As well animated as it was, I can't help but feel like the humor was lost in transition to animation.
I laughed more during the manga than the anime and the one thing that got a laugh out of me was when the bug guy ran at Saitama then took about 10 seconds to fly back across the room.

Specifically they hired the kind of young Japanese animators who make those online fight scenes that used to be shared in gif and video form for no reason other than they looked cool, because OPM was a webcomic

A. Fighting while having to avoid damaging the city or killing civvies on accident to lower your rank. Either protecting them from enemy attacks or your own attacks.
B. Playing as a side character and have to hold off long enough for Saitama to arrive. Or trigger the events to get him to arrive during the fight.
