Little enemy variety

>little enemy variety
>4 dungeons, 15 minutes each
>shrines so easy a toddler could do them
>boring generic final boss thats too easy to kill
>towns with nothing in them
>koroks are just lifting rocks
>nothing interesting to find in the world
>side quests are just fetch quests

Remind me why everyone on Sup Forums loves this game to death???

You can fly on a log like dude it's just so epic xD

You don't understand game design, it's okay. Perhaps you should consider another hobby though?

Oh man I wonder how many Koroks you have if you think that's the only puzzle

But then again you don't even have the game

All of your statements are correct. But the game has redeeming qualities. Although it's not as well filled as it should be, exploration in the game can be quite satisfying at times. Add to that the more difficult early game, as well as the Sheikah Slate glyph/apps/whatever, and you at least have some fun stuff to play with before the excitement wears off. I think it would have been better with a slightly smaller world, a better tuned difficulty curve, and bringing back the classic heart piece system which gives you better rewards for quests. Also giving us more things to play with when it comes to the slate abilities.

its their first game

Shooting apples of a tree is a puzzle? Lifting a rock and putting it in a circle is fun for you?!

>goalpost moving
Still missing some more, good job user. Post your Korok count for us to admire

Nah some of them are objectively wrong

it's fun to discover a new world with a lot of charm and novelty, and most people don't play one single game until the charm and novelty wears off and they're left with an unchallenging and repetitive open-world experience

it sounds like you're approaching modern games wrong

>koroks are just lifting rocks
Wrong.
There are flower pattern koroks, baloon popping koroks, koroks hiding in holes and I probably missed a few other kinds.

6 weeks on and /v still makes 20 salty threads per day, desperately trying to tear BotW down.

/v will never recover. Ever.

Nah, when CEMU gets into 'really playable not just for trolling purposes' state many people will realize haw shallow the game is and how much repetitive 'content' there is.
It might not be visible for people who didn't play more than one open world game but it's really jarring if you did a dozen.

>Nah some of them are objectively wrong
The only one I actually disagree with which he said was the nothing interesting to find in the world bit. The empty towns one is debate-able, but I know I was underwhelmed by most towns.

>exploration in the game can be quite satisfying at times
You always know what you're going to find in the world, theres not much sense of wonder. Can you tell me why did you find it fun?

Did you honestly think collecting koroks was enjoyable for you?

I'm playing on cemu and it's the best open world game since gothic 2, despite the constant crashes and glitches

Can't wait for the game to become fully playable at 4K, it looks gorgeous already

>You always know what you're going to find in the world, theres not much sense of wonder. Can you tell me why did you find it fun?

you only know that once you've explored all the different areas and found all the different things to find

you're not supposed to keep playing after that, user

>it sounds like you're approaching modern games wrong
How should I haved approach this game?

Sodium Chloride!

>further moving of goalposts
Post your Korok count

The Korok puzzle one is objectively wrong. The side quests are just fetch quests one is also objectively wrong.

how do you know? Seriously I would have never expected to find a dragon coiled at the top of the mountain, or eventide. Were you spoiled? If so I'm sorry

once there's not much left to discover and there's no challenge whatsoever stop playing

only games that have a competitive element or an extensive economy are supposed to be played past that point

Breath of the Wild went from like a 9/10 to a 7/10 for me when I realized the meat of the game is basically the fucking shrines.

Holy fuck I'm so tired of shrines, and the worst part is that if you avoid them then LOL no more stamina, no more hearts. I can't believe I'm saying this but Nintendo made climbing towers to active a map more fun by comparison. Don't get me wrong, there are some great shrines, but they get lost in the shuffle of like a 100 mediocre ones. Shrines are such a regular occurrence that even the good ones were sort of sullied for me.

Stop playing once the fatigue starts. It's inevitable, you will see everything there is to see at some point in the game

In BotW it's simple, just rush straight to the final boss

How many hours are you in?
Because I was in the same boat for the first 15 or so hours.
Then it started to be clear I saw most of what game had to offer and things began to get repetitive.

empty towns? There are none of those, you have to be completely ignoring the npcs

>being so pleb you actually need to upgrade hearts
>not having 3 hearts with 2 stamina wheel upgrades, which require little shrine hunting
Lol git gud

You don't need to explore all different areas to know what you're going to find. Once you've explored half the game you already know what the other half will be. Each area consists of a bunch of wild animals, korok puzzles, chests with rupees in them, and shrines. Its alway the same in each area. Theres nothing new

Around 50+? I've been playing quite a lot these days. The crashes are starting to get more constant though, which sucks.

