SNES Mini

Will it happen, Sup Forums?

Yes this fall.

SNES's best games were 3rd party
A SNES Mini would be shit because they couldn't get the rights to those games

Just emulate, faggots

And they'll discontinue it 3 days after the launch.

No but gameboy is

Hope yourr ready to stand in line for 3 days before launch in order to get one for less than $200

Not a bad idea at all.

Include backlight, rechargeable battery, original design with 30 games and it will sell.

If you want to get fancy have an A/V out.

Did GB even have 30 worthwhile games

my 30 dollar rpi does this

There are plenty of good first party games on it. You must be thinking of the PS2

Yea but at this point the games seem so simple they're almost on the level of old Atari games (pokemon aside). Even NES has aged better than gameboy imo

Lol, my pc already does that
No extra 30 bucks needed you fool

Easily. It was a great platform.

How much more complex can an NES game be though? I don't think Super Mario Bros is that much bigger than say Wario Land or Super Mario Land 2. Aside from a few RPGs, they seem like they're similar in scope.

SMW, LTTP, Super Metroid, Yoshi's Island
EarthBound and DKC's 1st party nature is questionable
What am I missing? That's 6 games. All of the best SNES games were 3rd party and the list dwarfs that

Businesses don't survive on giving shit away for free. Are you twelve?

Games it must include

Gradius 3
Actraiser
Super Mario Allstars
TMNT 4 turtles in time
Harvest Moon
Evo search for eden
Kirby Super Star
Illusion of Gaia
Killer Instinct
Earthbound
Starfox

I would want like 6 million more on there too of course

I know youre a neckbeard permavirgin but some of us own furniture like couches and don't want to play in a computer chair. Also we have friends and the pi enables us to take it to their houses and play it with any controller you can throw at it.

b b but were all emulation bros right?

Compare Castlevania NES to it's gameboy counterpart. Due to it's smaller resolution, monochrome color pallet, and decreased power most of the scenes look like this with 1 or at most 2 enemies on the screen. The NES Castlevania is much more complex visually and gameplay wise.

Super Mario Bros might be comparable a bit to Mario Land but you should compare it to SMB3 which was released much closer to Mario Land. The difference is huge.

Nintendo's first party quality on SNES was pretty good. I don't see why you can't see that. Of course the list of third party games is going to dwarf it, there's like, hundreds of third party companies. No one company is going to be able to dwarf all of them combined. Anyway, here are the other ones you missed

Super Mario Kart
F-Zero
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario All-Stars
Tetris Attack
Wario's Woods
Tetris & Dr. Mario
Kirby's Avalanche
Kirby's Dreamland 3
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Course
Pilotwings
Star Fox

Mario land was more of a poc than anything though. Mario land 2 is pretty damn good.

This. A thousand times this.

Look, I'm all for paying for games. If you like something, you support it if you are financially able to. But come on, do they really need you to pay to replay a game that released in the fucking late 80s?!

Nintendo should work to make as many of their games public domain (minus the big hitters like Mario) and let anyone play them for free. This would build up their fan-base loyalty to god-like levels; which in turn, would have everyone buying their stupid Switch or whatever dumbass under-powered console they release next. It's the best business decision they could make to compete in this gaming market.

Spoken like a brain-washed faggot who doesn't understand what mega-companies like Disney have done to destroy creativity and startup companies so they can rein supreme. Ironic as many of these same companies make their money by stealing other peoples' ideas. And it would actually force these companies to create new IP. But that would require work and they'd rather make you pay for Kid Icarus for the 3rd time.

Sounds like a bunch of shovelware to me
Star Fox and F-Zero were basically tech demos and the original Mario Kart was terrible

They also don't have the rights to Mario RPG

And yeah, 3rd party is always more plentiful. But in the SNES's case, it was also better and more memorable. Face it, the SNES is remembered for its 3rd party games. Not incidentally it's also remembered as Nintendo's best console. Nintendo doesn't want people to remember that what used to make them good was the 3rd party support, not their half assed rehashes and nostalgia bait

Secret of Evermore
Terranigma
Hagane: The Final Conflict
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Metroid
Super Castlevania IV
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 2
Legend
Street Fighter II
Mega Man X
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Goof Troop
Aladdin
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Earthworm Jim

These games deserve and need to be on that thing

Gameboy was amazing.

>Shovelware

Super Mario Kart and F-Zero are still great to this day. Even Star Fox is pretty fun. You could even call a game like Super Mario 64 a tech demo, but it was still good. Also, calling games like Dreamland 3 and Super Star shovelware? Man, did you even play SNES games or did you just hear about this console from others? Sometimes I wonder. They sure do own the rights to Super Mario RPG. Maybe not all of the characters like Geno, but a game with the title "Mario" in it is Nintendo's. It's why you don't see it ending up on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live or Steam.

Already sold out.

There's unfortunately no copyright claim in the credits so I can't be sure

But Bayonetta 2 for instance is jointly owned by Nintendo, Sega and Platinum. Nintendo doesn't have the rights to publish is solely without the agreement of the others, so I'm sure this would also apply to Mario RPG. I'm not saying that means it would end up on PSN.

And I've never been a fan of Kirby games. Lumping them all together doesn't help matters

it won't.

NES Classic was release to hype up Switch and bring Nintendo as a brand in the media again.

Im drooling

Not totally a fair comparison.
The Gameboy was around for 20 years, there's a lot of really cheap and early stuff on there but later games like donkey Kong land and links Awakening are quite complex and arguably better than what the nes could do aside from being black and white.
Doubly so if you include gbc games.

>tfw Sup Forums is too stupid to spot a brilliant shitpost
probably too subtle for most of these kids who are one step above smearing their own shit on the walls

>Not a bad idea at all.

>Include backlight, rechargeable battery,
Or you could just buy a GBA SP and play all the gameboy games you like.

What are you on about

You don't get it?
Seriously?
It should be patently obvious

I just one want to hack. Unlike NES there's no way to mod an SNES to get HDMI upscaled. Wish the guy who made the AVS did one for SNES.

I was reading too far into it

yeah and an snes mini willbe the goodbye lol

Don't fucking reply to me. I didn't ask for that, faggot.

Yes because then I can be happy in saying that I like playing Doom on my SNES

...

like the first one, it will have a usb dock inside so you can hack ir and install every single snes game and have the perfect snes machine out there

STOP

>have the perfect snes machine out there
I already have one
It's called a PC

>No Super Metroid
>No Link to the Past
0/10

>people in this thread don't realize that Square Enix and Nintendo are building up a significant relationship again and will release the SNES mini with all of nintendo and square's best games

...

that's one of the six million others I would include I suggest reading the list more carefully retard

lol, I don't have a beard, only facial hair below my mouth is on my chin

too much work, got download runs, rebind keys, use filters, download drivers

old consoles had a charm of turning on and playing shit
new consoles are worse pcs, but you cant take that out of old consoles

I'd give my left testicle for a new GBA micro. No idea why I'd want another box wasting space under my TV to play a limited set of games that can be emulated with 100% accuracy anyway.

Add all available Dragon Quests and Chrono Trigger and we might have a deal

>too much work, got download runs, rebind keys, use filters, download drivers
You're an idiot

eventually yeah

there is no end to nintendos kikery.

>Front Mission: Gun Hazard will never come out on this shit
