
Imperial Guard.
Chaos Space Marines.
Daemons of Chaos (Yes, they're different enough in practice to be much different from the Chaos Space Marines. Just imagine the battlefield blowing apart in Eldritch energies, and in-come a hundred horrors from beyond reality. Think a more energetic/magical Chaos faction.)
Khorne Daemonkin. (So popular it gets it's own stand-out from the rest of the Chaos rabble, and it's what normies think about when they hear the words "Chaos".)
>Popular factions.
Necrons.
Tau.
Tyranids.
Grey Knights.
Specific Space Marine Chapters.
>Once every moon.
Sisters of Battle.
Dark Eldar.
>Never-Ever.
Lost and the Damned.
Adeptus Mechanicus.
Genestealer Cults
Squats.
Mandatory reading for anyone confused about what genre the game is in.

Also waiting for the bingo guy to post his image. See him in every thread.
Can anyone give me the quick rundown on DoW3?
I loved DoW but DoW II was such a disappointment that I don't want to spend money on it unless I'm sure about it.
I remember alot of flak about Chaos in that game being nothing more than spiky Marines. Very similar in function to SM and without any of the distinguishing flavor of certain gods (everyone was an angry Khornate).
>Competitively
Not everybody is Korean.
The game doesn't play like a MOBA at all. Fuck off with this shit already.
They didn't add all the factions they wanted to DoW2 partially because THQ went under. Relic had no money to support the game anymore.
>more is always better
no. ill take three well rounded balanced sides over dow1 clusterfuck any time.
what about dark crusade vs soulstorm steam chart guy
hes a cool dude
There are tons of videos on jewtube. Open Beta is next weekend.
dude the SP campaign is gonna be the same as usual. this thread is about multiplayer.
Tyranids are probably the greatest threat to the galaxy. I agree they're not major to the plot, though, more of an unstoppable force of nature.
Tyranids would be cool in DoW3 though because they could be so different to the other factions. They could use bodies to make biomass resource. Or have a floating Malanthrope as their research building. And build spore chimneys on resource points instead of listening posts, to pump tyranid spores and corrupt the area/debuff enemies.
Ya, that's a valid point.
>Chaos sorcerer invokes the name of Khorne
>Doesn't get instantly gibbed
>no tau
guess ill keep playing DOW instead
I still don't have any idea what that OOOH expression is actually trying to convey.
me as the human
Said it before and I'll say it again. Only compstompers hated dow2 and they don't matter.
>Nids
Already in last game though. Why not go for something we don't see all that often? Like Tzeentch or the Dark Eldar?
False dichotomy.
If you don't think the developer can handle balancing more than three factions, then they probably shouldn't be making a 40k game.
Don't worry I'm here already user t-thank you for noticing me senpai
try the open beta next week and watch videos on Youtube in the meantime. Basically, DoW3 is more like DoW1 than DoW2 but is still its own beast
Neck yourself, Tourney Redditor.
Open beta is actually on the 21st - 24th.
Here is some mp impressions: youtube.com
And a basic mp rundown:
youtube.com
And some campaign footage (light spoilers):
youtube.com
Basically it's an RTS with large armies, base building. Still has heroes. Still has the capture points resource mechanic. It now has giant super walkers.
>Ctrl + F "Blood Angel"
>0 Results
I guess you're right
>Already in last game though
So were Space Marines, Orks and Eldar.
Yep, that's why I chose it. DoW 1 had almost all of the factions, only really missing the nids and maybe the admech, and it feels like every DoW should try to reach total faction saturation.
balance can always be achieved later (and for cheap too, assuming you've got community enthusiasts to exploit), as long as the faction concepts are solid there's really no reason to not have tons of factions. And considering the expansions should be even easier to make than the base game despite being equal value for money you have the time to spend on them.
less good shit > more bad shit
it's that simple. go play that fun SoB expansion for dow1 if you absolutely must swim in garbage.
Know that a great campaign does not necessarily translate into a successful RTS game, no matter how many times you replay it.
Why is everyone calling it a Moba though?
True. But we never really see a game that focuses on something other than Orks being the initial threat, followed by nids, followed by CHAOS. Gets kind of old after three games of it.
any rts that isn't broodwar isn't "competitive" so who gives a fuck
>there's really no reason to not have tons of factions
relic does not have infinite time and money. SC does fine with 3 sides. i want quality over quantity.
Noone cares about your ELO fag.