Oh lordy another shit post thread full of ass blasted, delusional, in-denial Nintendo haters who cannot accept that BotW is now officially regarded as one of the greatest games ever made. It has been glorious to watch this place implode over the past month.

>nothing new
Except new environments and villages.

Seriously if you boil all games down like this there is nothing worth doing in games at all

I kinda get you op. I don't understand why people give this game a "pass". People legit think it's a 10/10 and GOTY but honestly it's not at all. I think it's because it's a Zelda game that did something different.

I'm not saying the game is trash by any means but it does have quite a few flaws and it's repetitive.

Sucks how most people won't accept criticism of this game even with valid points. Anytime I posted some sort of critique on the game, people would say I don't have the game or haven't played enough. Some even asked for timestamps of the game which is ridiculous.
Game isn't special at all but it's a "special Zelda game". I give it an 8/10.

>Post your Korok count
726, why does that matter :/

by "different areas" I meant the areas associated with the different factions and some of the middle section of the map

not every single area, just the distinct ones

>little enemy variety
>4 dungeons
>easy shrines
They are pretty poor game design though.

>In BotW it's simple, just rush straight to the final boss
Why does the rest of the game exist if it's just going to give me fatigue??

Screenshot butch, I don't think you can get 726 by just lifting rocks, and if you don't like collecting them there is no reason why you have so many

I'm guessing you have sub 100?

If this win the GOTY award, im done.

Because some people don't get fatigue. The whole world is not you. Why can't Sup Forums understand that?

It's the best 8/10 game I've ever played if that means anything.

The game doesn't have one single fundamental flaw.

The only issue which came close was the framerate drop in certain areas and that has now been patched.

All the complaints are nitpicks. Desperate nitpicks.

Get done now, fucker. Your tears will be delicious when it inevitably gets nominated, and win as long as RDR2 does not release this year

>Can you tell me why did you find it fun?
Yeah. Exploration for the sake of exploration kept me pretty happy most of the time. I think the world is varied enough for areas to not be boring the first time you travel through them. I remember getting amazed when I found a giant sword in the Gerudo mountains, wondering what the significance behind it was. Of course it was attached to a boring quest, but finding it was exciting to me.

>The Korok puzzle one is objectively wrong. The side quests are just fetch quests one is also objectively wrong.
I'll elaborate on what he probably meant then. Koroks are menial. It's kinda fun finding them the first time. You see a rock and a hole you can roll it into, you do it, and poof, the game rewards you with confetti, and you get a laugh out of it. Now repeat that, (and other similarly easy tasks) 900 times. No, you don't need to get them all, but if you want to have a decent inventory space, you do need to get a lot.

As for the fetch quests bit, yes, most of the quests in the game are fetch quests. And they are boring quests with boring rewards. There are exceptions with genuinely interesting quests, but a cake isn't good if 75% of it is moldy, is it?

Well they are underwhelming. I remember entering Hateno village and seeing the dye shop, just to think, "Oh cool, I wonder if there's gonna be weapon customization in another town!" The only exception to the general/clothing/inn trifecta other than Hateno is Lurelin, which just doesn't have a clothing store at all. Add to that boring side quests, and you have a problem

sounds like someone didn't play the game

...

It will, pray that it will only win one.

>shitter can't even get fucking Master sword and definitive ending while pretending to be HARDCORE

Not him but what's the point of asking for his korok seeds? I only found between 120-150 before finishing the game and I was never really looking for them.

Still, they only fell into a few categories and got boring to me. It was as if it was a pain to purposely find them. A lot of them I skipped. Left a stamp at the locations and moved on.

So what's your obsession with korok seeds?

Then don't fucking exaggerate. It gives nothing to your argument at all

And I find it strange you judge town's emptiness on their functionality. I judge them by their inhabitants

I'm not going to argue about the games downsides user. If instead of flaws I used downsides... Would that make you feel better?

