>"oh yeah, THAT game happened..."
"oh yeah, THAT game happened..."
Kinda pathetic how little of a shit people give about after its release
But is it any good?
I'll never forgive myself for buying this
I honestly enjoyed it and hope there is a sequel that expands the lore more.
Doubt it'll happen though.
>But is it any good?
Meh
>After being delayed for 2 console generations it finally comes out
>Nobody even knew because no advertising
>Literally just an escort quest except you're the one being escorted by a retard
>This was meant to save the PS4
I had hope for federation force to be good for its gameplay thanks to online co-op, brand new metroid element, and option for solo action (w/ the lone wolf chip)
I was terribly wrong, and im glad our lord and savior smea taught me the way of the hax before hand
>But is it any good?
it is a niche game.
The emotion you get from playing it is unlike any other game. Only play it if you are able to immerse yourself within the emotion.
>delayed for years to come
>the finished outcome is a mediocre game
Fucking kek. First Star Fox Zero, FFXV, now this.
I wonder how Yooka-Laylee holding up after that jontron controversy. Hearing its sandbox level design is far worse than Spyro's
You forgot Duke Nukem Forever.
And this is why HL3 will never come out. It could never live up to expectations and given the saturation of FPS's on the market, both 'realistic' and sci-fi, it would feel bland and samey, simply from having 90% of it's aspects that were interesting and unique being ubiquitous now. There's nothing special about HL anymore and I don't think there's a way to make it special that hasn't been done by someone else.
not many people talked about it on launch and no one talks about it now
It might just need to be a nostalgia romp. Like wolfenstein revamp, it just needs to FEEL like half life and dickheads will lap it up.
...
Dishonored 2.
Even outside of this place I never see anyone talk about it.
That's what they said about DNF, and look how that turned out. Wolfenstein worked because people wanted a WWII FPS, and AAA have been against that for a long time. With the oncomming release of a swath of WWII FPS's in the next year/2 years, I think if Wolfenstein released THEN it would have been poorly received. In short, it got lucky (that isn't to say it's a bad game, I liked it a lot).
>Entire game is an escort quest but the gimmick is that you're stuck escorting a retarded bird that gets stuck on everything
PC SLAGS WILL NEVER EVER EVER GET TO PLAY LAST GUARDIAN
WTF happened?
...
...
DNF if you do your research was a scam. The original devs got sued for fucking over investors/ It was eventually picked up by gearbox and frankensteined in to something playable then released to make a profit.
Wait, this actually came out already??
I thought that the esport matches (one saving grace of the game) got intense as fuck with LotV.
Yet the game just died out with it...
A few weeks ago. It's shit.
...
the only attention it got was from some reddit shillposting of MUH GRAFIX
it was garbage, F2P garbage on top of that
Is it good ?
HOW MANY LAYERS OF IRONY ARE YOU ON
I suppose.
I can appreciate some personal feeling mech action, but preferably in single-player format.
pretty much every multiplat from the last 2 years
...
>Remember me
>Instantly forgotten
I wouldn't call DNF a scam. It's a product of an overlong development cycle and even *looked* like a game developed over the better part of 2 decades, with a bright, Doom era in the beginning with aliens and wonky stuff, the dark, gross Quake era (not a criticism of quake, just a comment) where everything looked slick and wet, and then ended on the ol' brown and bloom of modern FPS's. And from changing studios, but being too cheap/lazy to throw away assets, what we got makes sense.
Apparently not.
it was shit for the die hard fans and it wasn't interesting for casuals or people new to the series. I'm glad it's forgotten already
good tier industrial design for the world tho
>Devs wanted to make the scariest, most intense dead space
>Cucked by EA and forced to make a shitty TPS with co-op and microtransactions
>Universal ammo
>random gun maker
>cover shooting sections
>absolutely no enemy variety
Everything went so wrong..
>Dobson got all pissy with the dev saying games staring girls don't sell
>It comes out and it is immediately forgotten
>Dobson didn't even buy it
No like he said it was literally a scam. Investors were duped into thinking the game would be released shortly after their investment was made
and it wasnt
I remember that ass
>Guys! Duke Nukem Forever is actually going to come out! For REAL!
and killed the value of the franchise. I still have fond memories of 1 as a kind of puzzle TPS with lots of great design choices. Never got around to any of the others. Like all things EA gets involved in, they let an original idea prove its worth and then completely rape it until its dead in the sequels.
Yeah it's pretty easy when there's nothing in the game.
i legit only heard about it because of the controversy surrounding frank's death
...
You could even say it took Forever to come out.
I unironically believe DS2 was way better than DS1, only thing I didn't like was Isaac becoming some wisecracking action man, everyone on the future must have balls of steel because a fucking engineer makes an orbital drop on foot without getting a heart attack or being shellshocked for hours after the ordeal
The only thing people wanted from this game was the ME emote to spell out meme
What went wrong with Starcraft 2 in general?
I like to think that, unlike the original SC, they spent most of their budget INTENTIONALLY making it an eSports game. The rest of it, like the godawful story and shitty Arcade, ultimately killed it because it drove away casual players.
I really liked it. I don't know if I'm a patient man or if I'm just randomly very good at controlling Trico, but I never had any problems of him getting stuck or not obeying commands or anything like that.
didn't know about that, I saw how it played, looked and sounded and decided to avoid the game like it was AIDS. so how does he die? and why? after DR3 I lost any hype for the franchise anyway
...
me too.
Game was nowhere near amazing but in enjoyed the shooting mechanics and the guns were cool.
nice maps too. really liked the airship.
But this is actually good...?
>all those games that made DNF jokes not even a year before DNF released
What a lovely surprise that was.
