Is there a more divisive game character?
Is there a more divisive game character?
these 2
I hope they done fuck up his physics this time, I just reinstalled Generations and Classic is janky
Even if they do, Mania will have you covered.
I liked Generations for what it was, but it is considerably weaker than actual classic. I'll probably feel the same about Forces.
What would be the best 3d Sonic game?
>Classic areas recreated in 3D a la Utopia
>the Day stages in Unleashed
>something else?
Mania looks cool but I wish it had more characters. Specifically Amy with her Advance moveset, I loved bashing springs with her hammer
>>something else?
Shadow/Heroes gameplay with SA2 rail grinding.
A marriage of Boost and Adventure Sonic. Seaside Hill in Generations came close to this.
>Specifically Shadow or Blaze with similar-to-Sonic movesets
I agree completely
Not really so much the character as much as the entire franchise
Character variation without shitty gimmick stages
Not really, true Sonic fans know Classic Sonic is by far the best design and his games were easily the best ones.
New Sonic fans (milennials and furries) prefer the modern one because of the generic rock-music, CGs, bad plot and bad dialogue.
Friendly reminder modern Sonic isn't really Sonic, just a spin-off counterpart, just like the one from the Boom TV show.
Can't I like both?
both right models look much better because they're not hindered by N64's shitty architeture
Nope.
Unless if by "modern" you're thinking about the Dreamcast Era redesign.
>not liking both eras
No, user. Amy
why is she so perfect Sup Forums
That art is terrible
I like all 3? Only awful modern Sonic design was 06 I think.
The revised Scuttlebug is shit because the original is just so trippy.
I don't mind the new Nessie, it's more in line with Yoshis.
Classic Sonic's design worked for classic environments and gameplay, when the plot was just "Some Robotnik guy is being a cunt, go smash his shit".
Modern Sonic exists purely because the developers wanted to push the graphics in a more photo-realistic action direction to attempt to stay relevant in a world that was rapidly developing a fetish for increasingly realistic graphical capabilities. Cartoon characters in real-world environments simply don't work. It's unfortunately why Hollywood has to change the original designs of any cartoon characters for their live-action film adaptations (e.g. Smurfs).
Modern Sonic's design works in his games for the same reasons that the redesigns for the Transformers work for their movies.
Classic Sonic's design in 3D is definitely cool and nostalgic, but I can't imagine him having worked in Adventure through Colors. He's too rounded, and (unironically) not literally edgy enough.
I like both for their own respective purposes. Neither is better than the other, just for different purposes.
While I prefer Classic Sonic because of the more cutesy aesthetic, modern Sonic is fine. this is probably bait but whatever
Cute, Muscly Were-Amy
For real though 3D/Modern Sonic looks really fucking stupid from a Sidescroller 2D view.
Over the shoulder he's fine.