>master sword
>when it's one of the worst weapons in the game
>not just using savage Lynel crushers
>caring about the true ending when it adds very little

Lol pleb. If you don't like shrines just suck it up and git gud

This is going to be like Overwatch, winning the best game.
Thats a lot of bullshit, its the Metal Gear Solid V of Zelda´s.

I ain't the OP. Read between the lines on what he meant rather than taking what they say so literally.

>You don't understand game design
Filling your whole world with thousands of copypasted bokoblins moblins and occasional linel or wizrobe is good game design?

Nitpick after nitpick if this is honestly the worst criticism you have then I'm actually going to buy this and a Switch when May comes arounnd.

I think if this game didn't have Zelda in the title then it wouldn't be so popular.

>Some even asked for timestamps of the game which is ridiculous.
kek just asked me to do this

I was generalizing, I know you can get koroks other ways. Thanks for ignoring all my other points though :/

>and if you don't like collecting them there is no reason why you have so many
because I wanted to explore the world and korok rocks were all I found. I honestly hate collecting them, and they became worthless to me once I got all weapon upgrades

I just want to see his count, bucko, so he can back up his claims. Nothing more than that.

Also don't purposely find them, there is literally no need to. They are just a "oh, neat, moment after a while

They created an amazing framework for Open World Zelda and then ruined it by making it a glorified collectathon.

The game is so incredibly afraid to be a bit linear that basically everything in the game boils down to very menial tasks. The biggest exception is of course the divine beasts, but even they aren't that great. They took the content of old Zelda games, cut it up into incredibly small little pieces, and sprinkled it all over the map. Rarely does something significant actually happen in the game, the dragons flying around Hyrule being one of the nice exceptions. I wanted more of that.

>when it's one of the worst weapons in the game
Don't use Sup Forumstarded hyperbole lest you want to look like a retard.
>caring about the true ending
Disregard my previous advice, there's no helping you.

Nah, I don't believe you. I think you have the game, but I sincerely doubt you can get so many unless you are purposely finding them

Also you have literally no argument, what can I address?

>take this shitty ow game
>add Pokemon
>add plot
And game of the year, not like this travesty.

Why do you even want to collect them? I swear completionist autism is the worst, I don't get how those autists can live with themselves

>but I sincerely doubt you can get so many unless you are purposely finding them
I was intentionally trying to find them, that doesn't mean I enjoyed doing so.

>Also you have literally no argument, what can I address?
Defend the 4 dungeons being only 15 minutes

>pokéfag
>thinking is opinions matter
Lol

>Why do you even want to collect them?

I don't, but 80% of BoTW is Shrines/Seeds/Go there/Get that for me quests.

You can' treally ignore it.

>collect everything
>get a literall shit
Nice argument lol.

Your only valid point is the first one and the last one is exaggerated.

Overall shit thread.

But they are not 15 minutes unless you know exactly what to do (I.e. Played them beforehand) why would I defend them? I also don't like the long dungeons in the last two 3D games

Also why are you intentionally doing something you don't even fucking like? Do you have autism?

Tell me about it. I had quite a few timestamp pics. It's pointless since you'll never talk to any of these people again. I felt so dumb wasting that time on proofs.
The "oh that's neat" thing wears off after about 50.
They seriously just boil down to the following:
Lifting suspicious rocks.
Putting an apple or matching fruit into the offering.
Climbing a tree
Shooting balloon targets
Racing to the finish in time
Putting rocks or objects into the appropriate spots

It gets dull is all I'm saying.
Are you going to ask me for my timestamp now?

So why feel the need to try and tear the game down? No game will ever be perfect. You can't please everyone.

But none of it's minor misgivings detract from the fact that it's an exceptionally brilliant piece of software which should be celebrated for what it actually achieves.

Instead, people are obsessed with trying to bring it down. BotW's acclaim is deserved. Why can't people let it go?

What even is your argument? You had none. It's just saying it will be better with Pokémon, which makes no sense

You can, easily. Even if you just go to the divine beasts alone you can clock 20+ hours, which is standard for zeldas.

>Someone points out that the things I like are low quality shit and thus non-games
Y-y-you don't understand anything.

Yeah...But you should do, retard!

See what I mean? You don't even understand what 'game design' even means.

