Did I fall for a meme or something? For every hour of "gameplay" you have to read like 5 hours of dialogue, 90% isn't even voiced because it's either texting or so generic that they didn't bother. And when you finally get to the gameplay it's like a shitty version of pokemon that looks flashy but has no substance. I can imagine weebs gushing all over it because it's like a shitty slice of life anime like k-on but come the fuck on, this game isn't good. It barely qualifies as a game at all.
Did I fall for a meme or something? For every hour of "gameplay" you have to read like 5 hours of dialogue...
k
we fucking warned you retard. Just play a real SMT if you dislike anime.
I was the opposite with P4G, the 'gameplay' was awful but I loved the rest.
Why can't newfags handle story in videogames?
I don't get it, do they need to kill something the second they start the game?
Kids are allergic to reading
hmm.. let me check again
>old games didn't have much of a story because of limitations
>new games are usually cinematic and have little gameplay
I wonder who the newfag here is...
If they don't like the story that the game is telling, it's basically filler at that point.
Yeah, Dragon Quest,CRPG's and Final Fantasy sure is new.
Good post user but I want to talk about something else. Anyone else stomping enemies in NG+?
Just finished the second palace and the only thing I did were normal attacks
I too spend $60 on games without reading what they are.
Sidenote i hate how you can't do anything else the day you go to a palace.
I'm enjoying the game but the combat seems really meh. Spam persona attacks and figure out a weakness and keep doing it till you can do your retarded anime fight scene when they're all on the ground. Does it get better? Seems meh
I'm only like 12 hours in.
But it gets harder later on typically.
Persona 3 actually had worse weakness spamming. Then you get to bosses without weakness and you start needed to craft very specific personas. Least on hard.
So like every Persona?
You can, rank that teacher up.
Most of the dialog, especially in between castles, is about absolutely nothing significant. 90% of it could be cut and it would take nothing away from the plot.
I've never played Persona I just expected more combat depth from how people have talked about the series
Get the Maid social link to max and you can pay to get a night action after dungeon. Before then it's worth ranking because you sometimes get extra actions during the day, and can pay to have laundry done for you.
>90% of it could be cut and it would take nothing away from the plot.
So you haven't played the game? You know character development is a thing, right?
Yeah you fell for the meme, the only one that actually balanced gameplay and story in a meaningful way was a decade ago. P5 looks and feels amazing, but is linear as shit with the weakest story.
So you're the kind of guy who reads up a Wikipedia plot synopsis instead of actually reading a book
>but is linear as shit with the weakest story.
OP was talking about P5 not P4
>this is my first JRPG, and I hate reading!
there, was it that hard to summarize?
You must have posted this in the wrong thread because that doesn't summerize what I said at all.
In general, sometimes I just want to pick a game and play, not read or watch cutscenes for minutes or hours through a playthrough.
That's why I pick retro games to not deal with that and just enjoy the "story" even if there are no words on them.
>>old games didn't have much of a story because of limitations
>this is what little kids believe
AHAHAHA
People never praise the combat of persona series.
Felt the same way when I played 4 a while back. Glad I did that and learned that Persona is just a meme so that I didn't waste money on 5.
>Everyone talking about the kaneshiro's treasure while morgana's neck is fucking broken.
I hope this is bait, because if you're serious, then you're a fucking idiot for wasting $60 without reading the box first. And it's the 5th game in a series that has been like that for almost 10 years.
I get you OP. persona isn't for you.
I tried to play P3 and P4 and I absolutely loathed the day sections because while I like RPGs and don't have any problem reading I just hated the school life simulator.
All I wanted was to fight shit with the games' amazing presentation but the dungeons were shit and gameplay was really simple. Basically if you don't like the day sections Persona games feel like mediocre RPGs that look and sound AMAZING
You should have tried emulating older games first to see what they were all about.