>filling our world with same technology, buildings and multiplying the same race and having the same pets is good life design

>Tell me about it. I had quite a few timestamp pics. It's pointless since you'll never talk to any of these people again. I felt so dumb wasting that time on proofs.

well you should feel ackward participating in these threads all the time, but here you are, you can't just ignore a Zelda thread and have to come in to chime in on how you are special and don't like things in the game, well guess what, nothing is absolutely liked by everyone in the world, there is always someone that has a different point of view, that said, the game apparently did hit the right cords for MOST people.

It was a opinion, not a argument.
Faggot.

*sure

Of course it gets dull if you have 700 over, what did you expect? Seriously it's like saying the game has nothing new after 200 hours, because the content has finished

Then why did you expect an argument from me? Are all Pokémon fans this retarded?

Why are there only 4 though? Dont you think there should be more?

If you dont agree with me on the dungeons then do you at least think that there could be more enemy variety in the world? Or that they shrines could be a bit more challenging?

Itt OP would really love to play Zelda but since he can't just resorts to the next best thing, make others not play it.

>a nintenbro calling people retarded

Only Nu-Males like this game

>plays Pokemon
>not a nintenbro
Pathetic, enjoy your 240p 30fps with dips

why the long tits?

There's well over 100 shrines if you want more dungeon

>Calls other nu-males
>post image focused on tits
Now that's a true nu-male right there.
He doesn't understand the hip and ass master race for maximum fertility.

because Sup Forums is nintendogaf and in their eyes nintendo can do no wrong and everything is okay when they do it

go away, nigger

>Never_been_kissed.jpg

>There's well over 100 shrines if you want more dungeon
Theres only 80 puzzle shrines
>20 shrines are test of strengths
>20 shrines are receiving a blessing
The shrines consist of extremely short poorly designed physic puzzles, I dont know you would compare that to a dungeon

>prefers ass to tits
>thinks he'll fool anyone into thinking he's not a closet homosexual

Nice try, though.

>Nothing interesting to find

Go find and ride a fucking glowing animal or a skeleton or something, chase falling stars and dragons
Kill some moblins chasing down animals and people, kill yiga assassins

I feel like people are playing a different game than I am

Because everybody hates Okami and Darksiders
Wait, no they don't and they got critical acclaim and sleeper hit fan bases?

Are you implying dungeon puzzles are somehow better? Because that's literally false. They are even more simple somehow, and you can't even cheese them

shrines are receiving a blessing

The puzzel is getting access to the shrine. For those ones, the puzzel is on the outside. Shit post more.

Because it's not deserved. It's bs and you know it.
I'm not trying to tear the game down at all but the game could've been way better in different aspects. The fact that it's getting perfect 10s is a croc of shit.
I love the Zelda series but I'm just judging the game as I would every other game. I enjoyed it and rate it an 8. Talking to people outside of the Internet share the same complaints.

So do you honestly believe it's a masterpiece?

I'm only here because I like discussing games. Botw just happens to be one of the last 3 I played. I just felt dumb having to validate my opinions with timestamps because people won't accept anything but positive things.

For me it's not just the seeds. They could've done so much more. The game gets too repetitive. It tries to do so much and then falls short in different categories. A lot of people say they're just laying the groundwork for a better game and I have to agree on that.

>How would you compare multiple puzzle rooms to a zelda dungeon

Oh idk lol
The time you spend searching and getting to shrines and completing them is definitely comparable to the time spent backtracking and puzzle solving of a zelda dungeon

The gameplay is really good, but I simply can't understand why it got so many 10/10 scores.

>So do you honestly believe it's a masterpiece?

I honestly believe that it's the new high standard for open world games, to which all future open world games will be compared to.

Tell me I'm wrong about that.

No you don't, not with that heavily exaggerated OP, and questioning why some people like it. You are just inviting shitposting. Also, we don't need more Zelda threads, take it to the current one. All the "discussions" also boil down to worthless my opinion>your opinion, so tell me, are you really here to discuss?

You're literally wrong... Sorry.

What standard would you be referring to? What makes this so unique compared to what we've had in the past?

Interactivity, how the mechanics twine together and physics. And since it's a well-selling title from a well-known IP, publishers will be looking at it.
